    HELP - paniced husband

Did her Dr or nutritionist give her a post op diet? It should say what she is allowed to have. U sound like an amazing supportive husband
  2. If I only want to buy one book. Would it be this one or the earlier ones specific to the surgery I had? Thanks
  3. Mine was the 7th. Lost 10 lbs preop. And 10 after. After the surgery was feeling OK but uncomfortable. Don't think I stayed awake for more than 5 minutes at a time. I had dry mouth and not being able to drink for 24 hours was extremely hard. They gave me shots for no nausea I walked a few hours later. Getting out of the bed was harder then the walking. Shoulder really hurt, and now my other shoulder hurts. Thank g-d by day 4 I was already feeling better, getting out of the house to walk around the block, taking care of the kids, doing basic computer work .. Now a week later, I have slight pain from the incision area and some stomach tightness through out the day, but otherwise I'm basically back to myself. Spent Saturday at synagogue, walking there, then Sunday took kids to the park (I did watch them from the bench most of the time). I do feel winded easily and overall tired but not too bad. Also I can now sleep on my stomach but have to turn over and lay down gently. It's hard to get in the liquids and Protein and really annoying to constantly wait the 5 minutes. Can't see doing that for the rest of my life but. .. I'm allowed to have plain fat free yogurts, cream of wheat, milk, juice, broth, Jello, fat free sugar free pudding and Popsicles. And of course Protein shakes. I totally crave the broth, home made chicken Soup, but I get full so fast. And by the time I get to the 5th bite the soup is cold. One last thing before I finish this long post, in my opinion it's physically and emotionally important to have someone with u. My husband helped so much
  4. Can you please tell me which app you are using that gives 5 minute reminders to eat/drink. For now, I have it on alarm or timer, but then I have to press snooze or reset. I am looking for one that has it automatically going for the whole day I have androids Thanks.
  5. Do u have this set for 5 minutes? It seems like minimum is 20 minutes

    Just keep swimming.......

I had that. I did the 6 months nutritional counseling that my insurance wanted, and then Obama care came along and my insurance changed. The Dr I was working with wouldn't take it anymore. It took another 6 months of making lots of calls and attending many new patients classes until I finally found a doctor and hospital which took my insurance. It's an hour drive away but... However my psych evaluation and 6 months of nutrition carried over. I got it from my first doctor and they were able to use it. Once I found the Dr. They were able to give in my paperwork and a week later insurance approved me and the surgery was scheduled for 3 weeks later
