  1. hello! I'm 9 months post sleeve and have lost almost 80 lbs, and very happy with my progress, but my weight loss has all but halted the last month or two. My doctor said that after the first 6 months this happens, but I am didn't think it would slow down THIS MUCH!

I have not started exercising or anything like that, I know that would help, just wondering if other people are going through this and/or what advice you have to offer regarding it!

    THANK YOU

  2. wish I had the BALLS to say that!! when people ask me how I lost the weight I'm honest about it b/c enough people at my job know the truth so I don't want to deal with lying to them...they are always so disappointed when i tell them i had the surgery! its like i just told them that Santa was fake!! LOL. the way i look at it, if there was a "magic pill", OPRAH would have found it already! and if she is still curvy then it hasn't been discovered yet so surgery was what was best for me....so SUCK THOSE BALLS! ;o)

  3. i prayed it wouldn't happen to me, i love having mid-to-long length hair, but my hair has gone limp and thin post-op. im finally giving in and getting a shorter style. on the plus side, i've lost enough weight in my face that i'm more comfortable going shorter (i have a football face like stewie on family guy...ugh).

praying my beautiful locks will once again be there when i look in the mirror!!!

  4. i have 2 cousins that has this surgery done 4 yrs ago. they drink soda. not a lot, but they treat themselves from time to time...even a beer sometimes. it has not stretched their tummys or effected their weight loss, one of them is currently a size 2. i asked them about it and they said you just burp more than before, lol.

  5. i am "gifting" my self every 30lbs, if i hit my goal i also plan on doing boudoir pics. even found the photographer already!! i talked to my husband about it and he is good with it (shocker, ha ha)...i figure these pics will just be for me and him...but that will be something to Celebrate all the hard work :o)

  6. I still have a lot to lose, but i'm down 50 lbs. i've been mostly just shopping my closet, which is a lot of fun! There have been a few times I have gone into a store and just turned around and walked out because it was all just so overwhelming. I cant wait till that passes and i can enjoy shopping for the first time in a LONG time!

  7. I thnk you need to be proud of how you are doing!! remember, the sleeve is a tool, not magic! you didn't gain it overnight, you wont lose it over night. I think you need to not worry about how others are doing, as long as you are healthier today than you were yesterday you are moving in the right direction! well done!!

also, you might want to reconsider trying to be like you were at age 16, that is way to much pressure for yourself!! we are ALL DIFFERENT than we were at 16!! striving for that body again is setting yourself up for failure. just be YOUR BEST SELF FOR TODAY!! good job and good luck!!! :)

  8. I was sleeved on 09/10 as well. I'm down about 29 lbs, a good first month! congrats to you as well!! Its a good way to start this new life. I have the same issue as you. I have no real appitite. I just open the fridge and end up closing it and walking out of the kitchen with nothing. I am also totally over the Protein shakes. I literally gag a little when I make one!! And I have good ones! I would have never thought I'd ever have the problem of NOT eating enough!!! Praying I can figure this all out before my body starts to rebel and hinder my health/weight loss.

Good luck to you on your journey!!

  9. Hello there! I am 4 weeks out today. I'm allowed to eat pretty much whatever I want at this point, as long as I chew it really well. I tried to eat some carne asad, though, and it just would not go down. So I have to stay away from really dry things. My HUGE frustration is this ridiculous stall. I lost 12 pounds the first week.... and I haven't lost anything since. My energy is decent, though. I walk, walk, walk. I eat maybe 800 calories a day and get in all my Protein. So I am having a really hard time understanding the stall.

Oh, and I wasn't hungry until this week. Now all of a sudden at 3-4 hours I get hungry. Thankfully it doesn't take much to make me full.

VSGLiz, I feel your pain. I was sleeved on 09/10. I lost 25lbs in a blink of an eye...for the past 2 weeks, NOTHING! so frustrating. I know there is the 3 week stall, but i think my stall is going to last 3 weeks! its insane!! Have you talked to your surgon about it? Im almost afraid to ask mine, I don't want him to think i'm sitting around eating chocolate all day or something, but if I don't get out of this stall, i'll go crazy!

  10. I am almost a month post-op. Overall a very easy recovery. I am eating mushy foods and soft meats. I am really struggling with the pain when swallowing food OR liquids. I thought it was becuase of the hernia repair, but at almost a month out, it has not improved. Also when food/liquids hit my stomach I get a very unpleasant stomach cramp. I just cringe and wait for it to pass. Anyone else going though this?? Could I just be eating to fast or not chewing enough? I know its getting where I want to avoid eating/drinking all together.
