  1. Hey guys! I was sleeved 6\30\14. My first 2 weeks I did awesome and lost 23.5 pounds! I was so excited. Now I'm on, soft mushy foods and I haven't moved the scale at all! I, actually gained a pound. I know a pound is nothing but since im at a complete halt with my weight loss I feel like I might be doing something wrong. Did this happen to anyone else this early after the sleeve?

  2. I'm on clear liquids with Protein (Isopure drinks, Jello made with Isopure, broth with added protein powder) plus any zero cal beverages until Monday, which will be one full week. Then I transition to full liquids (soy milk, Protein Shakes, etc.). I'm not having any trouble getting the appropriate liquids down at all, and I'm stArting to worry about that. Like maybe this should be harder? Please, someone tell me I'm crazy!

Your crazy ???? don't worry!!!! Some people just heal faster and u were blessed to be one of them!! Just make sure you take your time and listen to ur body. I'm noticing when I'm full it's a different type of fullness that I'm used to. It kind feels like i have a lump in my chest. It's all an adjustment period

  3. No injections for me - just medicine to prevent ulcers. I was able to get more liquids and Proteins in, but it was awfully hard. I have zero interest in food and am concerned at how quickly the weight is coming off - ten pounds since Monday morning.

Congrats!!! I'm ten pounds down to!! I agree though I'm not getting much fluids down. Only about 8 oz which scares me a little bc I'm worried about dehydration

  4. I think you will be just fine. I'm from NY and I work at a hospital. I tend to see a lot of patients that come in the morning for various surgeries including sleeve, lapband, and bypass. I've also seen many people with Health First and they all have approvals. Just remember, it's never set in stone if your insurance denies you. Your surgeon and his billing/precertification team just have to have the right push to fight for you. It could take a couple times but more likely than not the insurance will end up paying for it as long as you go through all their ridiculous requirements. As long as you did everything you were supposed to you will be fine! Also remember it benefits your insurance company as well. If you have a surgery to assist you with losing weight it also prevents you from other serious chronic conditions. This means that your insurance company would have to pay more in the long run if you didn't lose weight. They may be tough but they def aren't stupid and insurance companies love to save every penny they can get.

  5. Wow! I'm so excited to see so many replies. Everything you guys said is a huge help. Thank you all for helping me. I guess I'm just really nervous because I'm having a revision from the lapband to a sleeve. I had such problems with my lapband that I kind of lost sight of my goals and gave up and I really want the sleeve to be different. It really gives me a heads up on the sleeve and I'm feeling much more comfortable after hearing your advice. It sounds like it's going to be a really hard process however worth it! I'm def going to stick around here and I look forward to talking to everyone on here and really getting to my goals :D

  6. Looking back on your journey if you're post op, is there any advice you could share about pre-op, post op, struggles, complications etc? Is there anything you would do differently? Is there anything that you wished someone would have told you before having the surgery?

I've done all my research about the sleeve and read a lot of stories and listened to what my doctors have to say. However it's always different hearing it from someone who has gone through it themselves. =D
