  1. Hi Everyone, First off I would like to thank LilMissBand-Aid for providing the shopping list that I used for my shopping trip. I saw the list when it posed and I was so happy that when I covered this list with my doctors office the only thing I could come up with was a pedometer, so, I added a pedometer to my list and that is about it. Off I went to Wal-mart with shopping list in hand. I would like to note that these prices are subjective to the area's that you live in. I have even found that they are different from store to store depending on demographics and housing costs. UGH... curse you Wal-mart for being so easy to shop at and priced for my neighborhood. So, these are at least close to what you can expect to spend for Wal-mart in Texas. I hope LilMissBand-Aid doesn't feel i"m stealing her list idea, it's just that the postings from the original thread would surely buried this post so, that is why I started the new thread. Thanks everybody for your support and knowledge in this forum. It is a huge help. LAP BAND SURGERY SHOPPING LIST-w-prices.doc
  2. Here I am with band, just under 12 hours out of the hospital. Everything is smooth so far. :whoo: It took me longer to get over the anastisia (spelling could be incorrect) than I originally thought but that was over after 5 hours. I did loose 7.5Lbs during the PreOp diet and feeling pretty good about it. The diet was easy to maintain. I have not updated my BMI scale below yet but I will once I get to feeling like sitting a bit longer.

    Good news UPDATES!

Good News for me...my second blood test results came back from the vampires(RN's) and I have been cleared for my operation. :whoo: I believe the first tests were a screw up. When they were taking my blood last week they took my EKG at the same time and marked the wrong name to it. When I pointed it out they corrected the EKG but no one checked or said they checked the blood and I didn't think to ask. Hey, it's a hospital, run by people, people make mistakes, it does happen. Nuff said about that! So Friday is my day to get sliced and diced...:biggrin1:...or something like that. HEHE!

    TENaciousTENS "roll call" as promised!

Hi all, it looks like I'm part of this huge group TENaciousTENS. Operation is scheduled for the end of this week coming. It could be delayed but I'm hoping not. I have a very positive attitude and a delay will not get me down but could take me out of this group. I will know more on Tuesday.

    Banded??? Check in here

Gratz to all banded so far this month! Mine is coming up this week and I'm feeling a bit stressed, my blood test was showing high white cell count on last weeks tests. It could be postponed if it's not back to normal, I hate the waiting game. Oh, well, I will know for sure on Tuesday if it's getting delayed. I'm keeping my hopes up that there isn't going to be any delays.
  6. Well said, thanks for the support.
  7. Sghatl - In the same area of Wal-mart where they sell the other plastic/paper cups. Near the trash bags. They are not labeled as hospital cups, just "3oz. Bathroom Cups". Thanks Holly, I will do that! Good luck Tuesday!

    Should you tell?

I agree with everyone about the question...it's great and one that we struggle with. I originally didn't want to let the cat out the bag but then changed my view and shared the information with everyone. I only have one friend that I consider a know-it-all and he took the information and instead of telling me about all he knows he actually asked questions. It is a personal choice that can impact us very strongly. No matter what you decide, it has to be right for you and your situation.
