I actually feel sorry for her, people are at a bad disposition when uneducated and just plain ignorant about others, this wasn't easy for me, just like a recovering alcoholic I had make admissions, and cried at times, I also had to be willing to become dedicated to a different way of life, and learn wrong from right as far as how and what to eat, it was very hard telling my wife NO! When she asked for something and I had to go to the gym, now she smiles and I know she is proud that my selfishness at certain times is a positive one, I lost a couple of close friends in recent years to health problems, and my entire birth family, so it was easy for me to turn away a couple friends who became very ugly and negative when I announced my decision, ultimately the negative comments and remarks should have no bearing on you since this a very personal journey, we are all here to support each other but it's your body, your pain, and your failures and achievements, keep your head up and be proud of the scars you now have, choose to be the better person and walk away each time, let others begin to see it for what it is, eventually she or he will repel others away with their negativity...........

I have heard that before about " The easy Way Out" . when you are happy and healthy what the heck do you care what she says or thinks. I know it's difficult to ignore people especially when you work with them . I would look at her and say are you talking about me? call her out in front of people and then tell her to mind her own business. If you don't value her opinion let her know she is rude. I am older and I have learned that people will treat you the way you let them. Always do things in a way that you don't look bad though. If she continues I would go through your human resources dept. I love the Gummy worms idea, I once ate a whole bag of those darn things and I was soooo sick.

This exactly why I don't want ANYONE and that includes my family to know about my surgery, some people just don't understand what we go through. All they're good at is Judging you and your decisions.. pretty sad isn't it.

Look at the reviews for sugar-free Gummy Bears on Amazon......and then give her some in the morning. She will have cramps and diarrhea in a few hours, probably in time to ruin her car.

I'm a manager. That's 100% unacceptable. I'd have her a$$ dragged in to HR. Go file a complaint and let them deal with her. If she relatiates, she will lose her job. (can you tell I have no patience for shallow people?)
Or, you could simply ask her, exaclty what is the "easy way"? I'd love to hear all about it - you must be doing it.

I hope she does too cause that is really uncool and unprofessional. Is she making the comments directly to you or behind your back? Either way, I wonder if you could try talking to her. Maybe say you value your relationship as professionals or the professional, supportive atmosphere of your workplace and would appreciate if she'd not give unsolicited advice or discuss your personal health with other coworkers? If it gets really bad, maybe reach out to your manager or HR? My sister is like this and I've definitely wished explosive diarrhea and more on her, so I get it. Hang in there!

Well you could write her out a list of ALL the more pressing issues going on in the world and hand it to her. That should give her something else to worry about other than you. I've heard If you put visine in someone's drink it will make them have explosive diarrhea!! But it may also kill them so you just never mind that

I hate to say it, but the same is true for people on this forum....everybody thinks they are an expert telling others what they should or should not do.
Giving advice even though they them selves are relatively new to all this and are only repeating what they have been told.
People have their own Dr.'s and that should be the source for answers.
All people here should do, is share their own personal experiences....if there is a topic, and I have no experience in that area, I keep my mouth shut....if there is a topic I have experienced, then I will respond, first by saying this is how it is/was FOR ME.......and recognize different people have different experiences.....
Ok, so much for my rant.

One of my favorite things to tell our newbies is this:

Stalls are like lovers. Your first will probably not be your last.

Trust in the process. It works. It just is a fickle crazy maker.

I have found that even though I have been successful these last 17 months, I still investigate every new diet that comes out. I have my 18 month follow-up appointment on 6/11 and will confess to my bariatrician that I have this anxiety and a tendency to have "exercise bulemia". I feel like if I eat anything, I have to go exercise off the calories right away.

So, just stay on point with Protein first, then veg, then limited fruit.< br />
I had to give up Peanut Butter and cheese to move my most recent stall. maybe I will try those again after my panni at the end of the year. (I have to be two years out.)
Remember these basic concepts that many of us follow with the variety of plans our bariatric teams give us:
    Drink no calories.

Drink Water until your eyeballs float - 64 - 80+ ounces per day.

Don't eat anything made in a factory. You can do this by shopping the perimeter of the supermarket and avoid the aisle unless you need a spice or paper towels...that kind of stuff.

Eat at least 60 ounces of Protein per day, and at any meal, eat your protein first - then veg - then fruit.

Dessert should be something like an apple, not apple pie with two scoops of ice cream.

Avoid sugar, grease, and salt as much as possible. Eating clean will help you discover the real taste of natural food. If it weren't for sugar, grease and salt, McDonald's would have no business. When I gave up candy bars and started eating dark chocolate, I realized that it wasn't the chocolate I missed - it was the sugar.

Try to wean yourself off of soda and diet soda. Many bariatric plans discourage soda pop and anything with bubbles post-op.

Reduce starchy carbs like bread, flour, sugar, rice, noodle, biscuits, white potatoes, macaroni, spaghetti etc.

So what is left to eat? meat, eggs, cheese, Beans, Peanut Butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, nuts, and fresh fruits and non-starchy veggies. You can adjust your current recipes to reduce carbs. The World According to Eggface is a good place to start. We have a forum here for recipes. Also, Sparkpeople.com and Myfitnesspal.com.

Many of us use Myfitnesspal.com for logging our food every day. It is really an eye-opener if you are honest with yourself about what you eat.

Weigh and measure your food to accurately acknowledge your actual portion size. There is a scientific principle that says, "You cannot control that which you do not measure."

Exercise where you can. Move your body every day. Don't become part of the sofa. Good luck, and get going!

Yea, that's what I keep reading. I guess the doctor says 3 hours , so if I'm in there for 2hrs, my mother is not having a heart attack in waiting room thinking I should have been done an hour ago. Lol
