  1. I originally had gastric sleeve 5/20/14, HW 250. I had to do a conversion to RNY 11/1/17. My last weigh in was 196lbs. At one month post op I was down to 176lbs, mostly due to the liquid diet. I haven't budged from that number in two weeks and it was there for a week before the weigh in. I'm just wondering if it's a stall or if it's just smaller amounts coming off slower because it's my second go round? Any ideas?

  2. I am on 7 days CLEAR liquid diet, no Protein Shakes just Isopure, SF Jello, broths, Decaf coffee and Crystal light with Protein Powder. Yesterday on Day 2 I had two shrimp. I couldn't stop myself. I am going in for a conversion to bypass from sleeve. This is my second round. This diet was hard the first time but this time I am lacking willpower because it's not for weight loss but to fix acid reflux and hernia issues. I have kept off 60 pounds from gastric sleeve. This time is different and I need will power but I can't find it. Any suggestions for Clear liquid diet other than my usuals up top?

  3. I had gastric sleeve surgery 5/20/14, weighed in at 250 and was very successful. I lost 75 pounds, felt great, stuck to most of the rules and had a new start on life at 44 years old. Now, 3 years later, my acid reflux is back in full swing with regurgitation waking me up from sleep. I got to my bariatric surgeon who does an Endoscopy and finds a hiatal hernia. After all the success I thought I enjoyed, I am scheduled for a hernia repair and revision to bypass. It's been a whirlwind. The surgeon said regurgitation is dangerous and I have it often enough that it's a serious concern. I am a bit miserable from the reflux. I was advised that with my severe GERD before surgery I should never have been allowed the sleeve. I am scheduled for bypass and repair on Nov. 1. I am nervous. I never wanted the bypass because I hear of so many complications with ulcers and deficiencies. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of this conversion or are you more than 8 years post op bypass and can offer any words of wisdom?

  4. I very recently started thinking I may have made a mistake by choosing the sleeve instead of bypass. I'm on here looking for other stories of people who thought the same thing and learn there is actually a revision where I can go the bypass route. Mine is not an insurance issue but if you know where I can get more infor about revision I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  5. I was sleeved May 20. Had a lot of swelling and combined with the fluids I went from 238 the morning of surgery to 250 when I left the hospital. Today makes 2 weeks and yesterday and today I weighed in at 228. I weigh myself before I get in the shower each morning and by the end of the day I am usually up to 230 with Water weight. Still not getting my complete 64 oz Fluid and 70gm Protein every day. Having a hard time.

    1. I'm at Fort Bragg, NC, getting sleeved this Tuesday May 20. Feeling ready but I'm sure when I get there I will be nervous. I don't have anybody to go to the hospital with me for surgery. Will have a friend drop me off. Hoping to keep my nerves in check.

    1. I also have asthma. Had my gallbladder removed 2 months ago and my lungs were very tight. What the anesthesiologist determined was best for me at that time was to do ALL IV sedation. I was still tubed but they said it was just oxygen which is good for asthma and the IV sedation would keep gases out of my lungs. They also told me when you are tubed for surgery it's like a mega breathing treatment and that the only problem might be your lungs tightening up when they are adjusting after they remove the tube. However, ask about the IV sedation idea. Really talk to your anesthesiologist about your concerns.
