Nausea & Vomiting
You sound exactly like me, however my nausea and vomiting lasted about 7 weeks, totally horrible and the utmost regret. My surgeon had no idea what to do, he changed my meds, did a scope everything looked normal. He said sometimes we get a chemical imbalance in the brain which can cause the nausea - told him i am not mad...... The only thing that fixed it for me was motion sickness tablets. Apparently zofran works on the stomach directly where as motion sickness tablets work on the brain. Best thing i ever did!! When you feel so crummy you willl try anything and in my case it worked Hope you get some relief soon.

Eating Slowly after the sleeve
Hi Jo, Thanks for the reply, can you tell me how many ozs you consume in yr 'bowl' at 10 mths?

Eating Slowly after the sleeve
I have mentioned before how i find it difficult to eat slowly and think i pain i get just above where my stomach starts is because of eating to fast however this really does my head in even at nearly 6 mths out. So my question is when we have the gastric sleeve the only dynamics that change is the size of our stomach not where the food exits the esoephgus into the stomach, so if we measure why do we have to eat slow??? Would appreciate anyones reply but interested to here from vets when and if they can eat at a relatively normal pace and how far out you were.... I would feel so much better to eat my 'normal' pace

Hair Regrowth
I have read lots of topics about hair loss but not much on hair regrowth. I had thin hair but a lot of it but now I would think I have lost about 50% of it. My question is which month did people start seeing good regrowth?? I will be 6 mths post op next week

8 Months Out Any Questions for me?
I find it harder to eat on the weekends than during the week, I guess during the week is easier as I am more in a routine with work. I tend to eat breakfast about an hour after I get up and cause I don't stick to the 'rules' I have cereal most mornings. Certainly don't have time for anything cooked...

MFP goals
What ratios are people setting their goals at (carbs/fat/protein)?
-
MFP goals
I currently don't measure anything but thought coming upto 6 months and loosing some hair, thought I might just try and track my protein. I have never been given a goal each day but would be happy to hear from people on what their goals are on my fitness pal??? I think 60gms of protein is about normally and between 800-1000 calories, once again not really sure

5 mths post op

Eating Pace

Sliming
Can anyone tell me why people slime?? I am told that if we eat fast we can slime, what is the difference between pre op and post op to make this happen? I know our stomachs and food portions are smaller but surely this can't be the reason

Incorporating "real" foods
Fantastic reply 'Who Dat' and you are so correct in saying not to worry about the number on scales. I don't have a particular goal weight in mind I just think I will know when I am there. Currently lost 77 lbs, maybe like to loose another 20-30 lbs but not loosing sleep if I don't Hang in there Gabby I had the worst 3-4 mths post op but now at 5.5 mths things are a lot easier, it really does take time to adjust both physically and mentally..... But if I could do it so can YOU

Pain when eating 5 mths post op
I have noticed for the last couple of days that when i eat i get a pain. The pain is generally between my breastbone, kind of at the top of my stomach ( i think!) 3 nights ago i had the worst indigestion that i had to get out of bed dont know if this has anything to do with it. I sometimes still eat fast, about 30 secs between each bite. Anybody had this kind of pain this many months out???

GERD/Reflux
@mysleeveid23 - i have the lump in my throat about 10 mins after i get out of bed and most days have it all day. I have never suffered with it when i go to bed however a neat trick i was told to do is raise the head of your bed. Sounds weird but i think it works. I have 2 bricks under mine!!! Give it a try you have nothing to lose....

Low energy
I am having one of those days today, i feel really tired and flat and i am 5 mths out, does anyone else further out than me have days like this - i would say by now my healing would be complete...
-
GERD/Reflux
You may find that the protonix may help you. I have had a scope done due to narrowing of my esophagus (from the reflux), it is a painless procedure which only takes about 15 mins, they knock you out so you don't feel anything - slippery elm is from health food shops.

Who is a "good" candidate vs. a "bad" candidate for surgery?
do you have an idea of what you would need to eat post op to get 60-80 grams of Protein per day? @@moonlitestarbrite i am 5 mths post op and still don't know what I need to get to 60-80 grams per day - I haven't been back to the nut since 2nd month, she was never very helpful. Any suggestions would be most appreciated - however don't do protein shakes!!!!

Super stalls around 7th month post op?
Hi, can anyone give me an idea of what and how much you each per day (types of foods and amounts) - i like to know what peoples intakes are like the further they progress - i am at 5 months
-
GERD/Reflux
I am taking gaviscon when I really need it, but I no longer take PPI's they were making my symptons worse. The only additional thing I take is slippery elm, it's a powder which you mix with a little water and apple juice - it's a healthy alternative which helps to coat the throat and esphoegus. I am told this will most likely take between 6-12 mths to correct I have already been 5 mths.....

Snack ideas
I am starting to get tired on my snacks, really only have bananas or dried fruits with nuts sometimes stringy cheese, what are other people snacking on during the day - all ideas would be most helpful.....
