  1. My surgeon's office called and said there was a scheduling conflict and changed my date from Feb 9th to Feb 16th. I know it's only one week but I'm feeling so annoyed but trying to stay positive. I just keep joking that at least we will be out of Mercury Retrograde on the 16th... but! AHHH! Another week to obsess over it!

one week doesn't sound like much - but when you are waiting, it feels forever!!! God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It LOL - good luck

@proudgrammy THANK YOU!! It's not a lot longer, but man, I've been planning for the past 3 weeks since I got my original date and it was a bit of a punch in the gut to have to pick up and change everything. But I'm feeling better about it now. =)

That is a total bummer! I would not be impressed if they changed my date on me at this point!!

    Any February Sleevers

My surgeon's office called and told me I needed to reschedule because they had a "scheduling conflict"... so now my new date is Feb 16th. I'm a bit disappointed and a lot annoyed I have to ask other people to change their plans for me if they can... but on the bright side I won't be getting surgery in the middle of Mercury Retrograde now (a bit of astrology humor).

    Anxiety Surrounding Eating

Hmm maybe you could talk to a therapist or a counselor about what your anxieties about eating are? I've found from personal experience it's great to have a non judgmental bouncing board to talk to about my anxieties.

    Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!

@@MamaTo3inNH one of my coworkers swears by it, she was suffering from an intestinal digestion issue for years and taking meds, she discovered kefir and started feeling better, stopped taking the meds.

    Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!

Kefir is one thing that people can try if they just hate yogurt, I do not suggest eating it without flavoring it, it has all the same benefits of yogurt and typically 11+ grams of protein per cup.

    Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!

@@Bexsta everyone has different taste buds and it's ok to not like yogurt. I don't think you have to force yourself to eat it unless you just super want to eat yogurt. There are plenty of other nutrient rich foods with protein out there that you will love, and you can always get probiotics in other methods. =)

@@KatieD6982 I got my surgery date on the same day the surgeon's office called me to tell me that my insurance had given the final approval. I had completed all of the insurance and hospital/surgeon's requirements. When they called she suggested the first date available which was Jan 19th but I asked for the 2nd week in Feb so I could give my work notice.

    Antibiotics

Interesting info. I was having the same issue awhile back and had read histamines created by poor digestion and the antibiotics and it had suggested taking in Probiotics, as well as dehydration while on the antibiotics can cause Water retention and drinking more water will help. What did you find for suggestions for helping the bacterial composition?

    Pre op and terrified!

We have the same surgery date. =) I've had my own fears and worries as well, excited and nervous at the same time... but in the end it will all be worth it! The day I got my surgery date I was happy and a bit depressed at the same time, happy after all the months of hard work I put into it paid off and it got approved, and depressed that I was to the point I actually needed surgery to lose weight. But since then I've come to terms with it, not everyone has the same journey and mine just happens to include a surgery. And don't even let that dietician get to you, haters gonna hate. heh No one is perfect, just because she may have nutrition down doesn't mean she's got her life together, she's obviously got some internal issues if she's going to treat her patients like that.

Getting info out of insurance co.

I work for an insurance company that only handles chronically ill children, we never expect patients/parents to know CPT codes or even know what that means, we only require those from the providers. If ins co's are requesting that from a patient, they are just being aholes. My insurance company actually tried to talk me out of surgery when I called for info and wouldn't tell me either, so I dug around on their website searching for different weight loss surgery terms and finally found the requirements... however the hospital did have all of the requirements for me when I got there for my first seminar because they had gotten all of my insurance info when I called and set the appointment.

    Long term regrets?

@allyray There are some long term vets who vlog on youtube, like AmySDMOM, she's over 5 years out, I've been watching all her vids the past few days. Just search "VSG" or "WLS" on youtube and they are out there. =)

    Breast Rash

Yes show it to the dr so it can be documented, if you have insurance and want to get the ins to cover any skin removal those types of things being documented will help. My PCP told me after the surgery to come in for any kind of rash, skin irritation, etc so that it can be in my chart. I do get the dry Patches as well though. Idk what it is, I just throw some shea butter or coconut oil on it and it goes away pretty quick.
  24. @@Terryrobinson Do you have to do 7 diet weigh-ins? Like you go in the first month and then have to go in 7 more times after that? I had to go for 7 visits, my very first one was just to establish the diet and get my starting weight, then a month after that was the official 1st month diet weigh in. I went in for 6 months after that initial start up visit and I had 6 diet weigh-ins total.
