  4. I can eat fat free refried beans in fact any beans
  5. I love the smell of the food I am cooking for my family-especially meat!!! I kinda lust after tasty food but I know I can't have it! Nothing else drives me mad, just the delicious smell of meat, I don't want to cheat I just want to smell-I am 4 weeks monday past my surgery I never really ate a lot of meat pre-op and would enjoy more the salad, veg and potatoes. I don't have a problem cooking for my family, as normally I am working 5-6 days per week and don't have the time After this weekend I will be back at my full time crazy job, so cooking will become a luxury again.
  6. I stalled at 3 weeks and as I am approaching my 4th I am still stalled-it is frustrating to stall so soon but after reading lots of posts on this web site a 3 week stall is normal. Just gotta push through!
  7. Me too same weight for 4 days-but I can feel that I am slimmer and my clothes are all baggy!! So I am just carrying on and waiting patiently for the next few pounds to disappear off the scale
  8. Unjury Chicken soup is lovely-I cannot tolerate protein shakes at all so was pleased to enjoy the protein soup
  9. Cant wait until I am under the 200's! Well done
  10. I am going back to work on monday, I took 4 weeks off and I am mentally preparing myself for my return. I do have a demanding job and travel a lot so today I am going out to buy little baggies for my supplements, a cool box for my water and food. Then I am going to pray that it is a quiet week especially as it is only a four day week
  11. June 2nd and down 22 lbs plus 18 lbs lost pre surgery for a total of 40lbs since April
  12. Thank you everybody you have given me some great ideas
  13. The problem I have is that my surgeon and NUT do not allow me very many options-no egg yolks, no salad dressings, no salsa No spicy foods
  14. I am 3 weeks post surgery today and I am getting really bored with my food choices! I have made my food into every Soup known to mankind (feels like this anyway) and even though once I start eating the feeling of boredom goes away it causes me problems before hand if this makes any sense. I can't tolerate any food which is not pureed, plain yogurt or cottage cheese-or I feel horrible discomfort I cannot abide sweet food it has to be savory, I made myself a Protein drink with banana pureed last night and was only able to force it down because I needed the protein. Has anybody got any suggestions for what to do with Tuna, chicken or turkey? My surgeon has told me I will be on this diet for 12 weeks, so I have a lot of boredom to get through!!
  15. I had to do three but I know it is quite common for 6 months
  16. I found this site just recently post surgery-I really appreciate the advice and other 'sleevers stories' Thank you everybody for all the advice
  17. Buy a scale at Bed bath and beyond I searched lots of stores before I actually found a scale
  18. I am allowed but honestly my taste buds have changed so I can only eat the plain greek yogurt
  19. I put on 10 lbs before surgery-and then had to loose 18 lbs before they would perform the surgery My Dr counted the weight I had on the day I first saw him, the weight I had to loose was initially 8 lbs but because it takes a while to do all the testing and getting approval I gained 10 more lbs. In April I had to start dieting I had 5 weeks to loose the weight by my pre op check in-or surgery would be cancelled. I did manage to loose it thank goodness
  20. Jimmy Johns do lettuce wraps if you choose the turkey it is a really healthy option plus delicious I have been craving one and plan to have it once I am on normal foods
  21. I am totally on same page as you! I too felt sad (unreal I know) that I could no longer eat what I wanted-almost 3 weeks out now and I don't feel the same loss as I felt the first week. I never expected to feel a loss so it made me very quiet and withdrawn. I don't have a sweet tooth, I have a savory one-miss salty foods but not like I did. I just have to focus on my goal, improving my health and stamina. I haven't done more than walk yet in my exercise routine but I haven't had the energy-will do more starting monday
  22. Hi I am a RN from Ohio-I work for a large dialysis company and travel all over Ohio for my company. I have been a nurse for 25 years and worked in UK and US-where I currently live. I had my sleeve done on 2nd June 2014-Plan on taking 4 weeks off due to the long distance driving Cant say I have bounced back as quick as I would like but I do think that is a good thing for me as I am normally running around doing everything I shouldn't. So pleased to see lots of other nurses on here! I too am dreading how to manage fluids and foods once I go back to work
