    And So Our Journey Begins...

Ann, My protein right now is about 60g per day. I just started journaling in MyFitnessPal yesterday. I was giving myself a break to get use to it all. I walk, but I don't track it. I don't track my water either. I just know I have two 32 oz containers and I need to drink them everyday. I feel way better about water now than I did a week ago, that is for sure! Thanks for reading loyally!

    Does anyone regret it?

I'm 18 days out, and I really miss real food, it was how I spent time with other people. Other than that i'm fine and I healed perfectly with no issues, I haven't lost much weight but I am not regretting it because I know my drop will happen.

    Drain or no drain?

Nope, no drain. Outpatient as well.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Well, back down to 260.6. Nothing exciting happened. Eating solid foods, having no issues, and still drinking at least 1 protein shake a day. I also just started vitamins, gummies. I take a multivitamin (gummy), probiotic (gummy), krill oil, biotin, and another probiotic capsule that I empty into my protein shake. No issues with them either. I think I have had the most textbook recovery of anyone in the entire planet. It's the weight loss that is pretty rough. Oh well. Patience is a virtue.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

UGH! The scale moved again in the wrong direction, I'm 261.8. This is sucky. I went to a party last night and there were 2 gorgeous cakes and a cheese dip with chips that I normally love. I didn't eat any of it so that is cool. I took a Protein bar and ate that to get my extra protein. One of these days I will look at the scale and be excited. Boo. For those keeping track that is no downward change for 5 days.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

The scale moved!! But in the wrong direction, . I'm up to 260.6, wah wah. Last night I for dinner I had 1 oz of tuna with a little mayo and sweet relish and 2 bacon ritz crackers and some unsweetened applesauce for dessert. The whole meal took me about 2 hours to eat. Took my measurements as well and there has been no inches lost. Booo for todays post. A big drop is coming right?

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Ok kids, it is officially day 15, I am halfway through my blogging journey and I am still 15 pounds down, no change yet but I know a big drop is coming, I can feel it! if I average it out to 1 lb per day, that is absolutely fantastic considering I would fight for 1 lb per week before. Yesterday and the day before I noticed both mornings I started my day off with a serious case of bubbly tummy. I could feel things moving I was burping a few times and etc. I think these things were happening before I was just asleep during it. Today I took a gas pill because it wasn't a pleasent feeling and so far so good. Things are shifting still but no burping yet. I think I'm just feeling my tiny tummy digest and it's weird. On a new note I had my first solid food dinner last night. It was a couple ounces of chicken breast, with some cheddar cheese and avocado. I honestly thought it was a lot of food, I paced myself and took about 45 minutes to eat it, and I was still feeling a hunger pang randomly (yes unfortunately my hunger feeling didn't go away completely). So I sat there for another 30 minutes waiting and then had some unsweetened applesauce, about an ounce or two and then a sip of a naked probiotic smoothie and finally I felt satisfied, almost a small restriction which I was looking for to test my limit and now I am curious. I feel like I ate a lot, I mean it was a drop in the ocean compared to what I normally would have eaten but still...Is this normal for anyone? Maybe I just healed super well and am getting to skip all the swelling and can eat up to 8oz...I don't know. It was weird...Can anyone make me feel less worried here!? Also thanks for reading for so long.

2 days POST surgery..... Pain @ stomach

That is roughly what it was like for me, it shouldn't last more than a few more days as the incisions heal. It isn't a pleasant feeling but should be temporary.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

No drop in weight. I had my 2 week post-op yesterday and my surg actually cleared me straight to eating solid food! I was shocked. I'm going to keep up my Protein shakes and I will plan to introduce solid foods everyday into my diet. Protein shake for Breakfast and something meaty for dinner. I tend to skip the middle meal. I think I will try some chicken breast tonight. They seemed really pleased with my progress, the surg even commented that I don't even seem like I had surgery at all. I'm a very upbeat person around people and I think that helped. So yay! :)Real food. I was also given pictures from my surgery showing the before and after of my stomach, it is sooooooo much smaller it was unreal, and I had a tiny hernia that was fixed as well.
  11. MistyAnnMoon829

Please tell me that gets better

I had surgery on 7/24 and even though I am on liquids, I did dabble in solids twice and I ate tuna, and pork and had no problems as well as turkey pepperoni. You may just be a slower healer. I'm sticking with my liquids and taking it slow just in case.
  12. MistyAnnMoon829

    Being alone post-op

I recently moved back in with my mom and all I had her do with my surgery was drive me home from the hospital, I did everything else by myself. Made my own shakes, if I wanted to drive anywhere I did it. I only needed 1 painkiller the entire time and that was the first day, after that I was fine. I may as well have been alone for as much help as I utilized. She even took the time off just in case, and it was unnecessary for sure.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Back at work today!! In the last 2 weeks that I had off I completely messed up my sleep schedule. I use to be asleep around 10 pm, but during my time off I starting staying up super late and sleeping in super late, so that mixed with back to work anxiety I didn't fall asleep until after midnight. I am a sleepy lady. And on top of that my alarm didn't go off. I just happened to wake up in time. Weighed in and no loss, no shock there, I seem to have a pattern of no loss for 2-3 days and then the scale dips down, and I know that 3 week stall is coming up here as well. I may not weigh myself for a full week, Ah who am I kidding of course I'm going to weigh in! I haven't "eaten" my Breakfast yet since I don't like to eat this early, I'll probably have my Protein in the next 3 hours. Though my tummy is feeling a little off today. I can't quite place it...I have my 2 week post op right after work. My co-workers decorated my desk for me, which was super sweet! Back to the grind, hope everyone is having a great day!
  15. I hit 260 lbs today, I haven't been that low in years. I'm so happy. I can actually see some of the weight off my body especially in my legs, boobs, and a small bit in the tummy area.

