    Cigna

I just got approved yesterday for gastric bypass with Cigna. I know my requirements included a 5 year weight history, so if you fall under the 40 BMI with no comorbidities or 35 with comorbidities within that time frame it might be an issue. I was also required to do a 3 month supervised diet, psych eval, nutrition classes, etc. I did not read anything about recent surgeries in the bariatric literature they sent me on qualifying. But you are already 9 months since your surgery and if you have to do the supervised diet that will put you at a year. So I don't think that will be an issue. In the end I think it is if the surgeon is comfortable performing it. Good luck with your appointment on the 11th, that's the date of my upper GI and final consult before surgery.

    Chewable Vitamins - HELP!

I use the Celebrate Vitamins, the Pineapple Strawberry Multi isn't to bad.
  4. I haven't had my surgery yet, but will be sometime during the end of August. I am using Dr. Steinberg in Decatur, GA and he is also using the robot. He said it takes about an hour to complete.

    warner Robins Georgia!

I am from Columbus, GA also. Dr. Cartwright was suppose to do my surgery but my insurance wouldn't cover him since he isn't a centers of excellency yet. So I have been going to Atlanta ever since.
  6. I am sorry that you lost a friend, but if this is the way she feels then you are better off without her. Obviously she can't see the bigger picture, that WLS surgery isn't about changing the way we look. It is solely about getting healthy, becoming thinner is just an added benefit. Is it so wrong that you want to extend your life?
