Hi, I am 12 days post op and I feel good but I understand what you mean about the stomach gurgling. I am not sure someimes if I am hungry, little gasy orjust healing. No sure if I am also having phantom hunger pains as go to eat and after two bites it goes away.

Hi all, today I am 5 days post op and doing great, had no gas or nausea in hospital or since I have been home. Tummy and stomach pain but that is me recoverying. I am really focusing on getting loquids and protiens in and going ok. Stomach gets upset some times but think this is drinking to much at one time or to fast (still learning). Making smoothies with my protien dri today had some refriend Beans and cheese from Taco Bell about 2 ounces. I beleive this is sooner then should but really wanted something with some texture, and so far so good, tummy gurgling a little but think all ok.

Hi, first congrats! Are you able to eat and drink now with noissuigs just maller portions?
Yesterday was my one year surgiversary of the sleeve. I was so nervous about it, but it was one of the best decisions I've made. I've lost 131 pounds and counting. My foot pain is gone, I'm active and feel great. I've gone from a size 22 to an 8 and actually enjoy shopping now. I'm able to do any activities my kids ask of me. I couldn't be happier!

Congrtas, great accomplishment. 10 weeks out, how are yo feeling over all. Would yo do it again? Are you able to eat out and eat with others with out feeling self concious for the small portions? Can you eat a sandwich or salad? You can swallow and drink normal now? Has anyone had a cocktail?
I am about 10 weeks post op. Lost about 46 lbs, stalls are a very realistic part of my journey so I've quit weighing myself. I made myself a 'fitness bucket list' which were several exercise related achievements. One of them was to climb this local mountain that I've seen others climb throughout the years but have never physically felt able to.
So yesterday my BFF (who is a personal trainer ) came with me while I climbed to the top. It was so tough but I never stopped till I reached the top. What a great feeling and even better workout!!
Here's a few pics. -
I am having suregy in a few weeks and you are making me nervous I am scared not going to be able to get anything down.

How hard in beginning first few weeks is it really to get fluids and food down? Is it because swallon? Doesit hurt to swallow or just not much room to go down? Does it change in time get easier to drink and eat?
You're going to have bad days. I realized last night that I hadn't drank ANYTHING since I came home from work last night. It was almost 4 hours... Luckily I'd drank enough during the day to meet my 64 oz goal, but it still bothered me.
Do your best and move on. Tomorrow is a new day. This is a new hour... don't keep repeating the same mistakes.

Congrats, how long after surgery before you felt back to normal with eating and drinking just smaller portions?

that is great
I had my 3 month post op visit today and I am down 85 pounds since I started this process in November 2013.

Hi I am not sure buy how long since surgery? Hope you feel better
I have spent lots of $$ on various different Protein Shakes, all of which make me nauseous. I am sitting here feeling the after effects of one, broke out in the usual sweat feeling horrible. I was lectured by the nutrionist today that if I dont drink 3 Protein shakes per day, I will lose my muscle, become weak, and lose my hair. I am eating pureed chicken and other protein no problem. But she tells me my stomach cannot absorb the protein in food right now so protein shakes are my only alternative. She suggested mixing fruit, Peanut Butter into plain Protein Powder or trying Syntex nectar. I seriously don't want to spend more money, and now the thought and smell of the shakes make me want to gag. I was reading on here about rolling protein powder into peanut butter balls? I am desperate, not wanting to lose my hair. What about drinking egg whites? Has anyone tried it? Please, any suggestions on how to drink more protein.

Hi I do not regret having my surgery and I would do it all over again I am 3 weeks post opt and my health has greatly approved I was a diabetic type 2 and no longer on any diabetic medications and I was taking 6 shots a day of insulin, I am off high cholesterol medication and I am only taking a half pill my blood pressure medication and will be off that soon. The first couple of days were rough with the gas but after the gas came out I was feeling great with the exception of a back pain that lasted a week. I have lost almost 40 pounds at 3 weeks post opt and I am looking toward more weight lost. Good luck.
Thank you for all this knowledge, I am exicted but so scared. The whole removing most of yur stomach keeps freaking me out. Would love to chat more please stay in touch

Thank you so much for that. Letting it get in my head and question if I should do this. You would do it again.
Hello, I had the same response from some of my friends who are also heavy-set and I just had to set aside their comments and realize that this is my body and that I was going to do what was best for me. I think that their negativity stems from lack of knowledge about the various bariatric surgeries available. Try not to let it get you down and move forward with what you feel is in your best interest. Good luck to you. I am on day 6 post op and despite being unable to consume all of my Protein and fluids for the day I have no regrets. I just keep telling myself that tomorrow will be better.

My husband is 100% supportive but I do get concerned that he really doesnt not undestand the magnitude of change making.
Sorry to hear it. I have been lucky to have not run into the non-supportive types. I've also kept it fairly close to the vest and have only told a few people.
Is your spouse on board? -
Congrats, sleeve surgery?

I am looking for informatad supporters going through same experience with sleeve surgery. I am pre op surgery date 7-10, freaking out a bit

Hi =
