  1. dlamp112 let me know what your doc says. matt1912 that's awesome! I wish I could have gotten the sleeve but it was like over $5000 more.
  2. Ponce, stupid auto correct lol
  3. I'm in Dalton. Did Dr. Ponca do your surgery?
  4. I feel the same way, 2 fills and still eating/hungry. So stressed out abt gaining. Ugh
  5. I was banded in June & I too am at a stand still. I've had two fills but still feel like I'm eating to much. Its so frustrating!
  6. My surgery was June 16th & I had a really rough time. So when I went for my 1st fill on the 14th the doc said we were just gonna take baby steps & only put in a cc, which they had already removed a cc a few wks before bc of all the trouble I was having. My problem is I'm eating to much now & I've gained a few pounds & I'm freaking out! I didn't pay this much money to gain weight!! My next appt is not until August 19th. Should I try to go sooner b4 I pack on 20lbs?!?!
  7. Thank you ProudMary! That's since June 2nd when I started the liquid diet, I'm super excited! My grandmother asks me like everyday if its worth it bc I've had such a hard time & my answer is always the same.......YES, it will be eventually. Lol
  8. I was banded June 16th & as I've mentioned in other posts it's been miserable! I was finally able to start eating on July 4th. I was having such a hard time they ended up removing a cc of the "primary fluid" abt 2 wks after my surgery, I was so sick feeling & was having really bad muscle spasms they called me in 3 different meds to help with all my problems. I know this is considered T. M. I but over the weekend I thought I was gonna die bc I hadn't went to the bathroom in alil over 2 weeks. Y'all I swear this thing is gonna be the death of me! Lol. I went today for my 1st fill & they weren't sure if they were going to do it bc all the trouble I've been having. She ended up only putting in a cc & said we were just gonna take baby steps. Which I'm totally fine with! I'm not pushing anything other than sips of clear liquids. It amazes me when I read stories about the great progress some of you are making. Way to go! I know we're all here for the same reasons & we can do it! This is a good time to be "losers"!
  9. Yes, I felt so restricted & couldn't eat or drink for about 5 days. Don't force it, your still healing. Good luck. I'm getting my 1st fill tomorrow & I'm not looking forward to it.
  10. Congrats & good luck to both of y'all. I was out patient as well so not much advice on that lol. But like Bandista said, WALK, WALK, & WALK some more. It really does help. I wasn't nervous at all! I guess bc I was so obsessed & ready to get my life back. I will say its not been easy, but everyone is different. Just listen to ur body & doctor. I go tomorrow for my 1st fill & I'm not looking forward to going back on liquids & basically starting over when I finally just starting eating last week. But it'll be ok & I know totally worth it! 2MuchFun, love ur post.
  11. I've taken it two different times, the first time was great! I lost 68 pounds in three & a half months. But, like the others said it only works for a short time & you end up packing it all back on. Plus some! The second time I think I lost like forty pounds. My sister is currently taking it for the first time & she likes it bc she has so much energy.
  12. I try to drink as much as I can & I agree it would be much easier with a straw. Its so bad I'm getting horrible dry mouth at night & wake up a blue million times bc of it. Ugh!
  13. Lol. It was good after not being able to eat for so long. Thanks, I'll love for those at my local drugstore.
  14. Well I gotta say, this 4th of July was the best! I had my band June 16th & had been miserable everyday. I wasn't eating or drinking bc I felt so restricted, I was tired & moody. It was awful! But Friday my mom brought me a butter & sour cream baked potato & I thought to myself I'm eating this! Well it took me 2 days to finish it & it was amazing! Amazing to finally chew, to have actual FOOD in my mouth, just pure bliss! Since Friday I've ventured out & had some scrambled eggs, refried beans with sour cream & fish. I'm doing great but still trying to take it easy for fear of that "stuck feeling". So for anyone that's still having a rough time, I promise it'll get better. I know all you "veteran banders" told me it would. It sucked having to wait that long but worth it bc I know I'm on my way to a healthier me!!
