  1. Hi all! Anyone close to Baltimore city/county area that would want to start a meet-up/walking group? Let me know!
  2. Roo- This was a really refreshing post to stumble on, exactly what I needed. I've been MIA after surgery last April, and like you, am falling back into old patterns. In fact, this post sounded exactly like what I was about to put up here myself! I'd love to keep in contact and encourage each other! I also work a desk job (with a snack table) and need the positive motivation during the day. I am so frustrated to see myself putting on weight after all of the positive work I've done. The struggle is real!
  3. My partner discovered a little trick today to make a mock soda, so i thought id share! I'm not supposed to have it regularly, but this would be great for when I need a little treat. She took a can of La Croix sparkling Water (we had grapefruit in the house) and added a squirt of Dasani pink lemonade water flavoring. I just poured half into a little glass for myself. It was great! Tasted just like some kind of diet soda, without being "too" diet tasting that would make me crave more soda. It was actually really refreshing! And all with 0 cals, fat, carbs etc.

    Pseudo-soda discovery

@@mi75 Thats a good idea! I HATE the taste of flat soda, but it might be a good idea when I occasionally crave the taste of sprite/coke!

    Pseudo-soda discovery

my NUT actually said the same thing; that soda doesnt make your pouch stretch. Rather that its just not a good food to get back into, esp if you had an issue with it pre-surgery. Its something I like to have infrequently as a treat, so I thought i'd share. Esp becuase i think if you make this in sparkling Water, wouldnt it still count toward your water intake? Obviously I wouldnt suggest making the above if soda was an issue for you in the past. I just thought it was a creative way to get some bubbles if you are feeling like it (and your NUT approves).
  6. I have lots of pants/shirts/jeans etc in size 20-24. Lots of professional and casual clothing.
  7. So far it hasn't been an issue, but I think the dr said there are many liquid forms of meds available! Good to know.
  8. One of the hardest was dealing with coworkers (who I decided not to tell) and their constant questions. I know they are always whispering about it and that's annoying. Maybe that's just the office experience tho lol everyone loves other peoples business. I agree with drinking while eating, it's really hard! And I wish I would have had a better idea about how sore I would really be after surgery. I thought I'd just be hyped on pain meds but it wasn't that easy! It was just all-around uncomfortable in the hospital. Not unbearable, but still. I think you are already ahead of the game by asking everyone! Best of luck!
  9. Hi, I've also got bipolar. No real emotional changes thankfully. No changes to meds either. I was sleeved 22 April. I was more afraid of the size of some of my pills, but none of the docs said it was an issue.
  10. It's funny, I used to be the exact opposite (very adventurous eater), I loved trying new things. Now I literally get sick at the thought of some foods. Weird!
  11. Hands down Unjury. I could drink the chocolate splendor every day. Kimber- I think the site is something like bariatric basket?
  12. Thanks! That was nice!

    Green drinks

Kale (or spinach), beet, carrot and apple. Good secret- Throw a green apple or a kiwi in with anything and you'll never taste the "green" stuff!

    Tried Unjury!

I am compelled to join and say the unjury choc splendor is literally the BEST Protein powder I have ever tried (and we've been through at least 10 others). Just ordered 2 more today. It tastes like chocolate milk, and is the only powder I've found that dissolves well. And no chalky protein taste. Literally none! I wish someone would have told me this before I wasted hundreds on other powders!
  15. Hey! I know this is a late response, but I'm fairly new to BP. Still looking for walking buddies?

    Calories at 6 weeks out

I'm curious about that too. I've been tracking with myfitnesspal and feel like I'm definitely getting up to 700-800 cal a day, but others are saying they only take in 500ish. Wonder if I'm consuming too much?
