    I hadn't even thought about the BMR. .girl your doing great! Don't compare! ! I agree with the other comments. Be doing the happy dance! That's 13 pds lighter!! Hang in there..you lose everyday. Maybe ounces but it's a loss..

It's going to be hard to distinguish what's doin what exactly but I have thyroid disease an have dealt with losing hair for yrs an I mean 15 to 20 yrs..although you'd never no it I have so much..but thyroid is a big culprit. Most drs just go by the standard tsh test. ..you need more done. The T3, T4, and reverse T3..but that's just me. I like a FUNCTIONAL Dr..they do more then mainstream drs. I am going to my endocrinologist tomorrow first visit since surgery an I'm requesting these same test..if she says it's not needed. .oh yes it is..I'll not do the test thru her an go to my functional. Thyroid will cause all them symptoms you said..hope you get answers an feel better.as far as normal to change like that after surgery someone else will have to give some insight on that one. Or Google it or there might be a section on that somewhere on here..

    I am 9 wks out tomorrow an I still stop at 4 or 5 bites. Its not pressure but I feel full. I do better drinking my protein. I eat 4 to 5 x a day as well. Is all good!
  5. I was a ball of nerves or anxiety I was like you couldnt wait to get thru the last night before. I took a ativan it was just enough to help me relax an rest ..I was supposed to have surgery at 11 and I didnt get in there till 4! I was soo hungry! you will do fine. dont over think it like I did. an after I woke up in postop an rolled to my room It was about 4 hrs later I got up an tried to walk. it wasnt much but every hr till I was out for the night I walked for a few minutes. then I woke up about 5 in the morning an decided I needed to get up an walk the halls. Is someone going with you? keep us posted when you can!

    Start looking now for help. Dont let this just. .I hope it gets better...get this addressed. .you will need professional help. I'm glad to hear you say this out loud you are aware an see this as a serious issue. Don't wait. Keep us posted. I was in talk therapy for several yrs. Getting her perspective an getting things figured out it clicked. It was a combination of several things including my own personal imperfections or genes all together getting things worked out an certain meds has been a life saver for me. I'm not saying this is ur problem but eating disorders are a byproduct of emotional way of feeding or control. Its sure contributed to my overeating along with self comfort. .along with other biologic issues..it can be fixed! Sorry for rambling. .I've been in a talkative mood an sharing my experiences an journey maybe I can help others with wat has helped me..

    Kindle..very well put. I feel like you. I took along time getting my ducks in a row. In our preop classes the psych instructor said this over an over. .its the mind..our head that's the hardest to reprogram. Do what ever it takes to get this eating. .impulse eating. .obsessive wanting to eat under control now..I have been last 11 yrs under therapy/Psych treatment. .getting to the underlying reasons an causes for these behaviors. 2 yrs ago were my break thrus. I was finally able to get peace of mind. Do I still have times of obsessive compulsive actions? You bet! Am I still in treatment? You bet! Still working on it but have come along way! I am determined not to get myself back to the unhealthy state I was in. Find support group..psychologist. .the tummy is the easy part. The head..it will be hard.

    clothes sizes - AGH!

    The W is made to give u more rm around hips an waist. .I know. I have just hit the regular 18 ..I was wearing the 22/24 w...an yrs ago in my teens. .I would b 109 lbs an the smallest size in pants I ever wore was a 9..could not squeeze into anything any smaller. I don't understand how the ones in the 180 range getting in these low dbl an single sizes either..blows me away!

    I ate the Gerber oatmeal with fruit I used for breakfast a few days, I also have the beechnut in a couple of different fruits. .that's as far as I used on the baby food.

    How are you today? I remember the hickups. .I still get them. In fact I get them when I hit my limit. I also would sneeze at times...funny an crazy as it sounds our preop class warned us about this..haha I thought she was nuts..low an behold she was right!

    I am so glad to hear that!! Just be careful. I take just regular adderall. .an I take it 2 x day. An the more hydrated u stay the better the adderall wrks I can't remember if I mentioned that or not. Just like it's mentioned it's recovering from major surgery. Listen to body so you pace yourself. I'm also going to look online for support group I can go at least once or twice a month. I no they hold them at the hospital over here where my surgeon is an I had it done. Your doing great! I can tell in your comment you have perked up! proud of you!!

    Freaking out!

