  1. Hey all!!

Sorry I have been so busy I have neglected LBT for so long!! Hazeleyes!! We will have to meet up sometime!! I have been so bad! I haven't been going to the gym as I have been finishing college!! Ready to go back next week!! Hoping to spend a week getting into shape so I can Zumba again in a few weeks!! I love Jane's class!! She is one of my favorites, however I am sure it will be like starting over again, having to relearn moves I have forgotten! I am so siked I may go Saturday, just to see how long I can hang out in there!! Well I am having great success with my band when I exercise! When I don't I stay still!! In a couple weeks, I am planning on a fill!! Hopefully! Take care all of you newbies!! Please stay in touch!! Next time if anyone needs anything please shoot me an email on here!! I get those sometimes a little faster!! Take care all!

  2. Well, welcome Natasha Z and hey annie!! We miss you! Natasha, I think Kettering has a support group for the Bypass and the band. There is also a group that meets in Dayton, but I am not for sure the location. You can find the site on Dayton Bariatrics Website. You could also ask your surgeon if your planning on being banded or check local sites who provide support groups by googling bariatric surgeons in Dayton.

I usually attend the ladies fitness center in Huber Heights!! I also love to play tennis! I am not any good but I try!! LOL! I also love volley ball and know right where some good volleyball sandlots are, if we could get atleast six people interested!! Okay well I am hanging on for dear life with my weight loss. I scheduled for a fill, but it's not till August which seems like an eternity. I am hoping to get some more weight off by hitting the gym and doing my clinical rounds for three weeks!! Okay take care you all! Be strong and fight the food temptations!! I know I struggle in this too!

  3. Yeah, I enjoy a fuze beverage that is low carb like that and I do count it as my fluids, but I haven't ask my doc. However I don't drink them all the time. I try to enjoy one a day! Sometimes I only have three a week just because I am scared I will crave them all the time. When I did my Protein Shakes the doc said we could count that as Fluid intake but it was still a Water base. The fuze drink is a juice base so I am not sure. I would still be scared that an overload of juice wouldn't be a good thing even though it has Vitamins which is why I stick to just a few of them! Good luck with your findings!

  4. Yeah, I agree with that statement that sometimes the band plays catch up with the fill. Well I hope it gets better you can get to your sweet spot. There is nothing better than that! Well Hopefully some others will chime in and we could set a date for the luncheon..Okay well take care and keep us posted on your progress!!!:)

  5. Special K and all Columbus Bandsters,

Thanks so much for the invites! I am unfortunately staying close to home due to the rise of gas prices...and I won't be able to make it up that way, but as soon as I can I will try to catch up with you all! I hope all of you are doing well and I wish you continued success with your bands!!!!!

  6. So would you say you have good restriction now? Are you only able to keep down fluids? I am debating on a fill. I am trying to learn how to just keep myself busy and not eat, but I find myself snacking a bit too much. I have been really stressed lately and it seems like no food will stay down except food I shouldn't be eating. So my nerves are totally working against me right now. I never eat a whole lot but just more frequent....SO I need to make some better choices and exercise more. Well good luck if you need anything email me. If your local and in the area, I am looking to do a big bandster lunch somewhere where we can all meet up...I am thinking around July or August.....Hopefully...

I don't go to a lot of the support group meetings because of my schedule atleast for the band that is but would love to meet others! Take care!

  7. Okay well here it goes....Levi and Ohio girl, I believe you PB'd but not because you ate bad food, but our bands are very paticular. My band can't even handle bacon, it also can't stand ketchup, or many other things like deviled eggs. The other thing is if I eats solid food and then follow it by something like potatoes that go straight through your band it makes my stomach unhappy. Don't ask me why... It happens every time I have eaten potatoes, but our bands are very different. The potatoes maybe like Fluid going through the band, so the combination of solids and mushies. Dr. Bruce is very nice he does all of my fills. You may not completely be restricted but your band is trying to talk to you. My band has taught me a lot of weird things like when I am upset my food will not go down, then I can't eat very fast. I can't eat early in the morning and I can eat a little more at night. When I am getting ready to start my cycle my band is snug and I can't eat very much. You will get restricted at some point also you will learn more

about your band! Good job following the rules with the eating and drinking. What kind of food are you eating were you eating before your trip? Are you also staying away from the breads, pasta's, and rice? I have 6.5cc's in my 10cc band. I have lost 104lbs so far but even I have my difficult moments. We all have bad days. Keep up the good work.

