OUCH!
I ate too much last night - and it hurt to be too full. Here's what I did wrong: 1. I used a normal plate. It's what too easy to think it's a small portion when it's not. salad PLATES!! 2. I used normal utensils. Best thing I've bought for myself is a beautiful stainless steel set of baby utensils. Not expensive on Amazon, and they REALLY make me take smaller bites and be reasonable. 3. I ate too fast. We were in a bit of a hurry - I could have eaten more slowly, but I was FEELING rushed, so I rushed. Learned my lesson!! Believe me, I won't be making those mistakes again!

Constipation (TMI?) Solution for newbies
Vita-fusion makes a Fiber gummy, too - I really like them. 2 dummies =5 grams fiber = 10 calories. No sugar. No carbs. I have two in the morning, two when I get home from work, and usually another 1 or 2 before bed. They're that yummy.

Sleeping positions :)
I'm 17 days out, and for the last week or so, I've been on my side or of my tummy most of the night. No problems. Right at first, I'd lay on my back, and sometimes on my side, but I'd use a pillow to support my belly when I was on my side.

How's my calories?
Sadly, so far is less of a stall than a reverse. I lost 20 pounds the week of surgery (surgery was a Monday) and gained 10 back the next week. I'm scared

Wow - Kindle - You've done GREAT! I'm one inch shorter, and started about 4 pounds heavier, but I'm headed where you are now.

How's my calories?
My plan calls for a week or so of liquids, the puree, then soft. I'm eating soft already. The purees just weren't doing it for me.

How's my calories?
I'm just shy of two weeks post sleeve. I'm actually gaining weight at this point, which is really freaking me out. How many calories should I be eating at this point?

Am I just broken?
Sleeved on 11/3. I lost 20 pounds last week - weighed the night before surgery, and then again on Saturday night after the surgery. So far, so good, right? I mean I'm aware of the dreaded3-week stall, but I'm a week and a half out, so I'm not there yet. Right? BUT - insert whine here - I've GAINED 4 pounds since Saturday night. WHAT THE EVER-LOVING WHAT???

First week post-surgery
Monday - Surgery day- went fine. I had visitors in my room after that I don't even remember. Typical for me with anesthesia. Tuesday - Also a pretty good day. Got down my 2 Protein shots and some broth, got some lovely meds, not a bad day at all. I got sent home in plenty of time to vote and then crashed at home. Wednesday - sucked monkey balls. Big, fat, smelly monkey balls. And all my fault. I got scared of becoming addicted to the liquid Lortab, so the only dose I took was at night before bed on Tuesday. That night got rough a little after midnight. Wednesday was worse. There is no name as vile as those I called myself for deciding to have this surgery, etc. I was afraid to take my normal meds, which they specifically said I could do, and though I did try to get a protein shot down, I gagged and gave up. I don't know where all this came from, but I was just afraid of the Lortab. Thursday - a repeat of Wednesday, magnified by 100. OhHolyMotherOfPearl! Fortunately, I had my first follow-up with the surgeon. I got the same lecture three times - well, more than three time, but by three people. I am taking the Lortab (OhGloriousDay!), and they said I can make the shakes with Water instead of the protein shots. I really can't get them down anymore. But the shakes are going well. Friday - I woke honestly thinking I should go on back to work. Glad I didn't. My energy and stamina runs out far too early to survive the whole day at work. But a good day overall. HOWEVER - I feel empty inside, like I used to feel after a full day of fasting. Not just hungry, but empty. Gas continued working its way out - HEAVEN! - and I stopped the Lortab and took only Tylenol during the day. I did take Lortab last night, but just one dose as bedtime. Today - Another good day. Haven't needed Lortab since last night, and not even much Tylenol today. The empty feeling inside isn't going away or getting better. I made one scrambled egg and managed to eat half, and I've had a little applesauce, not much, but some. That seems to have helped some. I know, I know - its too soon for anything but Clear liquids. But I did it anyway, and it's been over an hour without any ill effects. One question - how long does the gas last?

Surgery Tomorrow
I'm getting more and more anxious - am I really ready? Can I even do it? You know, the usual. My husband is nervous, too -they way his experiences have taught him, hospitals are where people go to die. So he's nervous about just having the surgery. My son is fairly oblivious - just realized this afternoon that my surgery is tomorrow. He didn't seem upset or worried at all. We have a big family dinner on Sunday nights, so I'm cooking and will sit with while I sip my last shake. Then I need to pack a small bag for the hospital. And calm myself! Anxiety is not pretty on me!

Bariatric Advantage Chewy Bites
I've been chewing these blasted things, and to be honest, it's not that there bad that bothers me. It's that they are SO bad that once you finally manage to chew it and swallow completely, you can't believe it could possibly have been that bad and you have to have another right away to prove it. GGAAHH!! Can't they make good ones, like the non-bariatric Calcium chews?

Scared!
Surgery is Monday, and I'm TERRIFIED! Am I making the right decision? I've only lost like 6 pounds on the liquid diet (2 weeks of it, and I get a small meal once a day) - CAN I EVEN DO IT? AAAAGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
One program here has a fee; mine does not. I was told the fee was to cover their costs in reviewing my paperwork to see if I was eligible Sounded sketchy to me. Obviously, I did not go with them

Does your employee handbook actually specify how much notice you must give for what type of medical treatment? File for FMLA and let them bite it!

Annoyed and disappointed
Just spoke to the ins coordinator at the docs office. She said don't worry about it, I'll never see a bill and I'm not responsible for paying for that. When!

Annoyed and disappointed
The Insurance Coordinator in the doc's office is out until tomorrow, but I left her a message. I mean, I'll have to just cancel surgery, and they won't make any money that way. I'm hoping she can do something. My insurance company was surprisingly pleasant. The rep I spoke with is going to appeal it for me, and they will need to contact the doc's office tomorrow as a part of that. So, maybe there's a smudge of hope after all.
