  1. Let us know how you like it! I just tried unjury for the first time and it's actually not bad... but I can foresee getting sick of it real quick, lol. Oy vey. Does getting Protein in ever get easier?
  2. I tried some lean beef today... two bites and that was it. Came back up. Soooo I would definitely stick to the tuna and chicken. I still haven't tried chicken yet but I snack on tuna all day.
  3. I've seen threads about this but I didn't have the sleeve personally. Do a search of the forums and you'll find it! (Sorry I couldn't be of more help)
  4. I did, all of it was normal except that my doc said to call if the fever was over 101 degrees. Definitely call the doc ASAP.
  5. @ktucker1979: It's the worst in the summer! I mean, of course, I'll throw up my hair if I'm working out or cleaning, etc. But sometimes I would just be sitting at a friend's house and sweating! But no more! I can't believe the difference 20 lbs. makes.
  6. I think you know yourself better than anyone and your boyfriend should respect your wishes. Right after my surgery and throughout the night of, people came and visited me and I hardly remember it because I was in so much pain and on meds. I appreciated it, of course, but it might've been better if they had all just waited to visit me at home so I was at least conscious.
  7. Yay! I love tattoos! I wasn't sure how to add images... so I just did it that way ^^^ Sorry!

  9. I like proofreading and editing Could you maybe e-mail it to me so you can see where I make notes and such?
  10. Bahahaha, this made me laugh. I never thought about it before but now I have been warned. I've actually invested in some cute wristlets for when I don't feel like carrying my purse. Just stick the essentials (phone, chapstick, ID, card/money, keys) in there and go!
  11. Thank you!! I'm growing out my hair right now and I used to have to put it up all the time and now I leave it down! The hubby loves it, of course. I'm just excited not to be a sweaty, fat person anymore, lol.
  12. Right now, I miss wings... I had a huge sweet tooth before and now I just don't. I used to want ice cream all the time, and now the thought just grosses me out. Soda and I were friends before surgery but we ended our relationship in a good place. It's so horrible for you, even the diet stuff. When you think about what it does to your body and teeth, you just won't even want it. Of course, I miss drinking my water. My friend called me a camel because of how much water I drank, lol.
  13. I don't know if the cravings will ever go away. However, since my surgery, I do NOT crave sweets at all. The thought of ice cream, cake and Cookies just makes me sick. I was a candy fiend as well and the only thing I crave is my Mexican candies, lol. Right now, I crave "junk meat" like wings and ribs. Otherwise, I've had no desire for chips or anything like that. Pretty sure everyone is different, but if you're a sweet tooth like me, I think the bypass gets rid of that, lol.
  14. of the days I can shop in the regular sizes, walk a lot and not get tired, have more energy, be more active, not worry about seat belts not fitting... I know there's a lot of these kinds of posts but when I'm having a bad day that's full of nausea and I'm feeling like a failure, this is what I think about. A small NSV for me is since I've lost 22 lbs., whenever I go to the store or go out and about, I don't get SUPER sweaty. I live in AZ so it's in the 100s right now, but I used to sweat for NO reason. Now, I only sweat when I'm in the heat for a prolonged amount of time. I don't sweat when I'm just walking around a store or anything. It's so nice.
  15. Wow, didn't even think about the possible size change... I can't wait to feel comfortable walking in heels and wedges but I guess I shouldn't buy any shoes until I lose more weight!
  16. Lol, I guess I can't let it get to me too much... people in general don't get it. I just wanna be like, well if your stomach was a 1/4 of it's normal size and you had your insides swirled around, how long did you think it would take?!!? Huh??
  17. ...people asking me how long it will take to recover! This isn't a surgery where I just "go back to normal" and move on with my life! It could take months to "recover"! Ugh, it's just driving me nuts to have to explain to people this process. I get that weight loss surgery is not the most well known thing out there but come on!
  18. That's what happens to me as well. My doctor's nurse told me that right now I should be "grazing." So I eat constantly right now. Just a few bites here and there and drink my Water in between. The Protein shakes keep me full longer so if you have a job or anything, I would suggest keeping those handy. I really like the tuna salad kits. I eat one like all day and its 18g of protein! I also have cravings. Not for sweets anymore, but for savory things like chips and wings. I try to curb that by eating my tuna salad and just not thinking about it too much. I also plan on doing some cooking here soon to try out some bariatric recipes I found online. There's a lot you can eat right now, believe it or not, you just have to find what you like and what keeps you satisfied.
  19. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KXZ808/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got this EatSmart scale and absolutely LOVE it. It goes up to 400 lbs. and comes with a measuring tape. You don't have to tap it to come on, so you just stand on it and it records your weight! AND it's only $28.95. I'm really happy with it.
  20. @BigGirl2014: I'm sorry you have been having some issues. I know exactly how you feel because I was in a ton of pain (meds did not help) and have been nauseous for no apparent reason ever since. I would suggest Emetrol (over-the-counter at any drugstore). I got really dehydrated over the last couple of days and had to go in and get IV fluids for 10 hours (ugh) because I was so nauseous. Doc won't give me meds for some reason, so I'm left to my own vices. The Emetrol really helped. I would definitely suggest taking a tablespoon of it and see how you feel in about 15-20 minutes. Take half of it, wait a minute then the other half. It hurt my stomach at first, then I felt relief. I have been fine since yesterday when I got it. Drink LOTS of Water too! The only other thing is the popsicles are sort of helpful, but that's all I've got for now. Best of luck to you, keep us updated.
  21. WOW Can I have your body now please? Your scars are barely there! P.S. Love your tats. Would you ever get tats over your scars? I'm definitely contemplating it when I'm all healed and stuff.
  22. @2muchfun: Great article. I've seen so many posts about this issue and everyone saying it's "normal" but no one has a real explanation. Super helpful! Thank you!
  23. @@old lady pilot - thank you so much. I know I can do this. I just have to pep talk myself or sometimes I call my mom to help me feel better, since she's been through something similar. All I can hope is that this isn't leading up to a worse problem and it's just my body adjusting to the surgery.
  24. I've always thought, I am a skinny girl on the inside! I like to go out, see people, do things. I know if I wasn't overweight and out-of-shape basically my whole life, I would've been more involved in more physical activities. As a younger girl, I know I would've been more confident. In my post-college life, I am definitely more confident but my physical stature has always limited my activities. I want to dance, hike, swim, run around on the beach, walk for miles around fun places like Disneyland and Six Flags, go out with friends and not worry about being the fat one of the group. I think about this often as motivation. By NO means do I want to be "skinny," but healthy. In fact, I'd rather keep my boobs/butt and not be skinny, lol.
