Anyone have Kaiser Permanente?
Really just depends how much weight they want you to lose and how soon you lose it. The other requirements can be met within a month or two. I was ready by 3-4 months. Good luck!

The pain medicine worked if it knocked me out but the gas pain in the shoulders was bad had I known I would have brought a tennis ball to rub my back against the wall that would of helped. But it's Saturday I'm home now and I'm fine. No pain meds at all except at bedtime and mine was laporoscopic. Happy days ahead!

Truly don't know what to do
Protein pudding and Greek yogurt are so good not sure if you tried them. I also like the genepro couldn't Tate it at all I'd try mixing it in a coffee drink or crystal light. Look on bariatric pantry website for some other yummy drinks not protein shakes then try to add a little of the genepro? U can find proteins that taste better than protein shake I know I have. Good luck to you!

Bariatric vitamins
Kaiser has an extensive Vitamin requirement. Centrum chewable adult twice a day, 1500 of Calcium three times a day you take 500. Vitamin B 12 liquid or sublingual, Vitamin D 1000 MC, Selenium, vitamin b1 (thiamin), Iron with Vitamin C. So far between CVS, Walmart, vitamin shop, and Celebrate Vitamins. I was able to get everything in chewable or liquid except for the vitamin B-1 which I had to crush today with my Pepcid. I know not everyone follows the requirement because it is so strict. But I'm gonna definitely give this a shot for the first two months and then maybe go to a bariatric vitamin. Kaiser did not endorse any of the bariatric vitamins to meet all of the bodies requirements. They still want u to take several different things specific vitamins. At my six month check up they will run my vitamin levels I guess we'll see then.

Day 1 and day 2. Not pretty. Not gonna lie. Walking is ok but getting up from bed is unbearable. Hurts to drink anything burns really bad going down. Gas must be in there because my back and shoulder blades could use a massage. The IV morphine did the trick but day 2 I have to try to drink more and not be nauseas. Wish me luck

Important liquid diet question
I would try the genesis protein in a broth or soup and not just protein shakes . Are u allowed some diluted fruit juice? I am and I had some yesterday just in case the body needed a little sugar and the broth I'm drinking today has some sodium:) hope it helps.

Any November Sleevers?
Tomorrow is the big day! I just found broth in these flavors - hot and sour , Tuscan chicken! The hot and sour is amazing and I can't wait to use in the future with real food in it! Here is to tomorrow!

Where are the November Sleevers?
Last day of clear liquids and surgery tomorrow! Found berry propel water last night and I love it. Gonna be more in the cabinet for next week. Not as bad aftertaste as the sugar free Gatorade etc. and my radberry ice crystal light I love too.

Anyone have Kaiser Permanente?
Which kaiser ? I'm in sacramento and there were quite a few steps (appointments and classes etc) but it only took 5 months and that's because I wasn't sticking to my diet exactly or I could gave done it in 3 months. Depends how much weight your surgeon wants you to lose first then the sooner you do you can have met all the other requirements

3 days til surgery !
I went this weekend and got my underarms and legs waxed thinking it would be weeks til I could do it again. And a pedicure. I went withs friend and we had Indian food after it was a nice day! I ran out if time and steam. I am probably going to be up all night before surgery but what's new. I have tons of paperwork and things that need done but can't be done in time. So just have to enjoy the ride. Sunday we celebrated my sons bday so we went to Breakfast and I got potatoe pancakes eggs and bacon and coffee. I did have a loaded fry and some Halloween candy now I'm on liquids till Thursday . Last week I did go have Indian food and a last steak and lobster who knows how long til I can digest steak again. And I had a cold stone icecream too. All cravings have been met now hopefully after I lose this weight and enjoy a few bites of something when I want it and that will be ok. It's about making better choices and portion control . Portions were my downfall so praying that this sleeve allows me to get into smaller portions by habit and necessity !

So much to do so little time!
My program through kaiser doesn't require approvals just an appointment to see a surgeon and the psych eval so once they gave me the appointments and I lost the required weight then I got my surgery date.

Anyone having surgery on 11/6?
Me too! My son is 7 and first I told him surgery because they did find a tumor on my liver last month then decided he will tell people I don't want so I just said they are going to look at my insides. @ nprcowboy Supplies-I got two months of various Vitamins required through my kaiser program. All but one is chewable or liquid but got them at walmart, cvs, online at (celebrate vitamins) to get it all. Don't want to worry bout crushing pills! I also ordered 2 kinds of Protein powder (flavored), 1 unflavored to add to Soup, yogurt, applesauce. Got a Ninja blender, food thermometer, insulated cups for sipping, blender ball shakers for on the go. Tummy binder, slip on walking shoes, gas x strips. From grocery, Jello, sugar free (sf) pudding, Popsicles, lowfat cream Soups, strainer, light and fit Greek yogurt, in chunky unsweetened applesauce, Cream of wheat. Some premade Protein Shakes for the on the go but just a case because I may not like em later! Try bariatric pantry. Got done samples and after surgery will order more things for the rest of the month.

So much to do so little time!
I'm trying so hard to do lots of things before next Thursday (surgery day). Not sure why I did not plan better. Trying to add extra insurance plans, update will, organize house, do heavy lifting that won't be allowed next month, organize clothes. I'm so tired. Want to deep clean the house since people will be staying a few nights but just decided to hire someone and go enjoy my life the next few days. Had my last steak last night probably for quite sometime. shakes all day then dinner of my choice. Tonight is pizza, tomorrow Indian food. I am starting liquids Sunday even though they are not required until Tuesday. So just enjoying time with friends and family and some meals out. Totally prepared for a change now. Been working toward this for months. Ordered a few more coffee sample packs (protein) since i gave up coffee, and some Soups with Protein, plain Protein powder and a few kinds of regular flavor powders. Packing my bag up tomorrow for the hospital. Getting a few extra blender bottles tomorrow and a ninja to blend my drinks in. Enjoying a day with my friend tomorrow getting wax, nails and lunch maybe massage . A day of pampering! Then Sunday six flags for my sons bday. By Monday am I will have nothing else to do but wait for Thursday! Super stoked!
