    Isopure trick

I should try that I bought the ready made stuff and hate the taste, diluting it might help.
  2. I went through that, for me it was a combination of a swelled stomach (given a steroid to reduce swelling) and my pain med making me sick.
  3. I'll have to fine those, I need to get more protein in but literally nothing sounds good.
  4. That's my ring tone and pretty much one of my theme songs for this year (along with "Let it go" from frozen). I'm letting go of the old me and the new me is ROARing

    Silly question...

Not a silly question and honestly I have no idea.

    This is really hard.

Don't be so hard on yourself. 8 oz in 90 minutes is awesome. It takes me around 2 1/2 hours to get 8 oz in and I'm 3 weeks out. you may not hit your goals right away but that's okay as you are recovering from a major surgery. Give it time, and try to increase a little more each day.
  9. Honestly it depends on each individual person, and this surgery may not be for you. I'm still a "newbie" to this procedure only 3 weeks out but I can tell you this. For me, this is the only way I've been able to lose more then 10 lbs due to a very sluggish, practically dead metabolism. It's not some quick weight loss scheme, It is very much a lifestyle change and really only a tool to help you make the change to a healthier lifestyle. Do I still want bad food? Yes, however it's changed. My body no longer tolerates sweet stuff and I get full very fast but for me, this was one of the best decisions of my life.

    4th of July Challenge

Sw: 225. CW: 217 - down 3 lbs, (and it's my third week no stall!) GW: 205 - may not happen but I'm going to try,
  13. There is only one point I can agree with your ex friend about. If she truly overcame an eating disorder (and I'm so sure she didn't just replace one with another) your choice may in fact be a trigger to her. That being said, You don't need that negativity in your life. This choice has nothing to do with her and everything to do with you. YOU made the choice that was best for you, so don't let others get you down. Find Positive friends that accept you for you and not because of what you weigh. Feel free to add me as a friend.

    2nd day of solids....

It is for me, I can do about 2-3 oz if it's more liquified (like yogurt). I put 2 1/2 ounces of chicken in a bowl for dinner. I ate about half before getting full (will eat the rest in about an hr and 1/2)
  15. I went shopping today, had to buy pjs in a smaller size. Mine were falling off of me.

Wonderful. You are closing in on a month out and how are you feeling? Have you weighed yourself, or are you waiting until you to for a checkup? I can't wait until my pj's are falling off. Keep up the great work.

Sorry I took so long to respond. We just sold our house and I have been so busy getting everything done. We close on Aug 4th so I probably won't be at the support group. We are hoping to move to Vegas and come back each time I have a checkup appt. It is going to be interesting having surgery July 9 and trying to pack up. I told my husband that he can stack stuff on the kitchen table and I can sit in one chair and put a box on another and pack stuff that way.

I've weighed myself (partly at the PCP) and partly at home. It helped that my pj's were loose to begin with. It's okay I know how busy moving can be. Vegas is a wonderful place, I visited last year on my birthday. Sorry that I probably won't get to meet you but who knows maybe one day :) That's the way to pack.

      Hi

Sorry I took so long to answer back. We were in Reno seeing our grandson graduate High School, then to Las Vegas buying our new house. We just got home this afternoon. I am really going to try to make that first meeting in August. We won't be moving to Las Vegas until the end of September or October. Depends on when the house is finished. Hope you are doing good. You must be about a month out from surgery. I have 16 days left. Tomorrow I go do my EKG, and I see the NUT on 6/30. This Friday I have a colonoscopy and they are doing an EGD at the same time. I am having the EGD to see if I have Celiac disease. Since I am having it Friday, Dr. Welle said I don't have to have another. They are going to fax the EGD to him. I see Dr. Welle on 6/7, then surgery 6/8. I can't wait. Even though they don't do a special diet before I plan on doing liquids for at least the week before. Have a good week. Lisa

    Protein

I was allowed canned chicken or tuna (but don't eat tuna), Scrambled eggs, tofu, re fried Beans (don't eat either) in the puree stage. Greek yogurt also helps. Currently I'm eating the yoplait greek 100 calories yogurt in apple pie flavor, it has 12 grams of protien. It does have 12 carbs as well but some carbs are needed (and I only eat one container a day), try adding any of these to your diet and they should help boost your Protein.
  19. I'm a medium loser - not fast but not slow either (at the moment) I haven't updated my ticker yet as I do that on Thursday, but I've lost 2 lbs this week so far. Week three is going okay but my pcp says there may be an infection in my incisions probably due to the bendryl as it has antihistamines in it and I'm sensitive to antihistamines but I have antibiotics for the next week.

    ITCHY

Yes, almost three week out and itchy, very itchy. I'm going to try calamine lotion (works for the itchy of poision ivy) and aloe Vera gel ( itchy from sunburns) to see if it helps as I'm sensitive to Bendryl.

    Why the recliner ?

I slept in my bed once I got home, found it easier then my recliner. I did however prop my head up.

How much time off work, desk job

it really depends on the job, I don't have a desk job but my job involves a lot of sitting around doing nothing. I had 2 weeks off and was cleared to go back and wish I would have taken another week off to recuperate more.
  23. Since water intake matters, add some more water to what you are drinking now, It helps with the full feeling. I have 2 more days until puree ends for me. err 1 and some hours as I work nights and can start at midnight on the 11th.
  24. @@Nicholej I'm only 19 days post op but i've found that I do better getting Protein in when I can get it from the food and not the shake. I can only eat so much but when I finish my evening snack I'll be at 45 grams protein from food alone. (mostly soft chicken in a food processor so it's really tiny and fine to eat).
  25. @@ChavaBling yes, that works wonders, I also have the benadryl cream which helps.
