  1. Gummy vitamins are what were recommended by my surgeon. I have the vitafusion women's complete multivitamin. Taste isn't bad and serving size is 2 gummies.

    Visit with psychologist.

Everyone responds differently to food/temptations. I almost feel as if your psych was generalizing. I do understand about not having a reason to eat other then you are hungry. I'm like that myself. In fact, if my emotions are messed up, I.e. Upset, angry, depressed I tend to not eat. I'm glad things turned out okay. It could also be that the psych was not the right fit for you. good luck and smooth sailing wishes for the rest of your wls journey.

    Question on timeline

It took me 4 months *from consultation to surgery* I had my Consult end of January and surgery is tomorrow. It depends though on what your insurance requires. I only had to do 2 months with the NUT and 2 months medically supervised diet. I could have had Surgery end of April but couldn't take the time off work until May.

    Why,Why,Why!

if it helps any, my surgeon doesn't require me to do any special diet before hand so you should be okay. Also congrats!! It's going to be here sooner then you know.
  7. Not sure but at least you get iv fluids!! I have almost the same orders although not 24 hours. my surgery is tomorrow at 2:30 pm, the last time I get food or Water is before midnight tonight. No sips or anything else. My plan is to stay up as late as I can tonight and sleep as late as I can (although no later then 11:30 as check in is at 12:30.) to avoid the temptation to drink. I think the difference is different surgeons' beliefs about nutrition/surgery needs. For example: I've heard a lot about a pre-op liquid diet but my surgeon doesn't require it before hand.
  8. Yay! just think tomorrow will be here in no time!

  14. I'm may 21st but I'm looking forward to 1) losing 11 lbs. it doesn't sound like much but for the past five years I've lost no more then 10 lbs at each time I've tried to lose weight. This will be verification that this was the right move for me 2) buying a new swim suit in a smaller size. 3) being able to move back from the steering wheel. (I am short so I need to sit close to reach the petals)

    May 21 surgery

Dr Welle is amazing, he did all but my final pre-op appointment and Egd. Unfortunately had a family emergency and I couldn't take time off to postpone (my request for time off was already in and mostly covered) so they transferred me, luckily just a day later. Good luck on approval and that July date

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

To the ones that say surgery is a quick, easy fix. It's not, it's a permeant lifestyle change, one that took careful thought before the decision to have the surgery and will require a lifetime's worth of "dieting". As for easy: please, dieting is easy. You get to just limit your food and increase your exercise and can stop anytime you want and have a feast of all your favorite foods anytime you want. With this wls, *I* am never going to be able to eat what I was before, in fact, most of my favorite foods I am rarely going to get to enjoy or have to give up completely. To those that say you can do it on your own. Maybe it's possible to do on it's own but I know myself well enough to know that *I* can't do this without the right tools for success. *I* need the tool of wls if I am every going to be healthy. To those that just want to be negative, *I* have doubts myself somedays and don't need you to add any more. What *I* do need is support, knowing that *I* am doing all I can to be healthy both physically and mentally. *I* need a cheerleader to encourage me to do my best. In the words of thumper (from Bambi) "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.". To those that made this decision to have wls. Way to go! You can do it. This is about you and making you a healthy person. It's not going to be easy, and there will be time of longing for the past but in the end it will be worth it. Keep your head up and carry on. ******* ****** ****** I did tell a few people myself that I was having the wls. Only heard a few negative comments but dismisses them as ignorant caring on their part. I know that this is going to be one of the best decisions of my life and it's less then a week away!

    Physician Letter?..Input Please.

I ran into that issue. I didn't have insurance for the longest time so I didn't go to the dr unless I was really sick. Basically all they want is a record of your height and weight. 1 had 3 visits. 1 in 2010 from the gyn, 1 in 2013 also from the gyn, and one from 2014 from the consolation. For me, they decided to go ahead and submit for insurance approval as my bmi is 50 and has been since 2010. Insurance approved my surgery within a week. As long as they have your height and weight on the paper, it doesn't matter why you saw the dr.

    I wanted a little motivation

Great idea, I found an old pair of jeans that I have hanging on my wall. I haven't worn them since highschool. Looking forward to the day they fit again.
