Weight loss drives a whole new sex drive

I can't give an accurate reaction to this, cuz I just started seeing someone new and that right there is the whole new relationship sex, vs renewed sex lol. But I do find that I enjoy it more and that I sweat less that is for sure!

    Will I be hungry?

I'm two months out and I will say yes, I do feel hunger, however it is pretty easy to ignore. For example, on Tuesday I ate my greek yogurt for breakfast from 10 to 11:30, and then I didn't eat again until almost 6. I was hungry but I had a Gyno appt, then a dentist appt and while I wanted food it wasn't the same as I normally would have felt having my entire stomach. I don't feel the need to snack, and I don't really have any cravings, not even during TOM. My restriction works incredibly well. I don't over eat no matter what I eat. I can even get full from water. I'm almost 40 pounds down.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Hey all, I haven't popped in here for almost 10 days. Not a whole lot going on. I have dropped down to 237.2 and I am in a size 16 jean (slightly snug) and a 2X top, from a size 18 (snug) and a 3x top. I'm still very energetic and my confidence grows all the time. I'm almost 40 lbs down at the 2 month (today) mark. I'm so very happy with these results. Still haven't gotten my gym membership yet, but I just dropped a class in college (down to 2 from 3 and I work full time) that was stressing me out, so I should have time now. I'm still sort of seeing that same guy mentioned earlier, and he thinks I'm beautiful and amazing and that helps with the ego big time! I am really happy that this sleeve is working so amazing for me and I definitely do not regret it! Food is not a problem, Sleevie lets me know when I've over done it or if i'm getting close, but mostly it is from eating too fast, I hate that it takes forever for me to eat, but better that then what I was doing before. The man friend took me to sushi and that was definitely too much too fast for me. I had two small pieces and one larger piece and a quarter of strawberry mochi and I was stuffed. The feeling went away after 30 to 45 minutes but lesson learned, sushi in SMALL amounts. Though compared to what I ate before that was nothing. So faithful readers...life is good. Hope it is with you all too!

    missed opportunity..dang it!

I totally agree, if you were pinging, you should hunt him down and ask him for a coffee or something.

    I am mad at myself..

I think you handled that situation waaaaaaaaaay better than most of us would have. I probably would have let it bug me forever. I'm the type of person that even if we don't have sex I need to feel wanted, even for an intense round of cuddling. Definitely don't put all your eggs in one basket, you're gorgeous and you've worked hard, you deserve to feel wanted.

Sex.......and that annoying roll of flesh

I actually went through this exact situation in the last 10 days, and I was upfront about it all, my surgery, my yucky tummy, and the not so awesome out of the bra boobs. The first few times we had sex I was pretty covered up, but he finally got me fully naked the other night and he was really supportive and sweet about it. I'm glad that this situation turned out positively for both of us.

You know you lost weight when

You realize you have collar bones for the first time in your life. Felt them in the shower the other day and now I randomly reach up to touch them to make sure they're still there.
  10. MistyAnnMoon829

    Shoe size!?

I researched to see if this has been asked at all recently I didn't find anything so...how has your show size changed since you've lost weight? Did anything stay the same, go down, or for example go from a size 10w to a regular 10? I have a couple pairs of drop dead gorgeous heels and I was wondering if they would still fit me after I've lost weight. Thanks for your input!