    Sometimes it just drops off in big numbers at once. I've read over the months about instances like this and our instructer in preop classes touched on it. The several wks I was stalled..drove me nuts! During that time I went back to drinking 2 shakes a day an in my water I added more protein. .I made sure I got my protein min in.I had bought the syntrex nectar protein I think that's wat it's called an it's not thick just like drinking a lemonade or something but all of a sudden it started dropping again. I no the body has to adjust. I keep my carbs under 40 grms a day. It keeps me in ketosis that way I no I'm burning. An with all my diseases it's very hard for me to" exercise" , but I do a lot around the house. Wouldn't u no it this wk the feet aren't working well..need to get to podiatrist this wk...my thyroid must b where it's supposed to b also. I take thyroid daily. It will b rechecked also this wk...Hang in there..it wrks! ! It will shock you..! The inches have changed like within wks...the hubs can't keep his hands off me..but that's not knew..he always has done that.. I have to tell him stop..haha...don't compare with others..it can give u doubts an bad negative feelings about yourself. We are all different. .just stick to ur protocol an just hang in there. Don't worry. Your doin great! To this day I can eat only 5 or 6 small bites an I push away. I don't push it..you'll do great! Be patient!

    Freaking out!

    I was in your place 9 wks ago..I did all the prep over the yrs an this spring 2 of my specialists referred me to the surgeon. I guess I was in denial bc I never dreamed I qualified for insurance approval. But with my hashis an several autoimmune diseases I had put on 55 pds in 4 months...ugh. .sure enuff I went thru all preop requirements. .my last 2 wks I was on protein shakes 1 balanced meal a day then 48 hrs of strictly protein shakes..I have been thru several brands of protein by my wk 3bc I was gagging! Over th www thought of another protein shake..I seen some options on here an one I tried was the nectar brand..(I believe) it has different flavors u can get a variety pack an I ushered it to help get my 64 oz water in an the flavors aware packed with protein. ..their w not thick. .just like drinking water but u get it all...oh..I also used the chike protein brand also...an of course I had the pure protein. .I turned tried the Atkins an it to me it was nasty..it upset my tummy needless to s aww y I threw them out! I remember myself being in a ball of nerves my few days before. .my anxiety got to me..I was over thinking everything too! I was more then ready or I wouldn't have gone thru all the preop requirements. I trusted my surgeon, my drs, I new the protocol an I knew the risk. It was like well I'm not going to have much of a life fat..so I'm doin this! My surgeon an specialist all said the benefits out way the risk...surgeon told me just get thru first month..u will do great . The head will play games...hang in there...call ur surgeon if u need to..I stayed 2 days I couldn't get much water down. So I stayed to get Iv fluids. ..by that second night I was ready to go home..just take one day at a time. Ur preop staff are experts also postop staff..they'll take excellent care...they fix you up in preop an when u get relaxed it'll b over an wake up... u got this! ! Hang in there..I gained 8 pds from surgery an fluids. .don't b alarmed! It will come off!! I did stall for several wks at 3 wks out..don't get discouraged. .ur body is trying adjust to major surgery. ..be easy on yourself. .come here...luv this site. .be sure to take it measurement. Pics. .try not worry..this is ur new second chance. ..I'm 8 wks out an 62 down...I'm not even caring anymore just strictly stick to ur protocol. .trust. .it work!!!! Keep us posted!!

    Hang in there...it does get better..I'm struggling a lil still but I have to talk myself thru those times. Mine told us in preop class she said that's why they have us going thru these classes an they also have support group meetings I am going to look that up an chk it out myself I think its a great tool provided an will help...keep us posted sweetie. ..that lol voice in my head Iv had to reprogram it so it tells me you can do this!! I just started on regular adderall it's helping...it's not a magic fix for me but it is helping...I have started a few projects around the house to put my mind on other things. For the first month man it was a full focus just trying to get my fluid an protein An meds in every day! That was my priority. .hang in there u will make it!! ((Hugs))

    I'm doing the same with dresses..I gave most clothes away last wk..I kept my Sun dresses..they still wrk good for me. After fall I'll pass them on. I've went from 22/24 W to 18...which is fine...I'll take it. I'm going to go face to face with my recumbent bike today!! I'm 2 months out. .I have to at least start slow on it an wrk myself up...

  19. I have not heard of the p28 bread??? Does it taste like card board?? Is it dry?? I have thrower soo much bread away over the yrs in the past bc of being tasteless an hard..I'm curious about this one..where do u get it at? I totally agree with ur statement. .track food, I don't center life around food I eat to live..it's the biggest behavior change mentally we have to accept for life to stay healthy! If we didn't intend to why have this done!? Ya know what I mean! I'm just 2 months out 60 pds down I feeling good! Cleaned out all fat clothes..gave them away! Have 60 more to go!

