  1. I for some reason have never gotten any notifications on this topic ever until the last one today! I'm sorry! I'm almost 3 years out from my sleeve surgery and it was the best decision I've ever made in my life. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Bertha and his entire staff is amazing! You are in great hands with him! I have found from friends going to other surgeons as well that Dr. Berthas phases of eating after the surgery is one of the best and most successfully layed out. Just follow the packets they give you to a T and listen to them and you will be successful in your weight loss journey! Best of luck to you!

    Killer Hiccups?

I'm so glad it's not just me! They feel like murder! It's reassuring knowing that they will eventually go away!
  3. I had my surgery yesterday morning Aug 5th. I keep having these horrible hiccups! I feel like I'm going to rip my staples! Does anyone else have hiccups?
  4. So how is everyone doing at their 1 day post op? I had my surgery yesterday at around 8:30am at a surgical center and was released around 4pm. The barium test was hard to swallow but it went all the way through me during the X-ray so they released me. Today I am miserable. Way more pain than yesterday at my incision points. Icing helps a lot. I'm so swollen inside I can only manage baby sips of water and they seem to always get stuck. Stay away from jello today! I chewed up a tiny bite till it was paste and I choked on it. I gagged on it about 5 times and it eventually went down. Anyone else having problems getting broth and jello down? I find ice pops to be the easiest. Good luck all my fellow Aug 5 sleevers!

    Best Tasting Chicken Broth?

Thank you! I have a couple samples of the unjury broth that I haven't tried yet. Hopefully it's good! I didn't care for any of the other flavors I was thinking of springing for the more expensive brand name broths as well, good to know they're still just broth lol!
  7. I'm in the liquid diet stage and chicken broth is so bland. Does anyone have some brands they've found taste better than others?

    Coloring hair

Which birth control pill did you go on? I would like to discuss switching with my doctor if I'm on one that's high estrogen. I'll do anything to keep my hair!!
  9. I feel exactly the same way you do. I'm afraid because I already eat really well and I'm afraid I'm going to do this and nothing will change except that I can no longer eat :-/ I'm sure though that we will succeed! It has to work! Right?
  10. That is exactly how I feel too! I'm more excited than I am scared. I just want to get this over with so I can move on. I've tried it all too, I'm right there with ya!
  11. I'm scheduled for my sleeve with Dr. Bertha on August 5th. I'm just curious to hear how other people's sleeve surgeries went with him so I know what to expect. How long were stage 1 and stage 2 for you?
  12. I am August 5th as well! I'm super excited but I've also started the dreaded "what am I doing to myself." I know that having this surgery is a must but it's so hard to digest (pun intended) the fact that I'm losing a large part of myself. I'm sad to say goodbye to all of the food that has been my best friend for so long, but in the end I can't wait to see the old me that has been lost for so long. I'm super excited and super scared. Anyone else feel that way?
