  1. I use GENEPRO with the approval of my NUT. IT IS AWESOME! Instead of a huge scoop it is just a tablespoon and has 30 grams of Protein and 98 calories and I believe it's 3 carbs. You can mix it in hot or cold. I use a scoop of vanilla Unjury, a cup of skim milk, a little sugar free pudding powder I love the banana cream and add a tablespoon of Genepro and some ice cubes mis it in a blender and I get 59 grams of protein in one shake. I drink one every morning then I only have to get a little more protein to meet my goal and it's simple!

  2. I heard that you notice first, then family and close friends and then finally acquaintances. Feel good about yourself your doing great. Now people notice and call me skinny. LOL. Which is no where near true, I still have 50 pounds to go. When they finally start to notice and say something they will annoy you in another way by continuously asking "how much weight have you lost?" When I heard a co worker say.....you have lost a half of a person, I quit telling them how much I lost. So believe me it's always something and people can be oblivious! You keep going!

  3. I get in 80-110 grams of Protein a day. I have to work 40 hours plus work at home. I don't think your lazy. Because I have to push myself to work out. I do workout but my NUT said to work out every other day because I was wailing about 5 miles a day and was burning myself out. Caring for 2 (3 if you count your husband) is exhausting in itself. But if you could find at least 30

Minutes a day it would make you feel better. Good luck superwoman! You seem to be losing just fine.

  4. Wed will be 4 weeks. Will weigh at doctor's. Don't have a scale. Pants I wore today were looser. Caught a tiny glimpse of collar bone! Been eating eggs, ground turkey, tuna, shakes, no issues. Was told to start experimenting. My plan is to eat very healthy; however, as a Texan, I was obligated to choose as my first "real" food today: a very tiny beef fajita taco. Chewed it to death. Took forever to eat. Don't want another one any time soon. But it was such a relief to know I could eat one of my favorite "normal" food items, just a few bites of it, enjoy it, and tolerate it well. I think I am going to make it through this after all. :)

    That's awesome! Good job!

  5. I'm so sorry for your experience but I do not agree that some people may need to be scared "straight " in order to experience what surgery is like. I have not had your type of surgeries (mastectomy) but I clearly stated that recovery is based on age , health, and weight. I feel that there are people pissed that I enjoyed my experience. Wow what's the deal with that!!!!?! I'm not saying after surgery I did a 5 k but I am saying that I Enjoyed My Experience and I didn't have excessive Pain. Im not a victim not fat or skinny nor will I follow the woe is me trend sorry about Your experience but thank God for mine.

Again glad you had a good experience, I don't believe it is based on health or weight. I did not have any co morbitities and I had 80 pounds to lose and I just turned fifty so I am not really that old. I didn't say anything about someone being scared straight just informed. It's good to read all views. Not everyone has the perfect experience and not everyone has a hard time. But the people that do have problems post questions or their experiences are legit. I am not pissed at all about your experience. I hope you continue to do really well and succeed.

  6. Glad your surgery went well. I have had a double mastectomy along with an expander that was implanted immediately after my mastectomies to expand my chest muscles for re-

Construction. The pain I had from the sleeve was worse. I am not saying I would not do it again. Because it is a very useful tool. The journey is not an easy one for everyone and everyone should be prepared. Not scared just

Prepared. We are all different. I wish everyone could have the kind of recovery that you did. That would be great. But it is good for people researching to know it could go in different directions. That is the benefit of these forums. People have all sorts of questions and 9 times out of 10, there is someone else who has had the same experience. It's great!

  7. I eat about an ounce or an ounce and a half. I don't get nauseated when eating or drinking. Only when I wake up in the morning. Not even when I get up in the night for bathroom breaks. It's strange. I asked my doctor and he asked what time I ate and what time I got up in the morning. Then didn't really have an answer as to why all of a sudden it

Started. I curious to see what your

    Doctor says.

  9. Oh my gosh me too! It's only when I wake up and sometimes bad enough I have to take a Zophran. I have never had nausea and cannot relate it to anything I ate. I don't know what is going on. I too will be six weeks on Monday. Please let me know if you figure it out. It is driving me crazy. My doctor does not think its dehydration as I get in lots of fluids and my Protein too. Oh and I eat almost exactly the same time every night. About 7:30.

  10. I am so excited I have to go tonight to get another new pair of jeans that fit! I buy the same style and brand every time as it helps me gauge how far I have come. Lol. So I get to drop another size tonight. Yippee! Just in time for a trip to

Chicago this weekend. scale don't move fast enough for me but drop jean sizes about every two to three weeks. Hoping by Christmas to be in a size 8. That is my goal!

  11. Hello. We are about the same post op. I started to exercise and felt light headed as well. You have to compensate and make sure you are getting the Water in. I was told to increase my carbs a little. The body needs it for fuel. I also make sure that I eat something or drink a Protein shake before I exercise. When I did that, I did not feel light headed anymore. Listen to your body, its telling you something. And listen to your NUT as well. Why the big rush to lose weight so quickly? It will come off. Our bodies are still adjusting.

    Later loser!

I am not in a hurry, it's coming off. I just like to exercise now. I get lots of Protein in. I will increase my carbs a bit and see how that works for me. Thanks.

  12. I have about 40 - 50 pounds to go, before surgery I walked close to 10 miles a day. Now I am so exhausted its hard to get in 5 miles. I am getting a little wobbly and light headed. I feel like I am getting dehydrated but the Dr was not so convinced of that of that. I am about 6 weeks post op and besides the first week have been feeling great except for the last few days when I am just exhausted. I get in over 100 grams of Protein. Most of my Water too but I have fallen short on water. Idk. But it is disappointing because I wanted to exercise a lot to lose faster.

  13. Omg I'm so happy to read this thread! I'm 3 weeks out all this past week after losing 17 lbs nothing happened NO LOSE in spite of walking daily over 4 miles and following completely my diet plan! :-( I was feeling very down till I read this!

Same here was sleeved 8-25. I now only weigh once a week. I weigh on my Wii fit so it makes it just a tiny bit more inconvenient.

I have found that better because I was not losing fast enough for me either. Some people lose really fast but it may have something to do with how much people have to lose. I had lost just over 60 pounds since May31st so all my Water weight was gone already. I am doing what I am supposed to as far as Protein and walking so I am doing my part now the scale needs to do its part! I was hoping to get the 30 pound weight loss the first mint like some others, but we are all different with different pasts so I will have to take it as it comes. I try not to compare myself to others but it is very hard to do.

  14. I do somewhat feel ashamed. I feel like when I tell people I'm going to have the surgery they have this look like, "you're taking the easy way out." I've even had someone just as obese as I am tell me I don't need the surgery and that I can do it on my own. I think they meant it as a compliment like I have the drive to do it. I feel like my all the willpower during the day but at night it leaves me and I gorge. My surgeon laughs and says he can fix that.

On a side note, he's using the da vinci which is a robot to do the surgery, has anyone else had theirs done that way?

    I had Davinci robotic surgery.