  8. andielmt,

Hey congrats on how far you have come! Just remember a few things...This takes a lifetime to learn how to eat all over again. Don't beat yourself up. I am sure you didn't gain the weight overnight. You may be losing more inches right now. That is okay too! Just remember that we all make mistakes..Maybe try one week without any treats, see if that helps not to mention, try the water...I have a horrible time with boredom and nervousness. I always go to put food in my mouth when I am not even hungry...I am now trying to tell myself in my head to grab my homework and study my notes every time I get bored. I will also tell you after you get so used to working out and staying busy to avoid food, the less I have really wanted it..Now I am just having a problem sitting still! We all have are gliches..I have only lost like 4 lbs in one month and a half...I am not exercising because of time and I can tell a big difference.. No matter what you do just take it one day at a time...Like anyone else with any type of addiction, it takes time!! Don't give up!!!!

  9. Okay, I had to throw in my two cents here....I love the frapps at starbucks...My favorite is strawberries in cream...But when the make it I ask them to make it light, and I always get a tall size (small). Not all starbucks will do it...But the one at my college hooks me up!! I don't do it everyday, but maybe once a month or every two months. Also for a warm drink I like the sugar free skinny latte with carmel and vanilla shots...MMmmm so yummy!

  10. I made it! I never thought I would make it!! I have lost 101lbs!!! I am so thrilled! I am still hoping to get to onderland by 8/13/07...Which means I need to lose about 48 more lbs, I am really hoping to do it by my band aniversary! Not sure if that is a realistic goal but that is okay! Anyways congrats to everyone here that has gone on before me!! I know we have accomplished something totally amazing when we get here! You are all such an encouragement to me! I am working on new picts to post soon. Take Care!! and Best Wishes!

  11. Okay well I hit the gym this morning and was so glad to see my favorite zumba lady. It felt great to work out today. I have had a long rough week, car wreck that was my fault and just everything that you could imagine going wrong did. I didn't do great on a quiz, I was sad because I have actually done pretty good this year....Anyways, my daughter and I are okay, and I have gotten a great workout today...I worked out for the hour of zumba, then 15 min. elliptical, and 15min on the bike, and strength trained abs and legs...Not to mention I have been walking the dog around the neighborhood...I hit the hundred mark. I am officially down 101 lbs. Which is an awesome victory..So I guess its starting to get better...Okay well it's only took 8 months which is a little longer than some of you but that is okay! I am hoping to get off atleast 30 more before August (hopefully more). Okay well have a great workout weekend!

  12. Wow, Georgia girl that had to be a really sore leg! I am so glad your feeling better and its awesome your getting right back into your cardio! I know that is the most important part!

Wow all this stuff with the band that you have been sharing is so good to know...I never realized that happened a lot, and right now information is power...

Well I am a little sad that I haven't been losing the lbs...like I want but I am thankful that I have lost some inches. My regular zumba lady has been gone and I got to tell you I am so bummed about it. Other ladies that teach zumba are really good too, but they are faster and they jump so much that I get discouraged. Even though I have lost some weight, the knees still give me some problems..Anyways~ I did the zumba class and targeted my abs, and my legs on Satruday, and I have lost my good build up on the elliptical...I only did twenty minutes after Zumba...Hitting the gym tomorrow as it is my day off. Thank God for Monday's off!!!

