  1. Hello beautiful people,

I wanted to dedicate this message today, to those of you who are scheduled for surgery or working towards that.. I want to help with putting the "Surgery Day" more into perspective for you, based on my experience of course. I remember wanting to find a post of some sort, as detailed as mine is, to help me understand what would happen that day, more or less.

You can find this post in my blog, under the following link: http://vvvgastricsleeveafterlife.blogspot.com/ it's called "Had the surgery!"

I do hope that it helps you guys either calm any nerves, or understand what the day is like, etc.

    Love y'all

    XOXO

  2. I agree with all of you, specially the cutting out air supply while bending over... This is one of my biggest challenges right now. I look forward to:

    - not have to wear darker makeup on my double chin to try and hide it

    - be comfortable in flats too!! My feet end up all marked up at the end of the day.

    - being able to pop out of my car, rather than wobble out

    - being able to put my hair in a ponytail without worrying about my neck rolls being exposed

  3. You are amazing John. I am so happy to hear that you are coming along so well. I love it that you're finally able to sleep with your wife!!! You are going be to even more awesome when that new baby is born and you will once again realize how much this is all worth it.

Your update is inspirational, and it reassures that what these doctors are doing for us is giving us a golden chance at what we could not have achieved otherwise.

    Congratulations John!!!!

  4. Hi VSGJourney,

    Welcome to the site!

I think to an extent we have all wondered whether we will be able to keep the weight loss or not. I think the answer is yes!

One of the beautiful things abt the VSG is the elimination of most of the gastric hormones that cause hunger. Believe it or not, hunger can be very mental, and this surgery really helps you out with this.

Of course one has to get into a psychological state of mind, that you will be fit for life. Surround yourself with people that are trying to achieve the same goal as you, a.k.a. your bariatric pal friends ;). Most surgeons will provide you information about post-op support groups, use them to your advantage.

Overall, remember that even if you were not as successful with the VSG as you imagined, this is not the end of the magic of weight loss surgery for you. Options like gastric bypass and duodenal switch exist.

    You will do great dear!

    XO
