    Hello all,
My name is Rachael and I had the sleeve surgery in portland, or on 9/17
I first talked about my weight with my PCP in June weighing in at 428 lbs...she got me in touch with OWLS Dr Emma Patterson who I met in July and weighed 403...she asked me to lose 20 lbs and so on my date of surgery I was exactly 383!!!!
I am 9 weeks out now and I am 349 lbs and doing very well...I have so much to lose and I feel like I am just losing so slowly. It is probably because I just could not get myself to move much but I got myself a vivofit and I feel like I am really pushing it and getting better each day!

I have been over 400 lbs for two years, I was over 300 lbs for 20+ years and there are things that I remember doing that I took for grated that I just cant do anymore.
Fitting into a booth without having to push the table back.
Sitting in a chair with arms and not worry about breaking it or getting stuck
getting into a car without having my gut rest on the steering wheel
fitting into clothes that are not specially made
being able to put my shoes on without sitting down and or needing assistance
    riding a bike
    roller skating
sitting cross legged on the grass in a park, and being able to get up!
fitting in a bathroom stall without going to the handicapped stall
fitting comfortably into a set at movie theater
fitting into a ride at the fair
    having energy
eating in a place without feeling like every one is watching every bite you take
I know I can go on and on about it...but there are so many little things that I just wish I had not let go of, maybe I would have worked harder to keep the weight down and not just got bigger and bigger. but I started sitting out of events and not going places and wearing sweats and it just got easier and easier until I forgot the old me and became someone else. I cant wait to get me back.

Its time for another challenge! This challenge will be beginning with the first weigh in and goal on Friday November 7, 2014. From there on after, weigh ins will take place Fridays. Last weigh in will be Friday January 2, 2015. This will allow a total of 9 weigh ins in all. I will post the link for the spreadsheet once its the week of. I know this challenge will be hard for a lot of people including myself because of three major holidays. I want everyone to enjoy this time with their family and friends.. This challenge is to help us make healthy food choices during this time.
    Few reminders
You will know it is updated once I have liked your post. Please post weigh ins here in this post only. We are all here to support each other..so questions posted here will be answered by anyone else willing to help. If you want to adjust your goal weight, just add that in any reply to this post. if you miss a weigh in...no biggie. Just report back in the next week. But If you missed three or more weigh ins, i will amuse that you no longer wish to continue the challenge and your name will be removed from spread sheet.
Have fun with this! Challenge yourself in new ways! Join us for the Holiday Challenge!

I am 13 months post op and personally I don't worry too much about calories. Instead I focus on getting 80g of Protein, and no more than 30-40g carbs and the calories, fat, and sugar seem to fall in line if I keep an eye on those other numbers (100 oz of Water too).
But to answer your question, if I look back over my MFP logs since reaching goal weight I've been getting an avg of 700-750 cal I would say, and rarely over 1000.

I lost 10 pre-op and 17 post op. Then weeks 3-4 I lost 4 lbs !! I was devastated and cried in the doctors office! But he explained that it was normal and that extreme weight loss was stressful on my body so it had to rest. He said it will be a lose - plateau cycle. I'm fine with it now. Just keep moving forward and don't focus on the scale.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear you were not able to have it done the first time! That must have been hard waking up and hearing it was not done! I cant imagine that! I was asked by my dr to lose 20 lbs so I was 408 and I am 386 now I have 3 more lbs to lose and I have my surgery set for Sept 17th
I have been on a modified liquid diet for 2 months and I am ready to get this done...I will be an all liquid diet starting on Wednesday for 7 days prior to my surgery. I think that is sure to lose the 3 lbs with that but just in case, I am also working out like crazy.
best of luck to you and I will be here as soon as I am able to wake up from surgery lol

Hi all!!! Had my surgery 9/17 and all has been well. Not much pain at all but today I'm finding a feeling of maybe fullness with my Protein Shake for Breakfast? Maybe I drank too fast.
I did has a day or so of nausea but the pills worked. I'm not able to tolerate Water straight but I have it mixed with a bit of g2 and that works.
I had my first bm yesterday and it was rock hard so I'm going to get some milk of mag today and see if that helps me.
For the most part all is good.