Clinicals have been crazy, I have seen so many things. I love being at the hospital, but it's a lot to process. I love helping all of the patients I have had so far though! Okay well take care everyone!

  13. WOW Stef! I am sorry about all the troubles, but I think it's awesome that you have come to the decision you have. It takes a lot of strength but I am sure you have it in you. Not only have you made excellent choices as far as exercising but life decisions which will help you keep it off! Please keep us posted, and know that we are always here if you need support.

I am at a standstill with the weight loss but I have had a huge NSV. I am down 8 more inches, and I am thrilled about that. I have been a lot busier since school, and I look forward to a time when I will be able to hit the gym on a normal schedule but for me right now maintaining is good. I really want that extra pound to come off, but it's just not shedding, not sure why but I am thinking about doing liquids for two days, just to see if I can keep remembering how not important food is..The other thing is we are just having so many other battles right now, I believe it is stressing me out and I am once again turning to food for comfort...Lots of things in my life are assisting with this but I need to get in control of this, but for right now I am still moving and I am sure not going back to where I was...and I haven't been that bad but....not great either...Ever been there?

  14. Okay, still fighting for every minute to check in, but I am keeping up on the exercise from this week. Friday, I hit the gym as scheduled doing elliptical for 20 min, zumba class 60 min, and strength training on my back and abs. Then Saturday morning hit it again, for zumba 60 min, eliptical 20 min. I did get a full strength training in so I hope to do that on Monday night.

Rock on Whosyadaddy! I know we are all so proud of you! I hope your proud of yourself! You come such a long way, and because you have been so faithful, look where you are!!! I know you must be feeling so awesome~!

Stefanie~ sounds like you have been one busy girl!

Everyone here is really doing awesome! Congrats all! Keep it up!

  15. Penny-

I am so sorry to hear about your father. My dad passed away in December this past year, so I can understand what your going through. My prayers are with you! I am glad your going back to your schedule. I hope you continue to very well!

I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy getting back to school and starting my clinical groups. It has been very interesting. I am learning and seeing lots of things. I have been really blessed to meet some of the people that I have! I am enjoying everyday, however I am not getting the exercise I should. I just walked this week, I have three days under my belt. Hope to hit the gym tomorrow! I hope all of you are doing well with lots of continued success! Take Care everyone!!!

  16. Hey all!!!

I have missed posting, but I am slowly trying to figure out a schedule...I have been working my tail off with clinicals, and getting used to being on my feet all day. However I have went on some nice walks this week! Anyways hope to hit the gym in the morning. My Friday clinical cancelled so watch out elliptical here I come!! Okay well I just thought I would post in! So many newbies! How awesome! It sounds like your all doing a great job!! Congrats on the race Stefanie! Ceradad it sounds like your going to be one busy guy who is getting a lot of exercise! Whosya, good luck on your 5K! You all are doing awesome!!!!

  17. Wow! SO much great stuff happening on our little thread! Thanks for sharing whosyadaddy! What an accomplishment... Look how far you have come!!

Thanks Stef, I hope I am getting healthier, I am trying extra hard this week, glad all the Easter candy has been thrown out!

Ceradad! Way to go on the workouts! I didn't know that about the adjustments and cardio. I didn't realize we had control over our adjustments either. I know I am getting close since I have 6.5-7cc in my band and I know I should be pretty good for a while so I need to make sure I am doing some on my own. Okay well it's like I forgot how to post pictures, but I am posting them on my sparkspage, and on my myspace. Anyways I am so happy to be back and I think we have a very inspiring thread! Whosyadaddy, congrats on the new bike! I hope when you ride it you never have those same insecurities about riding it! I am sure you will have a blast! You have done wonderful!

Okay so on a weird note, I am adjusting to losing all this weight especially since I still have more to go, and the other day, I got out of my car and some guy whistled at me.. I have to admit, it was still hard, because I still think of myself as being so big, it caught me off guard. All the changes I am sure will take time to get used to and thank God I just keep losing! Okay you all I am on my count down...One more pound to hit 100!!!

