    Holiday Challenge!

Hey Challengers!!! What are some of the things you all are doing or using to keep active? I am 8 weeks post op and have been given the green light for all activity and I have a bowflex revolution and treadclimber that I am anxious to get started on. I start my work out routine tonight. I will be doing arms on mon-wed-fri and will be doing legs and trunk on the other days. I also bought a vivofit and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! I have found that it pushes me to get those extra steps in and I really feel that I pay more attention to inactivity. I am obsessed with keeping the red line down!!! lol If you have a vivofit please add me to your contacts so we can keep each other motivated...my vivofit name is rac8610 would love to have more in my community to keep up with!!!

I was sleeved on 9/17 and I am VERY interested in a physical meeting for vsg...I have so many questions and being around some people who many have shared the same experiences would be just great! My Name is Rachael and I live in Lake Oswego.
  10. So, I was 423 at my HW in June of this year...I started the modified liquid diet to lose a few lbs prior to surgery and my SW was 383!! Now I am 5 weeks out and I am 363 but I have not lost a single lb in three weeks.... I know after years of yo yo dieting with weight watchers that I would gain and lose the same 10 lbs over and over and I always knew why I didn't show any loss in the weekly weigh in, it was always because I would over eat or binge out and I knew it then I would struggle for a couple days to lose what I ate. With this I am NOT eating anything or binge eating or anything and I am just at a loss for words!!! I have about 150 lbs to lose still and I cant imagine this being all I am going to lose! I have heard everyone say that stalls are going to happen and I just never expected it so soon!! How long do they last? is there anything you can do to kick your body back into gear???

    Plateaus and weight gain

WOW! I am having the same exact issue!!! I was sleeved on 9/17 my HW is 423 in June, then surgery was 9/17 sw was 383 and the first week I was down to 372 and then for three weeks NOTHING I have been at 365 for the past three weeks just not moving at all....I called my NUT and she said she is very impressed with my food choices and asked me to just keep doing what I am doing. I have one shake a day in the am and I blend a banana and some spinach with a premier vanilla shake and add two tbls of ground flax seed and that is around like 340 calories and it takes me a good hour to drink it all then so she said to try to eat every couple of hours and hit around 1000 calories with my 112 grams of Protein...but since I am not hungry and I just forget to eat.. so she said I needed to get my calories up there and then I will see some loss. she explained that I was just too low on calories for so long that my body went into a starvation mode and is just holding all it can. they say we will break out of this but WHEN??? lol its kinda scary going through all this and NOT losing.
  12. tomorrow I will be 5 WEEKS post op!!! I feel great and Im soooo ready for my 6 week mark so I can start working out!!!!

1 week post op protein intake issue

what I have been told, is to not not worry to much about hitting Protein goals in the first 4 weeks but rather work on getting comfortable with the portion sizes and drinking your fluids then when you are in the eating stages, things will progress and you will wean off the shakes and start getting your protein from food sources. it does suck to feel super tired and weak, but that is to be expected...I am ending week 3 and starting week four tomorrow and I will now be eating soft foods, and I can tell you I am feeling VERY happy about investing in my Ninja blender and I have been drinking my veggies all week and I feel great! drinking the veggies gives me a chance to work on eating my protein and not being concerned that I am not getting proper nutrition!
  18. Hello, I am having my sleeve surgery on 9/17...I am very anxious and I am looking for successful stories of folks losing 150-200+ lbs..... I have about 190 lbs to lose and I am terrified of stalls and things I have heard but from the folks I am hearing this it is all who have under 100 lbs to lose. I could really use some enlightenment or words of advise from folks who have the same amount to lose.
  19. hey all....I am fairly new here and I have not figured out how to add more pics....and another thing, how do you update your weight to reflect on your ticker???
  20. I lost two more lbs and I am so excited!! I am at the weight I was when I first joined weight watchers back in 2000!!!!! This is awesome!!!!

  21. milestone weight reached...I hit 372 today which is the weight I was in 2000 when I first started to try to lose weight with weight watchers. Over the years as I have gained, I have always fought to get back to that starting weight ....and I am here and passing it!!! and better yet, NEVER going back!!!!

  22. I have been over 400 lbs for two years, I was over 300 lbs for 20+ years and there are things that I remember doing that I took for grated that I just cant do anymore. Fitting into a booth without having to push the table back. Sitting in a chair with arms and not worry about breaking it or getting stuck getting into a car without having my gut rest on the steering wheel fitting into clothes that are not specially made being able to put my shoes on without sitting down and or needing assistance riding a bike roller skating sitting cross legged on the grass in a park, and being able to get up! fitting in a bathroom stall without going to the handicapped stall fitting comfortably into a set at movie theater fitting into a ride at the fair having energy eating in a place without feeling like every one is watching every bite you take I know I can go on and on about it...but there are so many little things that I just wish I had not let go of, maybe I would have worked harder to keep the weight down and not just got bigger and bigger. but I started sitting out of events and not going places and wearing sweats and it just got easier and easier until I forgot the old me and became someone else. I cant wait to get me back.

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

I started this journey in June weighing 423 lbs I was put on a modified liquid diet and asked to lose 20 lbs. In July I weighed in at 403...then in Aug 387 ...I had surgery on 9/17 and weighed in 383...Today I am 374....I have about 176 more lbs to lose and I have a feeling for the first time in my life, I can look forward to actually losing this weight. I dont know how close to goal I will get, but I like the fact that I know I have a fighting chance at getting there! I hope you keep in touch!! I would like to see how your doing!!!!
