    Snacks

i am struggling with what to eat for snacks. i am in the end of my mushies phase and on wed go to solids. i will be filled on oct 31. i finish work and am fine however i have so many mom things to do after work that we don't get home untill 6 or so and i am absolutely famished. yesterday i was planning to exercise when i got home but i was so hungry i couldn;t. i had to eat. i ate egg salad, cottage cheese, 2 pieces of herring, and a 60 calorie pudding. then i was so full that i couldn't exercise either.i have to have a planned snack bu something i can eat in the car. suggestions??????:help:
  5. i was banded on the 25th and have been able to take all of my meds, some rather large, with no problem. the one thing for me is that i have to take one at a time and wait in between.
  6. well, we all have one thing in common. we are hungrier now that the initial swelling is gone. i also ate ice cream...a whole pint...freaked out and have decided that i am really only going to eat mushies. if i keep trying other stuff i know i will sabotage myself. i originally lost 15 pounds since surgery and have gained back 4. my dr said not to worry though becasue when you start eating the real food( including mushies) you naturally gain some weight. i am trying to keep up the exercise but i manage about 1/2 hour 3-4 times a week. my cravings are all over the place. i do get my first fill on oct 31 but it feels like forever and now i worry that the fill won't do the trick. brother is this ever tough however, it sure helps having others experiencing the same thing. at least i know i am not completely crazy!
  7. i was banded on the 25th and planned to go back oct 1 but was feeling kind of yucky so i went back on oct 4. i was not getting in enough protein so i crashed both thurs and fri at work and then the dr added cottage cheese to my diet. mon the 8th was fine and looking back i should have taken 2 weeks off.

    Why can I eat???

i have not tested my band. i probably could eat more but i am committed to not even trying. however i think i was kind of starving myslef so i called the dr and am now eating cottage cheese. i start mushies this week and am 4 weeks from first fill. i think that it is a test to see how we can committ to really changing our life style.

    Can't get it all in

i was banded on the 25th. i am feeling pretty good but my struggle has been since i went back to work. i have energy in the morning and am getting decent amounts of fluids but am protein starved. i can tell because i am dreaming of fish and cottage cheese. i got so low on energy yesterday that i called the dr and they are letting me start cottage cheese. i think over a period of time i ate almost a cup, but i felt much better. the protein is huge because once you are back to work, depending on your job, you really need your energy to function. i am still on full liquids but i have yogurt, pudding, and now...cottage cheese. i have a hard time getting in those slimfast high protein shakes. i can get one in over the whole day but that is just not enough protein for me. jamba juice protein drink is working for me as well. i get the small one and have them add an extra protein boost. anyhow, hang in there. it seems friday and sunday are my tough days of the week.
  10. my dr was adamant...no mushies till 2 weeks out. however today i went to jamba juice and had their small protein drink with extra boost of protein so it was around 26 grams for the whole thing. i drank half and am very full. i feel great. the other half i will drink later but i see the truth in filling in with protein. i have been eating sugar free popsicles and fudgesicles. i hated the sugar free jello but my dr says you can certainly eat it.
  11. good for the 10 lost. i wish i could start the mushies but my doc is admant that i am to stay on liquids. at least he has upped me to cream soups. i have to remain on the full liquids untill i see him on the 10th. i do know i am losing weight. i can already tell in my clothes. WE ARE SUCCESSES ALREADY WITH LOTS MORE TO COME. HOORAY FOR US!!!!
  12. hi all, i was banded on the 25th and am doing pretty well. i have been walking every day but mostly just around the neighborhood. i am having no problem with taking my pills but they just take forever to go down. i got an infection in my arm from the iv so i am on antibiotics which is making me have a bit o diarrea so i need to drink more. i have times when i am really hungry. went out to vitamin cottage today and got higher protein powder so that maybe some of these liquids will stay. i have been ok with yogurt but it seems to take me a long time to eat it. i bought a bunch of different cream soups so i hope that by adding protein powder they will stay. i go back to work on thursday. glad to hear how you are all doing. anyone else besides me not weighing themselves. i threw out my scale a few years ago because i became so obsessive with it? i don't know if it is good or bad. i do know i am losing weight so that what counts! hang in there fellow september banders!:whoo:
  13. it is great to read these posts. i am really wanting something more filling. i was doing great and then my arm started to get swollen and i am now on keflex for an infection in my arm from the iv site. it figures. i am trying to get in enough water but i am finding it tough to get in enough at this point. i am drinking high protein slimfast and that does seem to take the edge off. i cannot wait for cottage cheese and tuna! but i will hang in there with the rest of you because i know this is the only answer and i will be damned if i screw this up! so...here is a toast to all of us on liquids....congrats for making it another day!:clap2:

    I need advice guys!

i had my surgery on tuesday and i have to say that pain was not a big issue. discomfort...definitely...but i think i took 3 pain pills since the surgery including when i was in the hospital. i was planning to go home but everyone convinced me to stay overnite and i am glad i did. i had no nausea and my gas pain was medium. the most important thing is to walk. i walked a bunch in the hospital and i am taking at least 1 or 2 decent walks outside. today i walked for 35 minutes. the weirdest thing for me is that feeling of not knowing if what i am feeling is ok or if something is wrong. i keep calling my cousin to check because she had lap band 2 years ago. good luck. you will do fine. and don't think about cheating because this is about the gift you are finally giving yourself. at least that helps for me.
