Any May 20th surgeries out there?

I was sleeved on 5/21. No regrets! I've had a few stalls here and there but progress has been steady. At surgery I was 260 and my current weight is 221. I was doing really with my walking everyday but have fallen off these last few weeks as things have gotten busy but really want to make it a priority. I still have an issue with acid reflex but as long as I'm diligent about taking Prilosec I seem to do fine.

    8 weeks out!

I had a stall about 3 weeks out as well when I switched to mushy foods and had terrible reflex so wasn't getting much good in at all. After getting Prilosec and increasing my calories while keeping up my protein I moved past it. I'm 4.5 weeks out and am down 26 lbs from my surgery weight. Still have a ways to go but am feeling great.

    Acne after surgery?

My skin looked great after surgery. I never had a huge problem before but if surgery and the hydration factor really helped out.
  4. Today is my official 4th week. All I can say is it does get better. I had terrible gas pain. I stopped taking pain meds and got gas x and that helped. Walking really does help too. The sipping gets better too. Sometimes when you are in the thick of it it's hard to remember what it feels like to feel good again but it will happen. I'm still waiting to feel completely normal but I feel 100% better than last week and 200% better than the week before.

How soon did you return to work?

I took 10 days. That was perfect for me.

    May 19-23 Sleevers, Roll Call!

My physician had me go on chewable Vitamins like Flintstones vitamins. They aren't pleasant but you don't have to swallow them to try and keep them down. I had my surgery 5/21 and went out to dinner with friends last night. I had a small glass of wine and just had a bite of each appetizer. I went slow and didn't have much of an issue. Upping my Prilosec has definitely helped with the very uncomfortable feeling of having more solid food. But I do agree it's very hard that seemingly every social event revolves around drinking and eating.

    Diet question

I was sleeved on 5/21 and had a terrible time moving from liquid to puréed foods after the initial 2 weeks. It took about 5 days for my stomach to settle into it and some Prilosec to help out with acid reflux. I can still only eat a few teaspoons of anything at a time and I still get gurgling but if that happens I just stop eating and let it settle. The pain in the side I still get but is SO much better at week 3.
  8. I went back to work when I was still on liquids and said I was on a juice- like fast. That way everyone understood why I wouldn't eat when we went out or why I would refuse the Starbucks run. Now that I can eat food I usually just stick to ordering soup. But I'm still only 3.5 weeks out.

    May 19-23 Sleevers, Roll Call!

I was sleeved May 21st and had my first post op visit with the surgeon today and am down 22 pounds. Going from the 2 week post liquid diet to mushy food was hard for me. I had acid reflux with any bite of mushy food but now on Prilosec which seems to be helping and can now eat more than one bite at a sitting I'm very excited for this journey and have fears of not being successful as I'm sure have passed through everyone's mind once or twice but I remain positive and hope the weight keeps coming off as it has so far.
