  1. Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone has tried redoing their Pre-Op diet. Mine was very simple 3-4 Protein Shakes during the day and 1 meal for dinner that consisted of a meat and veggie.

I'm just looking to reboot and start over. I've lost 40 pounds so far and I'm pretty happy but it's time to take it to the next level.

I haven't been on track at all the past few months. So I was just wondering if there was anybody else out there that had tried this.

Any help is always appreciated :)

  2. Hey everyone! My surgery is on Friday and I started my liquid diet yesterday. I also went and had all my blood work done..well they have this program where I can see all my blood work results..prob not a good thing because I'm a TERRIBLE worrier!! I saw that my white blood count was elevated a little outside of the normal range and I'm just hoping and praying this isn't going to turn out to exclude me from surgery or become a problem. Also, I feel like an emotional wreck today and that I'm on the verge of losing it!

Hi! Congrats on your surgery! I'm afraid I can't help with the white blood count. I'm sure your doctor would have told if it would be a problem though. If not I would just call them a check with the nurse just to a peace of mind. I feel you on the emotional wreck. It's been a roller coaster for me. I'm on day 12 of my pre op diet and let me tell you it has been so difficult trying to keep track of my emotions. I'm sure it's because my body is getting use to these changes so I'm becoming way more hormonal. My surgery is Thursday and I'm freaking out. Stay strong! It will all be worth it!

  3. Each person is different. Tell no one, tell everyone. It doesn't matter as long as it's what you want to do. At the end of the day this was just the way it kind went in my head(if that makes sense). Just a rant about my personal experience with trying to figure out what I would do.

  4. The only person I told was my husband and my BFF. Truthfully the only reason I told my BFF is BC she's been through it so I knew she would understand. I simply didn't need ppl greeting into my head. I knew what I wanted to do and didn't want to hear any negativity. This will be forever my secret. I have always been the one to workout and go on these diets, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I respect that! I just probably have too much of a big mouth not to tell anyone. Lol. Plus I'm kinda proud. To each their own. Whatever keeps you motivate, whatever makes you happy. :)

  5. First and far most importantly I will say I did this for myself, no one else. When I first started thinking about getting the LapBand I only told my parents and my husband. Couldn’t have asked for a more supportive husband, my parents on the other hand were a little worried but once I explain things to them, they as always, supported my decision.

As things got more serious I told a few close friends. I was really shocked by their response “You don’t need that”, “Your not THAT heavy”, “You can lose the weight without it”. At this point I had already made up my mind. It might be hard hearing things like that from my friends, but at the end of the day people are entitled to their option, and people that care about you will let you know what they think. It was important for me that I set things clear with them though. I was not asking for permeation, or validation for my decision. I was only letting them know. I set things straight from the very first time. I explained why I had made the decision to change my life. I was lucky enough that people were able to understand where I was coming from and even if they didn’t think I needed it. They supported it because it was MY decision.

Now that my surgery is coming up in only 10 days! YIKES! I feel like I can be opened about my surgery. I don’t need to hide it, or be embarrassed because this is the life I have chose. A better life for me.

Put your head way high because many people still can’t take the step forward to bettering their lives and guess what.. YOU HAVE!! Learn to stand by your decition and be strong to does you love.

Remember: “BE WHO YOU ARE AND SAY WHAT YOU FEEL, BECAUSE THOSE WHO MIND DON’T MATTER, AND THOSE WHO MATTER DON’T MIND”

  6. Half way through the month of July! Hope does of you that have already had surgery are recovering well! For does of us later in the month... It's almost time!! I know I can't wait. I'm on day 6 of my pre op diet. Everyday it gets a little easier and everyday it gets a little closer to surgery date!! Once again best of luck to all of us ✌️

  7. Hi Op. I also have Cigna besides the hernia thing what other hoops are the having you jump? When did you start? How long did it take from the time of your first visit had it been?

Hi. Thankfully there were really no hoops to jump through. Mostly just a lot of test. Had blood work and a test to check my heart and lungs the same day as my free first appointment on May 28th, then they did a body comp test, a phych eval, and the last test was my EGD on the 8th. I will be having surgery the 24th. So the whole process took about 2 months. It wasn't too bad. I have heard of of some that has gone a lot quicker. Good luck! Hope that helps.

  8. Hey there! I am on day 4 of my pre op diet. I 3 different shakes I use. 100%whey protein(cookies and cream with 6-8 oz of skim milk), premium protein(chocolate), and total lean by GNC(strawberry). I like the verity through out the day. It really helps me not get board of the flavors. I have one of each through out the day. The first day I felt kinda sick to my stomach. I worked through it. Now I'm feeling pretty good. Can drink all of them with no problem. Best of luck!

  9. Hi ladies! Got to love Instagram :) been looking at the WLS hashtags pretty much from the moment I decided if would have the procedure. Finally went in and created an account. Happy to follow all of you. Look forward to seeing you guys progress! @operation_newme (IG)

  10. Wonderful, you are on your way! I can't say that I'm looking forward to the pre-op diet but I'm surely looking forward to getting off the Water pill for hypertension, less knee pain, lower A1C and getting my life back again.

Yes! I can not wait. I literally have 2 more days and I have to start my new life. Kind of crazy! I can't wait for you to start your journey. It really is a whole new life. As much as I'm dreading getting started I'm also trying to look at my pre op diet in a positive way just trying to get myself prepared for life after the band is placed. Best of luck to you!

  11. @@dford I'm so excited too, its 21 days now, soon it'll be 14, then 7 ... I check the date like 4 times a day and just obsess about it, it's pretty crazy hahaha. I started preop today(a week early) instead of the 15th :)

Time is going to fly! What does your pre op diet consist of? If you don't mind me asking. :)

  12. Just got back home from my EGD. First time ever being under anesthesia. That was kinda crazy but everything went good. She let me know right away that I in fact do have a Hiatal Hernia. To be honest they seem to be sure that I had the hernia even before my test. Here we go! I start pre op diet in 2 days and surgery on the 24th!

  13. I'm also scheduled for that procedure thru true results in Houston. Yes I have Cigna as well. My procedure to see if I have the hernia is July 28th. I'm super excited to start the journey to a better me. Please let me know how it went for you. Good luck tomorrow!

Congratulations on your dentition! I'm not going to lie I'm kinda nervous. Hopefully everything goes as planned. I will defiantly let you know. Hopefully they will let me know right away.

  14. Welcome Tatiana! You're the same date as me. Are you doing anything to prepare?

Thank you! Your the first person I have seen with the same date :). You know mostly just a lot of research and I have been reading a book true results have me. Mostly I'm just ready! I start my pre-op diet on the 10th. How about you?

  15. Hi there! Hoping that some of you can help calm some of the nervous I have. I started my process through True Result Richardson last month. I have Cigna insurance and they won't cover my LapBand surgery because my BMI is not higher then 40. True results has instead recommended that I see if I have a Hiatal Hernia, if I do then insurance will cover almost have. If I don't I have to pay for all of it.

Long story short I have my upper GI scheduled for July 8th. I'm super nervous! I was wondering if anyone else has gone through the Hiatal Hernia program.

    Any help would be great!

    Thank you,

    Tatiana
