  1. We are not all doomed to regain after 4/5 year out. There is no need for revision if you follow your plan. Many of us have kept the weight off and maintain successfully.
  2. 5’3” 127 pounds. Your BMI is 22.5 Normal weight. For someone your height underweight is 104 pounds. BMI 18.4 You may want to research bariatric centers in your area or find a dietician that can help you out. If you don’t feel healthy at this weight, increase your calories and carbs to gain weight. If your restriction is still tight, Find less dense foods…Example peanut butter, sweet potatoes etc.
  3. Find what makes you comfortable. Some can weigh every day and can deal with seeing the weight fluctuations. If the scale is changing your mood/messing with your head, try weighing weekly. Yes, I weigh in the morning every day. It helps me maintain and has become habit over the years. I use a body composition scale (bed bath and beyond)– Weight, BMI, water weight, bone density and body fat percentage. Do I need all these stats, No. *laughing*
  4. If you have medical concerns about the runs and not absorbing your foods, you may want to contact your surgeon’s office. How far out from surgery are you? What food stage? What foods are listed to eat? The choices you make will be a factor in your health and long-term weight loss outcome.
  5. 55 down! you are doing great. There is no way to predict if or when a stall can happen. We are all different. Your best weight loss is the first months when your surgery restriction is tight. Your restriction will become less as you progress. Keep working your plan and the weight will come off. Embrace the stall link below. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351046-embrace-the-stall/
  6. Weight loss is different for each of us. There is no way to predict how much or fast you will lose. I’m post menopause and my weight loss was fast. I see others that have lost at a slower rate. It’s ok to lose slowly. What matters is losing the weight and getting healthy, Right?
  7. Who are these people that are on a no carb diet @summerset?
  8. If you read my entire post.. based on an estimate. Stated in the beging. All we can offer is our experiences and opinions. ALL opinions are valued. Even if we dont sgree. The fact is if you eat over your weight loss calories you gain weight.
  9. Not anti carb. My comcern is 267 carbs in a day.
  10. Fear of weight gain should not get in the way of your surgeons’ instructions. Follow them to stay healthy during this process. All dieticians’ plans are different. Do I understand this correctly? Your plan says to eat 600-800 for your entire weight loss phase? Most plans are 1000 to 1200 in weight loss mode. Try upping your calories if that is what your dietician suggests. I would not stress about maintenance phase until you reach your goal.
  11. Welcome and enjoy your research. Try not to get hung up on how much you will lose and how fast. Age, sex, medical issues, medications body physiology etc. will be factors in how much you lose and how fast. The goal is to eat real whole foods. No one should stay on the first stages. Your diet will be sustainable long term. Your best weight loss is in the first stages because your surgery restriction is tight. Your restriction will become less over time and weight loss slows down. (this is normal)
  12. Why? I’m not sure if you are understanding what we are saying or if it’s something you don’t want to hear right now. Carbs will cause hunger. Soft foods will not fill your MGB. They slide right through. Dense protein and vegetables will help fill your stomach and help with hunger. Our advice is falling on deaf ears. Your nutrition’s plan is high carb and not to log your food. We can see why you can eat as much as you do, we can see the foods that have you hungry and starving.
  13. Its fine that you decided to follow what you have been eating. All nutritionists/surgeons’ plans look different. We are sharing our surgeon's plans and experience. What works for us may not work for you. Take what’s useful and ignore the rest. If your plan is high carb then you are doing phenomenal. Follow it. It’s not the pretzels that is causing all your carb intake, you are consuming an excess carbs found in the other foods you listed. If you are not logging how do you know if you are eating 1200 calories and what your carbohydrate intake is? I can also eat soft foods in the amount you are talking about. The soft foods and carbs will continue to make you hungry. An option to try is dense protein (not soft slider foods) with some fibrous vegetable. This may help with your surgery volume (the ability to eat as much as you are in one sitting) and help satisfy hunger. Hope you see the scale moving down again soon.
