    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Is anybody struggling now? I feel hungry now, I don't overeat but I do try different foods not chocolate or chips I am not loosing weigh now just staying the same I do however need to lose at least 40lbs I work so many hours at work don't have time or energy to exercise, plus I like to be outdoors exercising and the snow plus cold weather put me off
  2. I am 7 months out I have lost 67 lbs since surgery-I am struggling now! Since Christmas I haven't lost anything and I am crazy hungry all the time Now is when I feel I need support and help

    I'm hungry... Help!

Those first two weeks are horrendous and I was not prepared for them. But this shall pass and you will settle into your new life.
  4. I lost quickly at first then it slowed down-doest bother me and I only weigh once a week I lose about 4 lbs a month now if I am lucky I have 51 lbs to go so by June my anniversary I doubt I will be down to goal I look and feel so much better and my clothes size has gone from 3xl to 12
  5. I was sleeved on 2nd June this year and I am waiting patiently to drop into onederland I have 5 lbs to go!!! I am so excited I cannot even remember when I saw that kind of weight it was so long ago. My journey since June has been amazing, the weight hasn't dropped off me quickly it has been slow and steady. I was anxious at first when I would read about how much people would lose, I would compare myself to everybody on the boards. Now I am chilled I just listen to my own body, I weigh myself once a week and if I am the same I don't stress I know it will come off. I have lost 58 lbs since surgery and 75lbs since April! How awesome is this I have about 60lbs left to lose and I expect it could take another year-will I get to 145 who knows Postive things about weight loss surgery I am more agile and less clumsy I can fit into airplane seats and the belt is loose My clothes look so much better on me I can feel bones I fit into normal clothes I have gone from a size 22 to a size 14!
  6. I am diagnosing myself here but I am pretty certain I have non alcoholic fatty liver disease I can review my labs on line and view the trends since surgery almost 6 months ago now My Alk-phos is elevated and increases each time I have my blood work done My ALT and AST are also trending upwards all three tests are elevated above normal ranges I don't drink alcohol and haven't for years and years So the only explanation is I have Fatty Liver Disease! Loosing weight and exercising helps!! but obviously in my case it hasn't My Glucose level is 111 although I have not been diagnosed with Diabetes there is a chance I do have issues there plus my triglycerides are still elevated at 172 post surgery Anybody else have these problems?

    Spaghetti Squash?

It is lovely-cooked in microwave for 6 mins then use a fork to shred it into spaghetti I will eat it with home made chili or spaghetti sauce-non fat cheese
  11. I eat out a lot with work, I have learned to order carefully and I tend to just pick-My stomach tells me immediately if it is not happy with what I have chosen. I will order steak and just eat until I am full so about 4 oz-I do eat with small amount of potato or veg
  12. I made it into onderland but now I am stuck at just 1lb under and it freaks me out incase I pop back up!!

Waiting to get in to onederland

I am 10 lbs less than my hubby first time ever! Having a stall at the moment but I know it won't last!
  16. I am so so happy I hit onederland this morning plus totaled up to 80lbs weight loss this year! This time last year I was just considering bariatric surgery! I made an appt to see the surgeon and I was crazy mad that I couldn't get an appointment until January 22nd! I don't think I ever thought that I would ever see under 200lbs ever again! Yesterday I saw people I hadn't seen all year and the compliments were flying all over the place. I will try and get some before and now photos, I can't say after because that will not be yet For those of you in doubt! Go for it! This surgery has changed my life!!

    So discouraged

For some of us the weight loss is very slow-I stopped weighing myself daily as I would feel depressed and I now weigh myself weekly or when I notice that I am feeling slimmer. I think when I remain the same that it was better than before when I would put on a pound and think well thats not bad! Now remaining the same or losing a pound is wonderful. If you stick to the plan you will loose weight

Waiting to get in to onederland

So i have 1 lb to go to get to 199! It is taking forever!!! and ever but I hope to be there by next week
  20. When eating out I tend to go for the grilled meat where possible. I travel for work so it does make it difficult Last night I went to and Irish pub with friends and ordered the Irish Stew-I picked out the meat and ate a few veg plus a small amount of the mashed potatoes and that was it. The other night a group of us went to this Italian restaurant and it was family style-very very hard for me to pick what I could eat. So I stuck with salad and the salmon! I was dying to eat all the rest of the food but I resisted-I have worked too hard to go back to normal eating now!! My weight is so slow in coming off I can't take chances!

    Avg monthly weight loss?

After the big initial loss I was losing about 7 lbs per month Now at 5 months and it has slowed down to 4 lbs but I don't gain so I see that it is a positive I imagine I have over a year to go to lose the 58 lbs I still need to lose! Since surgery on 2nd June I am down 58 lbs so I am half way-I had to lose 17 lbs pre surgery
  22. Somedays I see a fat person and somedays I see the new slimmer person! I can't buy clothes by judging the size anymore because I still go for the larger clothes. I don't even know what size I am because I live in leggings and tops I just noticed that large size leggings are loose so maybe time to drop to a medium LOL

    Favorite foods post op?

Isn't it horrible when a food doesn't agree with you-for me chicken is a problem it feels like it sticks half way down-even chewed very very well. 5 months out and my stomach really appreciates soft food Starbucks non fat mochas make me have violent pains in my stomach and i am ill for hours! Especially the pumpkin flavor I love Quest bars and have 1 per day normally on my drive home from work I am from UK and live in US just recently bought lots of my favorite foods from UK-they have been in my cupboard for weeks and I just don't fancy eating them.