I guess I am a little wordy today! Okay well I hope everyone has an extra special week!!!

I have to say I am thinking about purchasing a bike at the end of May, I think your all giving me bike fever!

  18. Okay, I am reporting in and that itself is a miracle!!!! It has been quiet on here... I finally am starting to get better. My son ended up getting sick before the end of the week also. The only person left to get it is my hubby, and he never gets sick. Okay well I hit the gym and did my zumba with my nose running my head aching and the whole nine yards, but I felt like I had the best work out of my life in there yesterday! Woohooo! I am going to say this and it will probably sound kinda gross but it's a cool gross. I have always sweat when I worked out but yesterday I had the best sweat of my life, I noticed how seriously soaked I was! It felt really good! The more weight I loose the more I sweat all over.. We found out later in the class they still had the heat on in our room, hence the heavy sweating. I am so thankful for loosing the weight that I have, and looking forward to more weight loss as I continue this journey. I also did strength training on my legs and abs today. Okay well I just wanted to give you all an update!!! Have a great new week. Sometimes having a few days off makes you appreciate those workouts a little more***

  19. Stef, it sounds like you pretty close to Super Woman! You go girl, it sounds like your making awesome progress!!!

Whosyadaddy- My daughter was sick all weekend, so I guess it's my turn now...Yuck! I hear I am going to be running to a lot of codes for clinicals, so yeah I am a little scared, but I am way better hands on learning verses book learning. Okay take care!!

  20. Okay all hit the gym last night. I did pretty well even though I didn't feel so hot...Elliptical for 30 minutes, and strength training, Zumba class. Okay so I am back at home today with a sore throat...Whats up with that, trying not to get discouraged but I went to the doc because I don't want to be sick during clinicals. Then since no infection just sore throat and red ear tubes, I get no meds just ibuprofen, which I can't take...Ugggghhh, I am trying to be positive but gee whiz....Okay I hope your workouts are going good...Okay it looks like a missed a lot of posts!!! I hope your all having a great week! On a brighter note the sun is shining in OHIO!!! LOL!

  21. Stef, you were diabetic before you were banded and doc didn't tell you? Okay I was confused. Diabetes is so scarry. I knew I would get it if I wouldn't have had the band. I may have already been and just didn't know it. I was one who had the Gestational Diabetes, so I knew I would get it. I can't really imagine how hard I was on my body, being at my highest. *Okay so I have to chime in on the bike thing. My dad used to have Harley's my whole life. Not sure I could ever ride on the back of a sports bike. There is just something about the sound of a Harley. I can still close my eyes and remember the sound.

I am back...After a hard week of finals, it's over...Thank you God! I worked my butt off, got the grades, and I am off to clinicals. I am going with one of my friends to go scrub shopping!! I am so siked...Anyways I am off all week after Monday's training and I so plan to be at that gym.

Easter is killing me, since I still have the little ones...Uggghhh candy all over my house...I did get only small baskets this year even for my kids. I did a few more toys than chocolate, but I had to buy them a little..They will get like three baskets so, I don't want to over do it.. Okay so I am not sure if I am hitting the gym today or not. Daughter was sick with the stomach flu, and we still seem to be having a small fever, but hey I won't complain because I have all week off.

Okay well I just wanted to write in and say, "HI". Hope your all having great workouts. I will write in after I work out.

  22. Penny,

I just now saw your thread. I hope your doing well. It took me about a good two weeks to start feeling really good again. My throat hurt probably worse than anything else....Even worse than the incisions. I didn't do ice but I took a warm sheet and had hubby put it in the dryer and put it over my stomach and I took the pain meds....I didn't take them as long as I was supposed to but I had to take care of my children too. Well I hope your doing well. I just got done with finals and I am just flat exhausted. I feel so drained that I could sleep.I have try to do some spring cleaning this week! Looking forward to sunnier days!!