  14. I understand you are new to this site. Your success is dependent on you and the choices you make. Eat the way you currently are and gain or log your food and stay within your calories, protein, and carbohydrate ratios to lose the weight. Fruit is organic but has a lot of carbohydrates. You are asking for help and ignoring the amount of carbohydrate and calories you eat. 1802 calories – 74 grams protein – 267 carbohydrates - 51 fats.
  15. Congrats! Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out. You got this.
  16. We get our share of fakes and trolls on this site. My response is more for other readers that are researching or new. Many people come into this thinking they can eat whatever they want in small portions and the weight comes off. Sadly, with the sleeve, I can eat a whole banana and a cup of papaya. Not that I want to…but, I can.
  17. What foods are allowed on your surgeon’s plan? Do you have a print out? I can’t stress enough to log your food. You will never know how many calories and carbs your eating unless you log them. You can’t guess your way through weight loss. Restriction alone will not make you successful in the long term. food log apps - free download. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myfitnesspal.android&hl=en_US https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baritastic.view&hl=en_US Processed carbs are going to make you crave them more and make you hungry. Seriously, I hope you are not eating 267 carbs in the estimate below. My carb range is 55 grams of plant and low glycemic carbs. You didn’t give brands or how many ounces/serving sizes you ate. This is a estimated based on the information you gave. If this is correct you are eating weight gaining calories and macros – You can log your information correctly and get a better look at what you are doing with your diet Logged in Myfitnesspal: 1802 calories - 74 grams protein - 267 carbohydrates - 51 fats 1 cup Black coffee 5 calories .5 cup soy milk 50 calories 1 cup fresh squeezed Orange juice 112 calories Nabisco rice crackers 48 calories 2 table spoons cream cheese 99 calories 1 banana 105 calories oats 1 cup 300 calories meat balls 171 calories .8 cup rice 150 2 oz sweet potatoes 51 calories 1 Banana 105 calories 1 cup papaya 62 calories 2 light n fit Greek yogurt 160 calories 2.5 oz Brie cheese 238 calories 15 small pretzels 145 calories
  18. After goal, it was hard to Let go of the weight loss “bariatric rules” Maintaining has been a different animal. With less surgery restriction, I had to find ways to satisfy the extra sleeve space and stay with in my calories/macros. (easy to gain slow to take off this far out) Life doesn’t stop because of surgery or fear of old habits. We recognize the slips and change the behavior. I absolutely agree it’s not a jail sentence, I’m having the time of my life living and eating healthy. Nutrition is still flavorful. I can’t wait to start barbequing.
  19. Congrats on 4 years out. A fifteen-pound gain is manageable to work back down. Is it realistic for you to lose fifteen pounds by 4/22/19? If you are having mobility issues with your knee, diet will be key to get the weight off. What you should eat? What is your (real food stage) plan they gave you after surgery? Protein, veggies, small amount of fruit, and low carb (carbs plant based and low glycemic) Log your food in MyFitnessPal or baritastic app. Stay within your weight loss calories, Protein 60 to 100 grams and carbs 50 grams. My dieticians website for food ideas (make sure it fits you plan, calories and macros) https://karenmangum.com/recipes/bariatric-friendly-recipes/ https://karenmangum.com/category/bariatric-friendly-main-dishes/ https://karenmangum.com/category/bariatric-friendly-salads/ https://karenmangum.com/category/bariatric-friendly-snacks/ Get temptation out of the house Detox off processed carbs and sugar. They will make you crave them more and cause hunger Eat dense protein and as much veggies as you like until full. Keep health sweet and salty option foods on hand for cravings
  20. I appreciate good service. I’ve been treated rudely in some restaurants. Guess the wait staff didn’t want a decent tip. *snicker* Did you get a bariatric restaurant card from your surgeon? Some restaurants will honor smaller portions if you use the card. I never used mine Red Robin - I order a turkey burger, no bun, steamed veggies instead of fries. To go boxes for left overs are great. I can make one restaurant portion into several meals.
  21. If you can live through this 30 min’s you can do anything! There is magic in the misery. Embrace the suck and reap the reward of November-ish. \
  22. Congrats!!!!! Here is a visual of what 100 pounds looks like.
  23. Some stores provide a bra fitting service
