    1st July Sleevers

Yesss the pre-op diet is hard!! I have experienced the growling stomach but also I have been snappy with my husband and today I have a headache that I am thinking is caffeine withdrawal. I try to keep looking to the future realizing it will get better but sometimes that doesn't help much and my surgery is not until the 8th so I have a bit to go. It is nice to have others to share with because as loving and supportive as my husband, mom and friends are they have no idea how much I am struggling at times. Hang in there!!

July 7th is my surgery date!

My date is July 8th and my emotions have been up and down. That coupled with a negative reaction from one of my best friends when I told her has not made it much easier. As with any surgery there are risks but I have heard and read more positive stories then negative so keep that in mind. Also, do you have anyone close by that has had the surgery and a good outcome. I am lucky to have 2 co-workers who have recently had the sleeve and they are doing FABULOUSLY. They have been supportive and have helped alleviate some of my worries. They have both said the 2 week liquid diet before surgery was the hardest (if you have to do that type of pre-op diet. The diets seem to really vary). I am doing the pre-op now and it is TOUGH. So I am thinking it can only get better. Keep your chin up and be careful what you read, put faith in you doctor, too. Good luck!

    Pre-op diet

Wow...a couple days or one week sounds great. I have 2 weeks of 5 protein shakes a day and clear liquids. I too question why all the differences but I will follow what the doc says. A couple co-workers had the sleeve and both said the liquid diet was the hardest part. That realization is helping me stay focused! ! Good luck.
  4. My date is July 8th too and I am getting good excited. I told my best friend did and got a similar reaction as you got from you aquatic instructor which completely surprised me. I then started to second guess myself but my mom and my husband helped me realize that this has been a hard journey and a decision that I made after careful contemplation and research. It's also taken a while for me to talk to others about it realize I am not failure because of choosing this tool. It's going to be hard but I am up for the challenge to be healthier! Good luck on the 8th.
  5. I am July 8th! Doing pre-op diet now consisting of only protein shakes and clear liquids. It's just about killing me! Right now I am thinking more about food and less about being nervous but I am sure that will change as it gets closer.
