    need prayers.

Misty I am so sorry for your loss! Lots of prayers sent your way.
  2. The best way to get gas out is to walk it out.
  3. I had RNY on 7/9. I was doing really good the day after and then I had a bad reaction to the morphine. My 2 night stay ended up being a 4 night stay. I have 2 incisions one in the middle and one on my left side. On my left side I had a JP Drain. I am still taking my pain meds frequently. I try stretching it past every 4 hours sometimes I can sometimes I can't. The incision on the left is the one giving me the most pain. I see my medication go down with every dose and I will be out before this weekend and I am scared to death. I am not getting in all of my Water or all of my Protein either. I try to walk around as much as I can but most of my day is spent in bed. Yesterday I managed to go to the store for a few things and I thought I was going to die. I usually have to take ambien to sleep but not since surgery. Now I sleep a lot. I know once the pain is gone I will be happy I did this. But right now I'm thinking what the hell did I do to myself?

    Will I Be Approved?

Have you gone to a seminar? If not go to one! Talk to the surgeon he or she would know if you would be approved or not. I had a low 40 BMI. I had to make sure I didn't lose weight on my 6 month diet but I was approved by my insurance!
  7. I'm 7/9! I can't wait to be on the losers bench! I am so ready for this! I am already packed for the hospital.
  8. I am July 9th too! Good luck ladies! I am so excited to start.

    July 8th RNY

I am having surgery July 9th. No pre-opt diet for me! I can eat anything up until midnight. Good luck everyone! I am so excited!
  10. Submitted to the insurance a week ago today. The waiting game is killing me! My husband lost his job a few weeks ago along with our insurance. So we are paying 1400.00 a month for cobra. We can only afford to do this for 2 months. There is a 2 week turn around wait with insurance. I do not know how I will survive another week!

    Gallbladder

My surgeon retired out of the blue in the middle of my 6 month supervised diet. He was very pro bypass and that was what I was set on going in. Then I went to another surgeon's seminar and he was very pro sleeve. There were things I did not like about that surgeon be he did open my eyes to the sleeve. So the program that I originally started going through found a new surgeon and I decided to stick it out with them. I am glad I did. They are a great staff. I have not met the surgeon yet. But I have had heard lots of good stuff about her. I had colon cancer last year so I have lots of questions to go over with her to see what is the best option for me.

    Gallbladder

I too worry about that. I had my gallbladder out in 1996 and I still get what I think is comparable to dumping syndrome. I haven't had surgery yet either and I am afraid it will get worse too. With sleeve you typically don't get dumping. I am still undecided if I want bypass or sleeve. I really need to hurry up and decide I am submitting to insurance on Wed.

  15. It has been a hard journey for me. I was in the same boat. I have gained and lost the same 10 pounds all my life. Those 10 pounds lost could have meant I wouldn't qualify. I have no comorbidities. I have bcbs. I had to suffer 6 months of not eating well or doing any exercising because I feared that I would drop below 40 BMI. My Doctors words were. We'll I'm not telling you to eat Mc Donalds everyday...but don't lose weight. We are submitting to the insurance on Wednesday. Even though I didn't work hard to lose weight these past 6 months like a lot of you have to, It was tough. Fearing I can't drop down any weight because I wouldn't qualify. I ate junk I normally wouldn't eat. I didn't workout because of the same fear. And The worse you eat the worse you feel and the worse you feel about yourself. Now that I have my last appointment in I can lose those 10 lbs without fear. I just hope I am approved. Then the 6 months of feeling like crap will be worth it! Best of luck to you all,
  16. I too was told by my dr not to lose any weight. I had to have a 6 month supervised diet. I finally finished my last appointment we are submitting to the insurance on 6/18. I am so nervous!
