    Nausea & Vomiting

I generally took them of an evening as I was going to bed cause my nausea started no sooner I opened my eyes in the morning. I would try whatever is accessible - just go and speak to the pharmacist. The regret will go as soon as the nausea settles down, i was in tears every day with it but it does get better. I still have days of ill feeling but its easy tolerated - my dr told me that things really don't settle down and get better for 6-12 mths after surgery. Some people are lucky no issues, but for us it will just make us stronger

    Nausea & Vomiting

I know how you all feel but rest assured it does get better. I regretted my decision for weeks and then after taking the motion sickness tablets for a couple of days I got up one morning and felt 80% better. It took me about 4 mths to start feeling better although some days I still wake up feeling blah but it's way better. I am now 6 mths post op and have been nausea free for 2 mths and don't regret my decision half as much. Feel free to contact me anytime, this surely isn't easy but together we can help each other

    Nausea & Vomiting

You sound exactly like me, however my nausea and vomiting lasted about 7 weeks, totally horrible and the utmost regret. My surgeon had no idea what to do, he changed my meds, did a scope everything looked normal. He said sometimes we get a chemical imbalance in the brain which can cause the nausea - told him i am not mad...... The only thing that fixed it for me was motion sickness tablets. Apparently zofran works on the stomach directly where as motion sickness tablets work on the brain. Best thing i ever did!! When you feel so crummy you willl try anything and in my case it worked Hope you get some relief soon.

    Hair Regrowth

I have read lots of topics about hair loss but not much on hair regrowth. I had thin hair but a lot of it but now I would think I have lost about 50% of it. My question is which month did people start seeing good regrowth?? I will be 6 mths post op next week

8 Months Out Any Questions for me?

I find it harder to eat on the weekends than during the week, I guess during the week is easier as I am more in a routine with work. I tend to eat breakfast about an hour after I get up and cause I don't stick to the 'rules' I have cereal most mornings. Certainly don't have time for anything cooked...

    5 mths post op

I will be 5 mths post op on Saturday and just wondering where other people are at, how much they can consume, weight loss, hair loss and protein. I am currently 68lbs down, hair loss started about a month ago so not so happy, had thin hair but a lot of it not now.... Can get in my liquid each day but still really struggle with protein, what are people eating to get around 70-80 gms??? Just can't do shakes... and I can eat around 1/2-3/4 cups at each main meal.

8 Months Out Any Questions for me?

@@slimmindown - didn't have a great ride to start with, complications etc.. Nearly at 6 mths things have improved but still some days the regret for doing this still kicks in, oh well can't change it just have to move forward.

8 Months Out Any Questions for me?

Hi, at 8 mths out can you tell me a typical food day - how much can you eat?

    MFP goals

I currently don't measure anything but thought coming upto 6 months and loosing some hair, thought I might just try and track my protein. I have never been given a goal each day but would be happy to hear from people on what their goals are on my fitness pal??? I think 60gms of protein is about normally and between 800-1000 calories, once again not really sure

    Sliming

Can anyone tell me why people slime?? I am told that if we eat fast we can slime, what is the difference between pre op and post op to make this happen? I know our stomachs and food portions are smaller but surely this can't be the reason

    MFP goals

What ratios are people setting their goals at (carbs/fat/protein)?

    Eating Pace

Can anyone tell me if they eat at a normal pace. I dont mean scoff evetything down in 5 mins but i mean that when you finish a mouthful you put in the next one or do you wait 30-60 seconds between each bites. I hate my dinner being cold!!

    5 mths post op

Hi all, i am having one of my days where i just have one thought after the other, i dont measure anything but would like to know how many ozs of protein (mainly meat) does everyone have at dinner time - i am nearly 6 mths out and thought i would like to measure to see how much i am actually consuming.
  18. Unhappysleever

    Eating Pace

Arghhhh, i just cant do it, i cant eat at a snails pace. You would think that at nearly 6 mths out i could slow down eating - i just want to eat at normal pace....

    GERD/Reflux

I have today reached my 5 month anniversary and have found as the months go by my reflux gets better, as per my doctor i am no longer on reflux meds, i have the odd bout of heartburn and the feeling like something is stuck in my throat - can anybody tell me if they had bad reflux after surgery but it has eased off as the months go by? Never suffered this prior.......

    Incorporating "real" foods

Fantastic reply 'Who Dat' and you are so correct in saying not to worry about the number on scales. I don't have a particular goal weight in mind I just think I will know when I am there. Currently lost 77 lbs, maybe like to loose another 20-30 lbs but not loosing sleep if I don't Hang in there Gabby I had the worst 3-4 mths post op but now at 5.5 mths things are a lot easier, it really does take time to adjust both physically and mentally..... But if I could do it so can YOU
  21. I have noticed for the last couple of days that when i eat i get a pain. The pain is generally between my breastbone, kind of at the top of my stomach ( i think!) 3 nights ago i had the worst indigestion that i had to get out of bed dont know if this has anything to do with it. I sometimes still eat fast, about 30 secs between each bite. Anybody had this kind of pain this many months out???

    GERD/Reflux

@mysleeveid23 - i have the lump in my throat about 10 mins after i get out of bed and most days have it all day. I have never suffered with it when i go to bed however a neat trick i was told to do is raise the head of your bed. Sounds weird but i think it works. I have 2 bricks under mine!!! Give it a try you have nothing to lose....

    Low energy

I am having one of those days today, i feel really tired and flat and i am 5 mths out, does anyone else further out than me have days like this - i would say by now my healing would be complete...

    GERD/Reflux

You may find that the protonix may help you. I have had a scope done due to narrowing of my esophagus (from the reflux), it is a painless procedure which only takes about 15 mins, they knock you out so you don't feel anything - slippery elm is from health food shops.
  25. do you have an idea of what you would need to eat post op to get 60-80 grams of Protein per day? @@moonlitestarbrite i am 5 mths post op and still don't know what I need to get to 60-80 grams per day - I haven't been back to the nut since 2nd month, she was never very helpful. Any suggestions would be most appreciated - however don't do protein shakes!!!!
