    Psych evals

Wow small world I watched the same show last night. My psych evaluation went smooth. He just asked yes or no questions and we talked afterwards. He approved me. I do have a therapist I see about every 3 to 4 months. I'm working on my body image. My weight loss is not registering in my head yet. For me I need a person to help me through my old ways of thinking and keep this new me on track and moving forward in my life. Your on your way...you got this! Its normal to be nervous with this process. Wishing you the best, Jenn

  7. I get it. You did the right thing. Stuck it out until you could eat whats on your plan. I just drink tea and enjoy the conversation. I told my inlaws that I had something to eat before we went out..(my excuse for eating light to nothing at all).
  8. My hair was thin before surgery..its now really thin...I have found a quick fix so no one has to see my scalp showing through my thin hair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EswugXl4dSk http://www.toppik.com/?gclid=CJXGipeq8L8CFahaMgodrnAAfw

    Keeping finger crossed!

@@SnowFlake01106 Congratulations on your pre surgery weight loss. Your doing great. I hope all is going well for you in the process of getting a surgery date. Keep up the good work!
  13. So sorry to hear that low blood sugar is a complication with some that have this surgery. I'm a diabetic type one. Before surgery my blood sugar would go low with my diet. I feared I would always have to monitor and stabilize low blood sugar with my sleeve. After surgery my blood sugars are well controlled.
  14. It's here....Onderland! Celebrating my little victory. and learning a lot on my journey. . Funny how some people in your life cannot be happy for your accomplishments. I have learned to cut these people out of my life but secretly I use them as motivation by placing a picture of them on my treadmill. Knowing how much my weight loss has made them uncomfortable makes me want to hit my goal even more....Is this wrong?

Social Life - Need Help from Veterans!

@@Myonlybattle I went out to dinner shortly after I was released to eat solid type foods. It was a few weeks out from surgery. I save us money since I eat so little. Its all still very social. I'm around a lot of drinkers we still have a great time. Everyone looks at my changes like this...I'm on a heath kick and its working...nothing more than that..I'm not the topic of conversation. Mostly they are supportive.

Social Life - Need Help from Veterans!

@@Myonlybattle I will be honest...for me Its a little strange eating with people. By the time they have put in a full plate of food. I am trying to finnish up my small amount. I balance it out by getting into the conversation at the table. no one really notices. They just think I'm a light eater. Sipping water no one has noticed either...Its hot out and they just see it as hydrating myself. It's a great change.

Social Life - Need Help from Veterans!

@@Myonlybattle Hi there, I was sleeved June 2nd. I have just changed my life style. The people around me who don't know I had WLS, Just think I'm dieting and exercising. They see a happier, more social and physical side of me. I don't let things stop me from being out and about. I plan for them and look forward to them. I'm almost 2 months out and I'm up for almost anything. I enjoy the challenge of seeing people treat me different or when they notice my weight loss. Its funny to hear the responses I get.

@@Nicey2u I understand what you mean. I had years of bad habits with food. I changed that into obsessing over entering my food into fitness pal. I now total up everything. What a difference.

    5 mths post op

@@Unhappysleever I use fitness Pal. I enter all my food and have my goal set to 25% fat, 25%, carbohydrates, 50% Protein. My calorie intake 700. I don't weigh or worry to much about calories. Now that I'm getting the hang of the app and my protein intake, I'm dropping weight at a better pace.
