Did you need a weight history?

Anxiously waiting for Monday for the surgeon's seminar. Can't do anything till I go to that. Anxious to what requirements I'll have. Worried I don't have weight history documentation...bmi isn't an issue. Anxious all around...feel like Monday will never get here...,

I'm still following....seminar is Monday...the journey begins!

Mrs Bailey...I have no problem with the BMI as I'm over 60. Do you mind me asking what surgeon you used? Also what requirements you needed for approval? Waiting (impatiently) for my July 7 seminar to get things started!

I'm about to enter the world of jumping hoops for insurance approval. Ill be going to Dr. Neff/ Kennedy. Seminar July 7! Anyone have tips or experience as to what requirements to expect?

I can't wait to actually have a plan of action. I switched surgeons and have my seminar in 2 days. I want my appt and to know what I have to get done! I want to get started!!

I haven't even seen the surgeon yet but I've started making changes. Dropped the iced coffee with caramel...next the morning coffee....

I'm right there with you not knowing....like the requirements. Etc...

Not even close....my seminar is next wednesday and hopefully get an appointment soon after. Not sure how long the wait time is.

Dr Balsama is also with Kennedy Bariatric. Has anyone had experience with him?

I'm at the very beginning of my journey. I called my insurance company for details this morning before I go to my initial consult on the 16th. First off they allow both surgeries I'm considering so that's good. Then the girl said 12 months preop dieting. 12 months?? Next she said I can only choose from a short list of surgeons in the state. Of course the surgeon I'd picked and had an appointment for is not on the list. I really felt she was just reading as she goes along...not really knowing..I have Horizon NJHealth. Is anyone familiar with this?

I've thought all along that I wanted sleeve but as I've been researching and given the amount of weight I need to lose (200) I'm thinking bypass is the better decision. I have my consult June 16.
