Ummm! I'm 2.5 years post-op and I had chicken bruschetta tonight. It was incredible. chicken tenderloins with a basil/garlic/Tuscan seasoning marinated in olive oil and spread over the chicken and fire roasted tomatoes. Served over a bed of spaghetti squash with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Very healthy and delicious.
Tomorrow night it will be baked salmon with Cajun seasoning and asparagus. Saturday it will be Hamburger patties grilled with a little cheese and green chilis. Side salad or some vegetable if they look incredible at the market.
Oh yeah, I had huevos rancheros for Breakfast. No tortilla, refried black Beans with an egg on the Beans smothered in a low fat homemade green chili stew and a splash of cheese.< /p>
    Love the band. Rock on!!

Me and Miss Pearlie have become such a good team. It took us some time, but we finally know each other very well and have a wonderful relationship with each other. I treat her right and she keeps me in check, so I guess you could call her my BFF now. Our friendship started off kind of rocky, I mean the day after I got her I really wondered what the hell I was thinking and wishing I could rip her out of my body on my own! It was torture. She was all up in there squeezing things that hadn't been squeezed before, making me hate the sight, smell and thought of food, she didn't want me to sleep, half the time I didn't want to drink either. I hated her @$$ and wished we'd never met! Little did I know, she was just making herself at home and once she got settled we were both very comfortable.
Miss Pearlie has given me quite a few surprises along the way. I mean, this girl can be a TRIP sometimes!!! She hates extreme cold, she hates extreme heat, one day she likes a food, the next she's going to hurl it back at me...I really had to figure this chick out and she's a mystery woman who doesn't reveal her secrets without a LOT of begging and pleading. Diva? No, try b!tch...but how many things are one dimensional in life? Along with her Voodoo Queen moments, Pearlie can be an angel, too! She is nice enough to let me know what she won't tolerate BEFORE I even eat it now and she's constantly looking out for my best interest while giving me amazing weight loss results. The proof is in the numbers, she has me below my personal goal and I'm still losing. She's a sweetheart for the most part and I'm so grateful for the day we met. I wish I had kissed her before she went in, had I known how wonderful of a friend she would be I would have demanded to do so. She deserves it.

The band will tell you when you've eaten enough once it's adjusted properly. And you'll need to look for the soft stop signals like burping, hiccups, sighs, runny nose etc. Of course, feeling like you've eaten enough is the big signal, or, when a meal begins to look unappetizing is a good time to stop.
You're in the beginning stages now so you can probably eat much more but that doesn't mean you should. Until your band is adjusted this is just a diet and my recommendation is to try to eat healthy but try not to feel deprived.
Your picture seems a little anemic. Looks like 1/3 cup of brisket? That's fine if you're feeling satisfied. If not, maybe a little more.
And there's no reason not to eat bread and potato salad unless you're trying to avoid carbs? This shouldn't be about dieting or feeling hunger and deprivation. There are some members here who weigh and measure every bite they eat. I'm not one of them and they may have a different take on this.

I know we can't eat much (I'm only post-op one week) but let me tell you... I was so excited to have some blended up chili today!!! I even cried, I was so excited!
My least favorite food during the first week was sugar free Jello... YUCK!
