  1. I'm in the identical situation. Ten months out, 80 lost, 50 more to go, 5 months stalled. I am frustrated that I can taste new things and not suffer the consequences. I am really very strict and religious with my intake, but need to boost my weight loss again. I don't want to be past the 18 months and still weigh 180! I really want to go to the 100lb mark so that I can begin to plan for skin removal surgery. I don't know how to answer any of these questions.

  2. I'm ten months out, and have basically been expanding my diet with so many new discoveries. Salmon fish remains an impossibility. No matter how many ways I prepare it, and how much I drown it in salsa, it still needs to be brought back up. In trying to describe it to a friend, she kept asking, 'What-- is it an allergy? A sensitivity? " And I didn't know how to respond. In essence, my bloodstream is fine with the addition of salmon to my diet, but my POUCH is the one who is rejecting it. So then, what category does that fall under? Grouchiness? Pouch the Grouch? How do you explain that to the world?

  3. Its' been three months now, and the chills have mostly stopped and I'm mostly returned to "normal". I'm developing pockets of clarity and focus, but they are rare. I am a full time graduate student and lecturer, and this inability to think for more than "Should I go potty" is taking me apart. Who cares about life with hair loss when you can't think through a basic textbook?! My numbers are cutting it to normal now, and so I'm not getting any sympathy, medically, since the objectives had been met on paper. So frustrating.

  4. I applied and got approved for Medi-Cal (straight/full), but then they said I had to pick a managed care plan within thirty days. I had to call Healthcare Options, and pick on eof two choices. There was Alameda Alliance, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, so I selected Anthem. That's about as much as I know from this. Meaning, when I called some offices and asked about insurance, they all said, "Yes to Blue cross, no to the one from Medi-Cal". Nobody is taking Obamacare plans or government plans. Unless I don't know where to look.

I tried a referral to Summit and Sutter. Both said they won't take it.

  5. I just moved to the Bay Area and am looking for a group to follow-up with since my RNY in New York. I have Medi-cal + Anthem. Where did you guys go to?

The medical system seems so complicated. I found one group on Anthem's website, but when I faxed the referral and called for an appointment, they told me I have the wrong insurance. I don't know what to do!!

  6. I am six months after gastric bypass. Occasionally, I have a stretch of a few days where I can't get anything in. The past week has been one of chronic nausea. I am so confused. I don't know why on such days I can barely get in a shale and a tea. Everything else just sickens me if I even think of scrambling an egg. I don't know what this means, and I sure hope it is hormonal. I kinda wish I can blame everything on that... but I think the pouch is simply weird, so I'm wondering about others. I'm tired of drinking tea all week.

  7. You will ROCK this! Today, I wore size 10 red skinny jeans. I started at 258 lbs six months ago. Forget the people who have problems. They are the people who have problems with everything else... because they are not having brain surgery. If you disrespect your pouch, you will not benefit. If you commit to building a 'relationship' with this new tool, you will do phenomenally. I've never dumped, or had any 'issues'. Just like those ladies who just don't breathe through contractions...they end up failing at labor and delivery. All those problems they speak of? That is just like vaccines cause autism (NOT!) Three of my children have autism, one was not vaccinated before her diagnosis. There.
