  1. Just wondering if you had your surgery yet and if so how it went?
  2. I live in Ohio and would love to be part of this group.
  3. Great!!! I'm so excited to have the surgery but nervous all the same. Really I'm just excited for the final results. I'm hoping to have my surgery in February or March.
  4. I'm having mine in Lancaster at Fairfield hospital. Don't have a date yet, hopefully will by end of January. How are you feeling?
  5. Wow that's great. So happy for you!!
  6. That's GREAT news congrats. Couldn't be more excited for you!!!
  7. I'm in groveport Ohio and pre surgery
  8. What insurance company keeps denying you?
  9. My doctor did the same thing, I called to verify it was covered and then the insurance rep at the doctors office called to verify. The doctors office is used to working with the insurance companies so they may even have the coveted benefit on file already.
  10. I have UHC choice plus but not they General Electric. My insurance does require the six months doctor monitored weight loss but that varies depending on your particular policy. You should be able to log onto your UHC and find the requirements and if not then you can call and ask a rep. Plus your dr office should be able to tell you. Good luck in your journey!!!
  11. Jam mill have you received your insurance approval yet? Just curious. Good luck!
  12. Lingal- thank you for reaching out to me. I'm right there with ya girlie. Excited and nervous. Seems like this surgery has been an eternity in the making, and I'm ready for the finale. Couldn't be more excited for you! We will definatly have to share stories and nerves...lol! Good luck, keep us posted!
  13. Keep us posted. Fingers crossed for you!!
  14. No I have my appointment with him on September 21 so I'll let you know what happens.
  15. Mia83-no they have not submitted to insurance yet. They won't until I complete all necessary steps. So hoping for approval in October or November but we will see. I don't have to submit five years. It's not a requirement of my policy but I do gave to do the six months. Let me know what you find out and I'll keep you posted as well.
  16. I have UHC thru my husbands company, and am hoping for a quick approval. I know that it is covered on his insurance and I meet the criteria. they do require a 6 month doctor supervised weight program, but I have been seeing a doctor in KY every other month since last April, so I am hopeful doing that and the 3 months with Dr. Custer that they will approve it and not make me do an additional 3 months. I really want the surgery before the end of this year, so fingers crossed please.
  17. I have UHC choice plus and it is covered under my insurance policy. It may just be an exclusion thru your company's benefits but not thru the actual insurance company. I think a lot of companies are putting an exclusion rider on their policy about WLS. I'm so sorry, I hope you can figure something out and get it approved.
  18. So I had my first consultation wit Dr. Custer and his team. They were all so nice and very informative, I also had my first nutrition appointment. I go on the 21st of this month to have my psych evaluation, dietitian appointment, and see the exercise specialist. next nutrition appointment is on the 19th of this month. I see the Baritition on the 16th of September and then my last nutrition appointment is on the 30th of September. Once I have all these appointments completed then Pam will submit for insurance approval. OMG - I am so excited, I can't hardly stand myself. I have wanted this surgery for about 7 years and now it is right in front of me. I received the approval in the mail on Saturday for my psych evaluation - so that is a move in the right directions. I am hoping for surgery by the end of the year but time will tell depending on what the insurance reviewer says. Wish me luck all, and please keep me informed about yourself and your surgery.
  19. Groveport OHIO here. Getting my surgery done by Dr. Custer in Lancaster. don't have a date yet, as I am just starting my journey. I already had my consultation and have my psych evaluation, dietitian appointment, and exercise appointment on the 21st of this month. Will be done with all appointments and classes by September 30th then will get submitted to insurance. I can't wait. Good luck to everyone.
  20. Great job!! You also keep up the great work. Sounds like your doing great sand on the right path!!
  21. I'm so excited y'all. My initial consultation wasn't until the 11th of August but the doctors office called and had a cancellation for tomorrow morning....YEA! Getting the opportunity to start this process 3 weeks early. Excited to speak with Dr. Custer and hear his thoughts and opinions . I will also talk to the insurance person to find out what exactly my insurance requirements are. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
  22. I have my first consultation August 11, so we will see what happens.
  23. Omg this thread is making me nervous I have UHC choice plus they my husbands company and my surgeons office said they love working with UHC. Easiest approval but according to this UHC has been a nightmare. I'm just starting my journey so now I'm feeling a little paranoid they could deny me.