Congrats! 260 will be a red letter for me... I was at 250 in my twenties, and when I can get back there I will consider the surgery as being a total success.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

I am at 12 days out right now, I am still primarily on Protein shakes. I just started experimenting with solids as well. I have healed amazingly well. I haven't had any issues with my sleeve at all. I can definitely tell when I am full. Today I ate some refried Beans with cheese, and it didn't leave me feeling satisfied, so I had a couple spoons of unsweetened applesauce. I can also tell when I drink my protein too fast which tends to happen during the last few swallows, I get impatient because I just want to be done drinking it. The liquid part does help with the healing, since it would probably not be good to have solids in your tummy when freshly stapled. Even my incisions look really good.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

@Diana2014: I'm doing really well. I can see two dents forming on either side of my stomach where the fat is slowly disappearing from, and unfortunately it is slowly eating my muscles as well, As soon as I can gym those babies are coming back though! And it's eating my boob. Wah Wah. Definitely getting plastics in a year!! Thanks for sticking by me for so long!! @VSGAnn2014: Hah, thanks for responding!! Sometimes I wonder if people are reading or if i'm blogging for myself. You're the best!

    And So Our Journey Begins...

I had a decent drop in weight, I'm down to 260 even. Only had my two Protein shakes yesterday nothing else. Definitely conquering Water, it is super easy to drink now. My tummy is healing very well and I am very happy about that. I go back to work tomorrow. I'm of two minds, I want to be back and have things to do, but at the same time I don't look forward to my boring job. Boooo.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

The scale moved down .4 lbs. So I am now 261.4. I feel like I am losing so slowly. I know we aren't supposed to compare to others, but my ex in laws just had the surgery, my ex mom in law the day before me and ex dadIL the monday after and both are down at least 20 LBs. maybe I didn't have as much Water weight to lose as them, but still. Also I still get the hungry feeling that I was hoping to escape from for at least a year. It's not as intense, which is great. I ate a tiny portion of Cafe rio pork. It didn't taste as amazing as it use to, my body handled it just fine though. I have essentially skipped mushies and purees, though I have yet to have an actual meal. I'm mostly taking in Protein with a small amount of food throughout the day (roughly 1 oz). My wounds are healing nicely, I'm going to be putting on these strips for scars to see if I can minimize them as much as possible.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

No drop in the scale, again. But on the fun side I experimented with solids and it went well. I ate cottage cheese with 3 slices of turkey pepperoni and there where no issues. Then for a very delightful late dinner I ate about 1 ounce of tuna, hickory smoke flavor, and it also gave me no problems. I was having issues with my Protein so i'm pretty sure I didn't get enough. I used to read these forums and when people said drinking enough protein everyday was a problem I didn't get it, but now I do. Protein, when not in food form, is not amazing. So i am trying something new today. I'm having my protein in a blended with ice way that will hopefully make it easier, or at least keep it colder longer.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Yesterday was a super good day. I had vanilla premier Protein and it was disgusting, I didn't finish it. So weird that I like the chocolate one a lot, but not the vanilla one in the slightest. I weighed in again and Another day of the same weight. Looks like I will be dropping in small bursts. Rather than a steady crawl. I drove a long ways to hang out with a couple of friends, and it was awesome, I wasn't super tired.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

I felt really yucky yesterday from not eating enough. I went to the store and did some grocery shopping and I was super weak and shaky when I got home, but I tried broth for the first time and it was amazing and I was in love with the change of flavor. A couple hours later I actually had more broth with two bacon ritz crackers, it was amazing. I felt satisfied and slightly full. It was a very good feeling. Weighed in today and the scale moved down to 261.8, so woohoo! Took my 1 week measurements and I've lost about a half inch to an inch in some places, so that is pretty cool.
  23. MistyAnnMoon829

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Yesterday was more of the same, I was having some serious issues drinking my second Protein and my chest felt incredibly weird as well. I am desperately missing real food. I'm going to try cottage cheese again later. Another day of no weight-loss, still 263.2, that says to me there is a big drop coming any day now. Didn't try broth yesterday, but I will be trying it today for sure.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Spent the entire day yesterday laying around, it was glorious. Didn't get all my Protein in because I tried a new flavor of protein and hated it, so I drank about half. I also ate a few tiny spoons of cottage cheese and some Jello (at different times during the day). Had some chest pains early in the day pretty sure I ate too much jello. I weighed in today same as yesterday, no loss: 263.2. Not worried about it. Heading to the store later, so I will be trying broth/soup. Any one recommend any delicious brands that go down easy?

    And So Our Journey Begins...

@@MisPetunia That's amazing!! I am now 263.2 lbs now. I was out of the house for many many hours, I went to a therapy appt, and then to the hospital to visit my ex-father in law since he had the surgery too and I was gone for about 7 hours and I was EXHAUSTED when I got home so I watched some TV and knocked out! I was able to practically double my Water in take and Protein came easier too! Yay for a good health day!
