  1. Sure I lost some weight. I think I was 461lb and almost three years later I am still 322lb. Stress. That's one. But let me tell you the crap I put myself in. I was married. Now I am divorced. Lost several jobs but got a new career. Fathered twin boys. Dated a long time friend. Proposed to said friend. She walked out of the engagement after 2 months. Kid's mother is being very strict on visitation. Cannot afford an attorney so I'm stuck on that for the time beiing. Have resorted to binge drinking since I can't gorge on food. I had to stop doing that when I passed out and woke up to realize I drank a half bottle of vodka. Depressed over not one, not two but THREE failed relationships since the surgery. Diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, Paranoid Personality Disorder & anxiety. My doctor has prescibed an anti-depressant and a benzodiazepine. I've also spent 8 days in a lock-down psych facility. Lastly I contemplated suicide but couldn't leave my new twin boys fatherless. I cannot stress the importance of maintaining a connection with a mental health professional for at least a year post surgery. Had I done that I would not be in the mess I am. I still have 60-70lb to lose. I live very meagerly due to child support (which I don't mind) and have an ex-wife, ex-girlfriend & an ex-fiancee. Add that to my physical and sexual abuse as a child and it's amazing I'm still standing upright. At 39, I am trying to rebuild my life. SIngle while co-parenting is hard but doable. Trying to finish college to move up in the company. But the hard part I see is managing relationship dissolution. Of any kind. Be it parental, sibling, child, romantic or professional. A lot of us turned to food to comfort these times. Once we see that it's no longer an option, we look around for a crossover addiction. My "drugs" of choice were alcohol and sex. Let me be perfectly clear about andmy addictions: Private sins almost always have public consequences. Have a therapist and psych team ready post-surgery. The psych eval prior to the VSG is not enough. No one can say wht they will do post surgery until it actually happens. Be safe people.

    Exercising after getting help

I am nearly three years removed form VSG surgery. I used to be nearly 500lb (460lb) but am stuck at just over 300lb (well 327lb to be exact). I am 6'2" and 39 years old. Recently I figured out I had a big crossover addicition....drinking. I was a binge drinker for a year and a half after surgery. Now I know you can't get any real weight off drinking hard liquor. Now, I am working out and cutting my carbs down. Thankfully I have no health issues like diabetes or liver damage. I have started on four supplements to facilitate more fat loss. Optii-Men (one tab daily) Garcinia Cambogia (one tab in the morning) EGCg (one tab in the afternoon) Green coffee Bean Extract (one tab around 18:00) For exercise (Mon-Fri) 30 Kettlebell Swings 35lb bell 30 Diamond Pushups 5 min Jumping Rope 10 Kettlebell Curls (per arm) 18lb bell I consume 100g of Protein daily (some say it's too low or too high, my body takes this amount). I really don't count carbs but I keep it relatively normal. If I had to guess it is nearly 150g daily. Sometimes much less. I can tell if I eat too much fats as I had my gallbladder remover a year before surgery. Anyone that has knows what happens when too much fats are consumed, lol. In the absence of binge drinking I find difficulty in dealing with anxiety and stress. As such I have been on Klonopin and begin Emotionally Focused Therapy on Monday. I know I am a ways out from surgery but just recently I felt like I am free an able to control my life. I don't know if anybody has ever done a supplement and workouut routine similar to mine. But I would be interested in any critiques or results anybody had. Thank you for reading my post and any comments you may have.

    Exercising after getting help

I do my "circuit" routine twice. Now 5x a week is a lot. If I don't do that I do a drop set of burpees from 10.

    Exercise Routine

I am nearly 3 years out from my sleeve surgery. I used to weight 460lb but am now 324lb. I know it may not be a lot after 3 years but it's far better than still being 460lb. Anyways... I wanted to post my exercise routine along with my supplement regimine. My exercises are dome for 5 min each with a 1 min break in between. Here they go: Kettlebell Swings with 35lb bell Pushups Jump Rope Single-arm Kettlebell Curls I do this on the following schedule: Mon/Thu/Sun/Wed/Sat/Tue/Fri That covers about three weeks. My supplements are Opti-Men 1 tab daily Indole-3-carbinol 1 cap 2x/day Holy Basil 1 cap 2x/day I'm not looking to be under 200lb at 6'2" but 240lb is nice. I may look good at 265lb. I hope this keeps working. I did a "cottage cheese" test and found my stomach is about 11oz. After this run of exercises (12 weeks) I will reevaluate myself and keep working toward first just getting under 300lb. Thank you for looking at this post and I do welcome comments, questions and critiques.

    Exercise Routine

Awesome idea BNTN. We should have a regional lift group. I'm a little bit away from most out here in Las Vegas. But I appreciate everyone's words of encouragement and wisdom.
