  1. Hello all,

Before surgery, I found a great Protein shake with 30g of Protein. Loved the taste and all was well. Since then, I've done my best to drink 2/day. I always drink 1. I don't care for the taste nearly as much now, but hey... 30 g! Starting this week, whenever I drink 1/2 of 1, I get HORRIBLE Gas pains... like in the floor holding my breath. Gas X helps the pain, for a while, but now the pains come back. This time they were in my new stomach. I could rub under my breast bone and move the air around. I used to drink them from a straw... I know... horrible me (missed that part), but now I've been drinking them slowly from a cup. Anyone else had this issue or any suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to read this!

  2. @@LovetoDive and all Hi I am five weeks out still on pureed diet until tomorrow, then mushy to soft foods. I go back to work today and I am terrified that I will stress out at my desk, which makes me eat. I do have a plan and I know I will stick with it. I was also at my moms during my recovery where everything was easy for me to prepare my food. I have brought the tools I need. I live with my aunt and she makes the kitchen non approachable, working on that. Overall I feel great, went to the gym yesterday worked out for an hour, hard to go everyday due to transportation but that will get better. I have lost in all from pre-op until know is 32 lbs. Good luck

How was work? So impressed with the plan, though... that's always been so hard for me. I did the same thing for part of my recovery. I went home with the kids. It was wonderful. For me, I just don't want to eat until I HAVE to eat. My poor boys even ask now, "Hey mom, you're a bit snippy. Eaten yet?" OOPS! I still haven't gone to the gym, just trying to swim as often as possible. I know it's time though, and I used to enjoy it. I'm so worried about running out of steam, though. I get really light headed REALLY easily these days. Anyone else?

Congrats on 32 lbs, @@BLAKQUEEN! Please keep in touch!

@@BLAKQUEEN @@camper-girl @@wendyt Hello fellow June 2nd ers! How are you all?

I'm doing great! I have my 6 week appointment this Thursday, and then I'll be able to eat some meat!!

Weight loss is slow right now, more stalls than anything else :( But I just have to keep plugging away at it.

Including the 2 weeks pre-op diet, I am down 27 pounds.

Wendy, that is fantastic! HOW WAS YOUR APPT? meat makes a big difference! You know, our diets are all so very different?!? I could have chicken at week 4. It was awful! In one week 3 days I can have hamburger meat and I'm told that is the easiest to get down. Even tried ground chicken and it just didn't work. 27 lbs is amazing Wendyt! Congratulations! Keep in touch!!!

  3. I used the Premier Protein brand which I purchased at costco. Each shake has 160 calories and 30 grams of Protein. They are tolerable and come in a few different flavors.

I also use Premier Protein and they now sell it at SAMS. 2/day and you've met your goal. I had to add milk in the beginning, but now I can drink it no problem.

Good Luck tomorrow, mamie60! Sending Prayers!

  4. Hello all June sleeves

My name is Erica and had lap sleeve on 6/10/14. I'm doing ok but I am struggling with eating. I'm irony taking in a few bites and feel so awful with spasms after. How long does this last ? I'm i progressing to quickly ? I just want to feel semi normal again. I am very happy with my weight loss so far (down 20lbs). Any hel would be greatly appreciated !

Hi Erica! I was sleeved 6/2 and I can still only take 3 - 4 bites. What's so hard for me is every one on this site has a different progression of food. What has been wonderful for me is Greek yogurt & Tilapia. Pasta goes down well if I only have 3 bites. Also, a suggestion from a 2 yr vet of the sleeve said to set an alarm. 7 - Breakfast, 10 - shake, 12:30 - lunch, 3 - shake, and 6:30 dinner. I still don't hit all of that every day, but it has helped with "normalcy". OH - AND CONGRATULATIONS ON 20 LBS!!! That's fantastic!

  5. June 2nd - Going to my 1st post op appt today... NERVOUS. I see how much today. I fell like I lost more from the 4 days of Pops and Jello then surgery. I may never eat a pop or Jello again. BLAH!

Aygad - that is fantastic... I can't get that many calories! It REALLY messed up my progress for a while... and, TMI my colon! I'm trying to get in 2 shakes. myfitnesspal.com has given me so much info.

  6. Hello all! I guess it's time to join the group :D. I am being sleeved June 2nd. I am excited and absolutely scared to death! So glad to have a group feeling as I do. I love all of the "lists" and information on this site! Sweet Baby, I've been using Premier Protein shakes. They are pricey but very good. If you happen to be a costco member, they are on sale now. They're great for after surgery as well... 30g of Protein. Hope this helps!