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Hi Maria! You ask a lot of great questions. I do not know how you know if you are leaking, I imagine there would be a great deal of discomfort inside your body. I know that most if not all surgeons do a leak test before/after they seal you up but things do happen. I recommend that if anything does not feel right at all you contact your surgeon. Better safe than in the ER. You asked what happens to the staples and it is my understanding that they just become a part of your body, your incision heals around them. I've had zero issues with them. From what I understand this is going to be a tough transition for both of you, I was with my ex-wife as I began the journey and we split up right before my first appt, she was very supportive however, but for the most part I have been single throughout this and my support system has been my friends/family, and now this lovely gent that I am seeing is also supportive. We tend to forget our significant others in all the excitement of the changes we are going through. It might be beneficial to take him with you to an appt and have him hear first hand how imortant this is to you and how important exersize is and you need to take some time to make sure you let him know that you still love him and etc. If he doesn't want to exersize I would suggest making a friend who will want to. Maybe meet someone who is going through this journey at your surgs office? I met a nice lady at my pre-op appt who offered to exersize with me whenever I'm ready. I haven't taken her up on it yet. I haven't done really any exersize, I'm being very lazy about it, i'm not going to list my excuses, but by the end of this month I will have a gym membership and my BFF wants to work out with me. I've just been enjoying my changing body, but it is definitely time to get my butt moving more often. This last weekend proved how important exersize is to weight loss. I will keep updating periodically, I'm not letting this thread die anytime soon! If anyone ever has any specific questions I will happily answer any of them. I am an open book.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

So this lucky duck just went to Disneyland/California Adventure/Ikea from 9/11-9/13 and I walked my little butt off!! It was hot and sunny and humid and magical! I fit comfortably on every ride and in some cases with room to spare. It was really easy to find things to eat, I took a couple quest bars in case of emergency, and only ate 1. I left weighing 246.8 and came back weighing in this morning at 241.6. I think my body really needed the movement to break the slow loss pattern I had put myself in. I shared food when possible or ate small when I wanted, there was no typical snacking, and I was crushing it on the hydration front. The trip was awesome and I can't wait to go again!! In my personal life. I started seeing this guy, I reconnected with on OKCupid.com (I got an email from them that I am ranked one of their most attractive people in my area - NSV), that I knew from HS and I was really nervous to tell him about my surgery, I was pulling a classic Misty and overthinking it. We had our first (and second) meal together yesterday so I knew I had to tell him. He was really supportive and sweet about it. Not one drop of judgement to be found, and I was really relieved. I wasn't aware how stressed about it I was. He is also very much infatuated with my slowly changing body, even though I have a long ways to go he can't stop touching me, evidenced by spending about 9 hours in bed watching movies all day and cuddling. This surgery has given me so much more confidence than I have ever had about my body and in myself and it has been worth every moment of discomfort (of which there have been few). Oh! Random NSV, when I was showering this morning I was washing the soap off my shoulder and boom! I can feel my collarbone. Can't see it very much but I can feel it solidly right there. It was such a shocker, since I have NEVER in my left actually just felt it without searching for it. I'm a very happy lady these days! Thanks for reading!

    And So Our Journey Begins...

I am doing incredibly well. I am about 48 days out, almost 7 weeks. I have lost a total of 29# so far. My body looks better, I am entirely too confident for a woman of my size, lol. The only issues I have are that it takes entirely too long to eat, and if I eat too fast, which I did 1 time I have a really strong feeling of discomfort in my tummy, I had to lay down to allow the time to pass. I'm really glad my surgery was out patient because all I wanted after my surgery was to go back to sleep, or to go home to my bed. Protein is going to be a struggle for the first weeks or so while you're healing but I can confidently say that it does get better, and it was 100% worth it.
  15. From my point of view, you will have low energy for a little while, but if you are getting enough Protein there should be no issues after the first couple weeks. Take your time off, rest and heal. You will feel fine. I actually feel like I have had an increase in energy as time goes on. I can't speak to the depression thing as I was going through a divorce right at the same time, so I think it was a combination thing. I would see what others say. I have had no issues eating anything, I was operated on 7/24 and I have been able to eat anything that I tried as long as I ate slow. If you want to ask me any questions at any time i'm open to it. Good luck with your decision. I don't regret mine at all, even though I did for about 48 hours after surgery, lol.

