  1. I think we all need to embrace our own successes and everyday victories for what they are, a true blessing of a gift we've been granted for a fresh start to our health, our future and that of our loves ones. Too many people choose to dwell on the negative and all the bad things that come along with this journey. I choose today and everyday to be grateful for this blessing and to live my life accordingly in the future. We all need to remember those who support us and back us up while others try to tell us we are "taking the easy way out". Anyone who is going through this or has, can tell you this is not easy but it is what we must do to get our lives back on track for our future and that of our loved ones. So no matter who you are, what small victory you've had or haven't today, stop for a moment and remember the path that led you to where you are and the amazing future set out before you if you embrace these successes and everyday victories and be the amazing person you were meant to be!

What a wonderful post for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday!

  2. Thank you guys so much! I am officially sleeved and feeling wonderful! No gas, very little pain and I'm up walking. Your prayers have worked! God is GOOD!!!

"Whereever two or more are gathered in my name, there will I be also." Even on the internet! Continued prayers for your smooth recovery and weight loss journey.

  3. Not feeling a lot of hunger, just some nausea and shaky feeling. But...this too shall pass. LOL

@@MrsMike1, I don't like the chicken broth either. But it was kindof satisfying at lunch.

@@JackieBrown the 11th will be here before you know it. I think we all are excited about a new life.

@@haleytrim, I'm doing fine. At work it is easy to focus on other things. Don't feel super hungry. How are you? I need to print out a calendar so I can cross out days.

  4. Amper, you have some real help now where you didn't before. Even when you hit those stalls, your sleeve will keep you from that frustration binging. You still have to make the right choices, but you have that tool to help. You've got this handled. Just keep doing what you are doing and if you need some encouragement, you've come to the right web

WARNING!!! Given what you said in your post, you need to be aware that you may be getting close to The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or even more. But don't worry -- after that, the weight will start falling off if you stick to your program. If you're interested, here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again like crazy!

(Apologies to BP regulars who have seen this repeatedly, but it's a big deal to those who are going through it!)

No apology necessary Rog. The stalls are what trip up many of us. I have set that article as a favorite. Thanks for repeating.

  5. Make a list of the possibilities if you have the surgery. Now make a list of possibilities if you don't. Don't forget to list all the negative health issues. Take a look at the possible effects of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol on the internet. I don't mean to be a prophet of doom, but I am pretty sure the odds of me dying from complications of obesity far outweigh the odds of me dying from complications of WLS. Good luck with your decision.

  6. Take a look at one of the surgeries on You Tube. It only makes a sleeve because it takes off the large bulge part of your stomach. Everything else remains the same unless you have a hiatal hernia that needs fixing and that is only closing up a hole. I may be over simplifying, but you get the idea. Good luck with your choosing.

  7. LOL That kind of reminds me of the Three stooges bit where one is carrying a long 2x4 and turns around and misses the other guy, but continues on around and smacks him in the back of the head! Here in East Texas we call that a backhanded compliment.
