    Anybody Stricture!

I had a stricture about 3 weeks after my surgery, intense pain, vomiting and extreme weakness. I couldn't walk on my own after puking for nearly 16 hours straight. My doc had me come into the ER, and then proceeded to do another 12 hours of tests, exams. ( it didn't help that the ER was under construction and super crowded). I ended up having an endoscopy and a dilation. The nausea stopped within 2-3 hours after, and I did not puke again. I was able to progress back through the food stages quickly to get back to the full liquids/ runny purées I was on before. I've done great since.

    What are your reasons?

Ditching my cpap Being able to play with my kids Walk or even run without feeling embarrassed and in pain. ( I'm actually training for my very first 5k now!) Be able to buy high quality trendy clothing instead of mail order , " ugh, it fits so it's fine" Wear sleeveless shirts Ride roller coasters Feel beautiful, sexy and confident But my biggest reasons are my three daughters. I want to dance at their weddings, hold my grandchildren. Be alive because, frankly, the way I was going, I would not be alive in 10-20 years.

    July RNY Page

    HW 336 SW 312 CW 270 My surgery was July 23, I'm a little over 8 weeks out. I feel amazing but I keep having stalls, for 2 weeks at a time. It's frustrating. I'm down from a size 34 to a 24 and from a 5 x to a very loose 3x shirt.

    Just realized

I just realized that for the first time in years, I'm no longer 200 pounds overweight. whoa... mindblowing.

    July RNY Page

July 23 for me. I'm 52 lbs down total, 28 lbs since surgery. I've had 2 rehospitalizations and a 5 day initial stay due to a GI bleed. I've had a stricture, blockage and an infection. I finally seem to be on the road to feeling better. I'm walking as much as possible, but I'm really struggling to get in enough Water. I have a post op visit on August 29, so I'm looking forward to talking to my surgeon. One thing that has driven me nuts is the 3 week stall. I hit it at 2 weeks out due to the pre op diet and stayed there for two weeks. I'm crazy about weighing in and even though the surgeon and his nurse told me not to weigh in every day, I do. It's important for me to see that scale moving down. I had to buy new clothes already. I've gone down 2 sizes in my pants and shirt and 1 size in my bra. It's so surreal to have to put clothes back because they're too big.

    Abdominal burning

I have dimpling around my largest incision, it was a lot worse while I was still retaining gas and water.

    What if this is it?

Totally normal, I hit a stall at 2 weeks out 21 lbs down and I'm still there. Literally 292.2 no matter what I eat or don't eat or how much I walk. I talked to my husband about how frustrating it is to go through all of this and to feel like maybe that's all I'll lose, and he said" your body is healing, it's been through major trauma. It's putting all it's energy and effort into healing and trying to figure out why it's not working the way it should. On top of that, you're giving it 300-600 calories a day. It's scared it'll starve. Let it figure this out and soon the scale will move down again. In the mean time follow directions, and the plan". My husband is a smart guy lol

    Abdominal burning

I've been told it's normal. But the pain I'm having isn't quite burning but I'm not sure how to describe it. I hope you feel better soon, if you're very concerned, call your doctor.
  9. I'm finding that for me my food addiction is greatly increasing the struggle to "be good" and stay on diet, I have another week to go on the puréed diet and the food cravings are so intense. I'm mourning the foods I can't eat. I knew I had a problem but I never thought it was this bad. I'm trying to replace food cravings with Water or with a different activity, it'll be easier to do that when I can exercise more. I'm still dealing with a lot of intense pain.

    July bypass

Mine was July 23. I've had a few complications and one rehospitalization. My first weigh in was 336, I went to 306 then chugged water like there was no tomorrow in prep for surgery. Surgery weight was 309, went to 319 with fluids in the hospital, current weight is 292, for a loss of 44 lbs total

    Its here!

I came home after 5 days in the hospital, I'm a week out and 12 lbs down. I'm exhausted and trying to just get back to my baseline. I had a lot of blood loss and required 2 blood transfusions.

    Its here!

Surgery went well. It lasted a longer time than we had planned, due to pelvic scaring ( 3 sections and 3 spinal surgeries) I'm feeling tired, and I'm ready to stop hurting. I'm not having much gas pain, but the incision on my left... Wow! I've had sugar free Jello, sugar free grape juice, chicken broth and Water. It's actually tasty. I should be allowed to start full liquids today and I started walking yesterday.
  15. Y surgery is tomorrow morning at 11:30 am. I have to be at the hospital by 9:30. I'm scared, nervous and very excited.