  15. That's a great way to stay busy! Put those things on fb & sell them.
  16. Romana, my surgery was June 16th & I'm still on liquids. I've had a horrible time so I feel your pain.
  17. Its been 17 long days since I got my band & I'm miserable!! After pulling out a cc of primary Fluid, being on 3 different medications & still just doing liquids (when I can) I still feel so restricted. I'm dying of thirst bc I'm having such a hard time swallowing. I can't sleep bc my mouth is so totally dry, I've had a headache for 2 days & I'm starting to snap at the hubby over little things. I keep thinking its gonna get better but when?!?! Anyone else having trouble or am I just a weirdo??
  18. I only went with the band bc I was cash pay and it was cheaper. I really, really wanted the sleeve & wish I could have gotten it. I'm 17 days post op & have been miserable every day. I can barely sip Water bc I feel so restricted, but everyone is different. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  19. Glad you are doing good. I was on a 2 week liquid Protein shake diet. I did great, I didn't cheat at all. My surgery was June 16th & I've been having a pretty hard time. I'm still on liquids only which sucks. Seems like everything makes me sick feeling or gag, but I'm not hungry so that's good! I hope you continue to do well! Take care.
  20. Glad you all are doing good. My surgery was June 16th & I'm dwn 31lbs. I'm miserable! I can't eat or drink! I posted yesterday abt them taking out abt a cc of what they called "primary fluid" Friday (which she said is rare). I feel nauseated, start to gag or dry heave & I'm running a low grade fever (99.4). They called me in some Levsin which is supposed to help with spasms & swelling but this sick feeling is awful! I'm going to call them back tomorrow I guess. I've been reading on here abt ppl eating & drinking & not getting that "stuck" feeling but I can't even take a sip of water w/o feeling that way. I went almost 5 days like that! I'm really getting discouraged thinking I'm never gonna feel normal again. The thought of food makes me sick. Anybody else have these problems?
  21. That's EXACTLY how I feel! I'm 12 days post op & can barely drink let alone eat anything. Today I tried drinking a half of cup of broth & immediately started getting sick. This has happened 2 other times today but then I was just trying to sip Gatorade. I threw up this white foamy stuff. I posted earlier about not eating or drinking for 4 days & went to the doc yesterday. They pulled a cc of "primary fluid" out. They said this rarely happens but I felt so restricted & miserable. I feel better today that's why I tried the broth. I swear I don't ever think I'll ever get past liquids! Lol They called me in some Levsin to help my stomach. I think you should def call your doc.
  22. The doc told me to eat & drink the things on my list bc the 1st month is abt healing the band more than trying to lose the weight. I'm still not abt to eat anything tho. My surgery was June 16th. I actually had to get a cc of "primary fluid" removed yesterday bc I went 4 days w/o eating or drinking bc I felt so restricted & stuck.
  23. I was banded June 16th. I had to do the liquid protein shakes 2 wks b4. I'm still on liquids bc I had such a hard time with mushies on day 8 post op. I finally had to go to the doc yesterday bc I couldn't eat or drink anything for almost 4 days. They removed abt a cc of "primary fluid" & I'm feeling better today. I still haven't ate anything for the simple fact that I'm scared. That "stuck" feeling is AWFUL! I still can't imagine eating real food but I'm not hungry so that's good. I've lost a total of 31lbs since I started on June 2nd. I've got A LOT more to go & I keep freaking out thinking it's not gonna happen. I love reading all the success stories on here. It really keeps me motivated!
  24. Well today was no better. I was barely able to sip Water let alone think about food. I finally called the doctor this afternoon & they called me in some Levsin. If I'm not felling better they want me to come in Friday morning. I did fine on the Carnations & was planning on doing that this morning but that didn't happen. I'm not hungry I'm just about to thirst to death! They said I could have stage 2 baby food but surely there's something better whenever I do get ready, no time soon tho! Thank you all for responding.
