Next meeting this Tuesday August 19 6:30 pm at patio outside Corner Bakery in Lake Forest off El Toro Road in Orchard center. I may not be there but I will give some info. Hopefully after the summer is over we can meet on a more regular basis, like twice a month.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I read many times and experienced it myself. Eat more calories and you will probably get out of the stall. If you stay low for too long your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to everything. Maybe add another "meal" or higher cal items like avocados. If you are exercising consistently you will lose inches. Historically I would work out like a crazy lady, drop inches, look better, but not drop a single pound. Now finally with my sleeve I'm doing both. I average 3 pounds a week and to be honest I am not exercising. I eat 1000-1200 calories and day in 5-6 meals, 97% clean whole foods. In the back of my mind I always remember what my nut said. I was chatting with her about my hunger levels and the number of times I eat a day 5-6. She asked "is it working", yes, then stick with it. So I remind myself if it's "working" (dropping weight) then stick with it, if not then I need to change. My 2 cents

Susan welcome, please join us. Thank you Laura, hope your recovery is going well.
  9. Dad is having his shoulder fully replaced. He is in hospital now, I will be caring for him after for at least a week. Sorry about the stall, do you track your total calories?
  10. Where is everyone? Busy dropping the pounds? I fell like I can confidentially say that I will no longer weigh over 200 pounds. This past week I hit 193.4 after a 4 pound loss. BUT..... I am having a hard time with cravings. A few weeks ago I was on a trip and I "indulged" in carby items that really shouldn't be on my radar like chips and white hamburger bun. Since then I have been nibbling every day. Today I did a weight check and it was higher than my official Monday weigh in. I periodically check once or twice during the week to see where I am, but try really hard not to worry about it until my Monday weigh in. I am trying not to be discouraged, yesterday I drove 330 mile by myself with my 2 kids, ate some high salt items, etc. I am telling myself its just the road trip and the stress of my dads surgery today. How are the rest of the June 9, 10ers doing? Love to see updates.

I think I can officially say I will NEVER go above 200 again. Sleeved 6/10, lost over 4 pounds last week to a low of 193. Total loss 37. I have been having carby cravings and more times than not, losing the battle. Small losses but still not stuff that's on my approved list.

I know, I'm a bit bored of the no carb thing. I was 6/10 and my next food phase meeting nov 4th when I can add starchy carbs. With the beans and Greek yo I get between 70-100 g carbs in a day. I'd say up calories first and see how that goes.

Honestly that's a lots of carbs compared to my dr.s plan. We don't add starchy carbs (bread or potatoes) until about 6 months out. We just added fruits and milk and it's only 1 serving a day. I'd roughly say you are about 700 calories or less. It might be too little. I am supposed to have fat with eat meal coming from either oil, avos, or mayo. That will bump up your calories

Have your tracked your total calories and total protein. As weird as it sounds you should eat more. Try to get to at least 1200. Our nut mentioned that if you have too few your body will go into starvation mode and a stall will happen. I am same as you 197.2, surgery weight was 218, before 230. I've slowed but so far still losing. Only 1 stall (not really) at 207 for 4 days. I range about 900-1100 calories with 60-90g protein. I eat 5-6 times a day. I don't use protein powder.
