    How about some NSVs!?!?

Most recent NSV....being able to take a picture one time and not nitpick everything about it. Also having candid pictures taken of you at an event and not chasing down the person with the camera to delete the photos Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  2. My fiance and I had weight-loss surgery within just days of each other. I'm down 125 pounds after RNY and he's down 150 after VSG. Photo is June 2015 to October 29, 2016

    Hey everyone ????

I have the same things happening to me. After a lot of appoitments and ER trips I finally got a referral from my surgeon to meet with a neurologist. We did a bunch of tests (tilt table, blood tests, cardio tests etc) and have found that I have a peripheral nerve disorder along with becoming hypoglycemic. My symptoms started pretty quickly after surgery. Luckily the pain I had in my legs has subsided but I still get very lightheaded/dizzy/disoriented. It makes it very hard to do the kind of workout I want to do because I can't really run or lift weights due to the dizziness. My neurologist has said this isn't uncommon for bariatric patients but for it to happen so soon after surgery is slightly concerning. My primary care people didn't really have any answers or path forward for me so I've been working with the neurologist mainly. I would see if meeting with a neurologist is something you can do. Even bring it up to your surgeon if you can. It's something I may have to deal with for the rest of my life but having a doctor that works with me, keeps me in the loop and really wants to help me has made this stressful and scary situation SO much easier. If you have any questions or if I can clarify anything feel free to message me

    Melting

My fiance and I both has WLS back in February and we both experience melting. We've joked around about it since it started happening but as more weight melted off the more we melted when we sit or lie down. Our running joke is that we become a couple of pancakes when we lay down. Bittersweet feeling Congradulations!! <3

    What did your breast's do?

I was hoping that since I'm only 22 I wouldn't experience a lot of extra/sagging skin, especially my boobs (I didn't want granny boobs at 22 haha). My surgeon believed that since I'm young my skin would bounce back pretty well........well.....that didn't happen. I'm about 7 months post-op and while I only went from a 36/38C to a 34C when I'm not wearing a bra you wouldn't guess that I'm 22 haha. They defintely started sagging a lot more then I/my doctors have inticpated. But you have to be realistic, when you loose 100+ pounds in such a short amount of time things aren't going to be all that cute. I have to remind myself all the time when I'm looking at my extra/sagging skin where I was just 7 months ago. While it has been hard to cope with the extra skin I know I am SOOOOOO much happier and healthier then before

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I've posted in here a few times but it just seems like more and more things keep coming up 1. When I went to pick up my engagement ring after being resized (from a 7 to a 4.5) the jeweler said, "you must have lost a lot of weight because we went down in like 2 and a half sizes!" 2. I bought size 10 jeans from Old Navy. Which was my original goal pant size. 3. My fiance can pick me up and I feel like I'm not going to crush him.
  15. Hey everyone! So I just reached my 6 month/100lbs down mark this week and got a lot of really good feedback on the progress pictures I posted. Obviously 100lbs down is a significant difference but I still find it SO incredibly difficult to see myself 100lbs lighter (and only 25lbs from my ultimate goal weight). Maybe it's that I lost the weight so fast that my mind can't see myself at that weight. I'm down like 7 or 8 pant sizes and like 4 shift sizes so I know size wise and by the number on the scale that I'm smaller. But I can't convince my brain to see me that way. Do you struggle with this? What do/did you do to overcome it? I try creating side by sides to give myself a visual reminder but sometimes that's just not convincing me.

    anyone have bcbs of Minnesota?

I have bcbs as well and after getting it submitted everything came back very quickly. I also called maybe once or twice after I knew my doctor sent it in to insurance to make sure they were processing it. I think from the time I submitted to insurance to the time my surgery was scheduled it was about a week.

    Recognizing your own Success

I definitely think the extra skin is one of the major reasons why I can't see my own weight loss. Its like losing all the weight and having so much skin still is rough. The fact that I "melt" when I sit down is frustrating haha Congratulations on your weightloss!! Thank you so much for your reaponse!

    MN - Duluth/Superior

I grew up in Duluth and was going to have surgery there but decided to have it in Rochester because it's closer to home. My family is still in Duluth and my mom had RNY with Dr Lenz about 11 years ago

  22. Typically with WLS hairloss is a very common side-effect/experience that people have. I know I have been experiencing it a LOT the last 2ish months. I get in protien and am taking Biotin and every other suggestion my doctor has to help with hairloss and hairgrowth. I was just wondering how other people deal with the hair loss. What kind of vitimins and such do you take and what has helped either keep your hair/help it grow faster? Also what kind of hair syles would be good to help cover up any hairloss or make it seem less noticeable?