    Weight and Relationships

I am in a similar boat, recently divorced, just starting to put myself out there. I decided to wait until I was more confident and comfortable. Today at only 26 lbs down I feel a lot more confident in my looks and in my body, and unfortunately that is what people see first. I think being more confident has made me feel more beautiful and has improved my interactions with other people. So I suggest you wait until you have that moment of confidence. Regardless of what you weigh that is what will attract people to you. I'm going to actively start dating because I finally feel pretty good about myself and I feel that I can bring a lot to the table. I'm also going to play the field and date, take the time to see who actually suits me versus jumping into a relationship and finding myself stuck. Good luck!!! You're going to be happy and in love again one day.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

I hit 249 this morning! I haven't been this weight since I was 20, maybe 21. My body looks very different from what it was back them (not as nice), but I am still please with the progress. Only 50 lbs to Onderland, a place I haven't been since Junior high. When I started this I had so far to go it seemed impossible, now I just looking forward to the passing of time. Also turns out it wasn't post alcohol dehydration after my birthday, it was sign #1 that I was getting a cold! And end of summer hurrah for my body apparently. I'm hydrating like crazy. Drinking OJ for Vitamin C, and green tea with antioxidants, and trying to sleep a lot. I tried to eat my dinner last night of 6 to 8 ounces of chili no beans and I could only eat half. I think it's cuz I only had 30 minutes to eat before I had to leave (otherwise I could have eaten the whole thing, I know because I did the night before). But Hormel chili no beans is AMAZING with a little cheddar cheese. Try it out if you haven't yet!
  19. Hit 249 today. I was maybe 20 the last time I weighed that. I'm am so happy with my progress. It has been slow but steady.

    And So Our Journey Begins...

My birthday was on Friday, and it was pretty emotional for me, since it was the first one since my divorce this year but I didn't make bad food decisions I also am 1 lb shy of my goal of 25 lb down since surgery. I am 24 lb down since July 24. I'm not sure if I fall under the slow loser category or not but I'm pretty okay with my progress, especially since I know it's only a little over a month out. I still have a long way to go! I decided to give myself a break from protein shakes, they make my mouth taste funny and they aren't delicious. I've been concentrating on getting protein in food form, and I've been doing okay. I can definitely do better, I just don't have the room, or the desire to eat! I went out to dinner at Applebees for my birthday last night with my friends, and I had an AMAZING time, it really reminded me that I have great friends and people love me. I had the quesadilla burger and I half the patty with some salsa, it was really good. They brought out my birthday dessert, a scoop of vanilla ice cream with some chocolate sauce and whip cream and I ate two spoonfuls and wanted no more. That was huge for me, as I was a big time sweets addict. When people would say they don't crave sweets after surgery I didn't believe them and now I see that it is true!! We also went to bar and I had half a small drink that didn't hit me at all alcohol wise, though I still feel the post drinking dehydration hitting me this morning. I went on a shopping spree with my mom yesterday with all my happy birthday discounts and I went to Ross and bought three future shirts. I'm looking forward to wearing them in a month! They don't look too bad on me now actually. They are all 2x from Ross and I use to have a problem finding 3x shirts that fit at Ross, so yay NSV!!

    And So Our Journey Begins...

Today will be my second to last post, I will post one more time after my birthday so everyone can see if I achieved my goal of being 25 lbs down by my birthday. I'm really close so here's hoping. The scale did jump up this morning to 253.2, Probably just water weight from this weekend. I had a blast yesterday, Mt. Charleston was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. At one point I just sat on a log and looked out over the trees and it was really peaceful. We didn't hike, we walked this little trail that was paved, we went off sidewalk for a bit to get to that log and then climbed back up, so otherwise it was just really relaxing, though the walk back to the car was exhausting, lol it was all uphill. But I did really well. We ate while up there, my first meal in a restaurant and I got a bowl of no bean chili ate about 4 spoonfuls and it was nice. My bill with tip was $10. I can already see that I will be saving so much money. Overall it was a beautiful day and just what I needed. I'll see you all this weekend (birthday is Friday so I will probably post on Sunday! EDIT: I keep forgetting to mention. I do have difficulty with drinking protein shakes if I add greek yogurt. It becomes too thick and then I have this uncomfortable heaviness in my tummy for up to 45 minutes. And if I'm hungry my body feels weird, until the actual hunger feelings show up. Those have been my only difficulties since surgery.