    I'm so tired

    I understand. .I have dealt with chronic fatigue for 25 yrs..I am 8 wks out..most calories I get in so far 700...I have hashis autoimmune, lupus, polymyalgia, fibromyalgia an the list goes on..it doesn't matter wat I eat by early afternoon I'm so tired an fatigue I stay close to home,or home or let others drive. I take armour thyroid. .u mentioned u just had ur testing done..I hope she is running more then a tsh test...that's incomplete. I'm getting ready to go back Tuesday I've got the proper thyroid test I'm telling her I want ran. Its out of protocol. .tsh, T3, T4 an reversed T3..although u may realize all this already. .but she's going to have to raise my dosage as well. Sythroid never wrkd for me. Have u also had ur adrenals chkd? I am 8 wks out..I just added plums an melon this wk..for me even with complex carbs they do opposite on me..they played havic on my insulin so I am very choosey about carbs. I did try a teaspoon or so of quinoa this week..I hope u get feeling better..

    I just seen this..do u take anything for this before surgery? Like I have been taking wellbuterin for yrs I deal with several things. I've been seeing a therapist/ psych for 11 yrs..I think I may have read you do have family? Did your surgeon provide the preop classes? Psych evaluation etc. .? I no most insurance say these classes are required an some don't..I had to have a letter from my regular psych to release me an approval before my insurance approve mine. I would call an get in to talk to my psych just to touch base an let them no how your feeling. I assume ur thyroid is within range...? Mine had to b also before approval of surgery. . Iv been on thyroid armour for 4 months..will b for life. An I was finally just got approved for my ADD issues..I no it's tuff...ur body has been shocked..hormones are going crazy..the stomach hormones have been cut away..a lot of changes..mentally an physically. .mine warned me it is going to b a ruff ride. U can do this..Your inner strength kicks in. I drank peppermint tea in the evenings to help..with honey. .it helped..it does get easier. ..an much better!! (((hugs)))

    Post Op Blues?

    It's normal: ) I did it also. My first month I swear I didn't think it would ever pass! First 2 wks was soo hard an difficult. Yes it's emotional, I was hungry an wanted a burger! ! I had to talk myself thru it everyday. .my hubs helped a lot an so this forum..t-shirt an emotional roller coaster. .but when I got to my first wk postop visit I was ecstatic! ! I was on cloud nine bc it was actually wrking for me! I had my doubts I thought this will wrk for others an not me...but my drs all of them reassuring me follow protocol an don't cheat. .cheating diet days were over! It works! I know how frustrating it is. I was on shakes for a month..2 before an 2 later...then I was on soft for 2 then puree for 2 which I ate baby food, an shakes..then 6 wks I added solids slowly. .still would rather do shake for breakfast. .sometimes for lunch or a bar..but I still don't eat hard foods, no nuts yet..hang in there!! Try an find something to do to make days go by faster. Its worth it! ! Depression is also normal some get affected. .I've had a few crying days but that's about it. At 6 wks I flew to MB with gfs for 5 days..I paced myself. Still do..I get tired. I'm 2 months an 60 down...have gave 90% of clothes away to gf. .feels good! You can do this. The brain plays tricks on us..keep chin up!

    Let's talk about NSAIDs

    I'm on plaquinil an several other meds. .my meds for autoimmune diseases an prednisone when I need a burst..but had to wait a month out to start the pred. .he wanted tummy to heal before I started them again. No nsaids. Here. He gave me a script topical lotion I use when needed. An I have already ended up at my pcp office she had to give me anti inflammation shots..my sciatica has been given me fits the past few months. Now my feet..my heel spur an tumors under my toes are at it again. .looks like it's time for shots again in my feet. Its been 15 yrs..so it's time. I just don't get nsaids thru tummy..arthritis Tylenol if needed. I've never crushed my meds. I take a gummy multi, b12 shot wkly an found a sublingal b12 melt under tongue..I'll start it tomorrow. .calcium chews. .sorry..this is my regimen an back up...
  24. I manage to eat 2 to 3 oz so I am pretty much mindset on protein first. A few bites grilled chicken seasoned, grilled salmon, tuna seldom, eggs I do like 1 fried egg here an there for a breakfast at times, egg salad I like, avocado luv these, I use pinterest ideas. Tons of things to try. On my plan it has no celery or stringy veggies for 6 months out an I'm just 2 mon. I haven't tried baby carrots yet I'm afraid there to hard for tummy, I like hummus Iv ate a few of the organic lentil crackers with it had to back off the crackers their still carbs..so no no for me. I like refried beans lowfat put some chedder on top an melt..I use organic ground turkey, yogurt kroger has their brand carb master. .all kinds of yummy flavors not fruit on bottom. An I just come across the quest bars...I went into gnc today they carry them. An I still use my chike protein shake coffee flavor. .luv that stuff! Ordered another tub last night from Vitacost. .cheese sticks, grab n go, my bars an quest has several desserts like flavors. .keep on hand..have not eaten lettuce yet. I have had no cramping at all since day 1 from surgery I don't want cramping. .before certain lettuce an the preservatives they use gave me awful cramps so none for me yet. That's just wat I can think of wat I'm eating an keep. Chk out pinterest if u use it...
