JanettH.. I agree with you this is the best group! When I first joined this site I thought it wasn't going to be a good fit for me. I know everyone needs to vent sometimes..but not all of the time. Everyone here has been very supportive. Great job on the weight loss! Delillieflower Great job!! Claire Enjoy your last few days!! It's been a struggle to get pass the stalls but it's finally moving! I am having a problem with wanting to eat anything. I seriously have to make myself eat my three meals. Then afterwards I feel sick.. anyone else having this issue? Have a great day everyone! Best wishes Deanna

Janette To change the calorie goals..on the main page there is a section goals.. go into that and scroll down.. touch calorie goals and that should allow you to manually type in your number. I have mine set to 600.. that may be too low but that's about the max food intake that I can tolerate. Hope this helps Deanna

    My new life has started!

Hi Paige Welcome to the journey!.. I am four months out from gbs. The biggest challenge was head hunger. I felt like many times the surgery failed for me. It will get better!. My biggest struggles now are the weight stalls and my hair falling out.. they say this to shall pass. Hope this helps a little Best wishes Deanna

Claire Maui sounds wonderful!.. We went to Oahu a couple of years ago but it was March and we experienced bad weather.better luck next time right? We are flying direct flight from San Francisco to England. We get to stay the night in Harwich England before we get on the cruise ship. We are visiting Paris, St Peters port, cork Ireland, Liverpool England, Glasgow Scotland and Holy head Wales.. then back to Harwich for a over night stay before we fly back. Not sure how I feel with being in the air for ten hours.. The flight to Hawaii was only five hours and I thought that was way too long. I think I will follow your plan and bring a few back ups with me. Best wishes Deanna

Claire How did you manage the food on the plane ride over? We are going to Europe in July and was wondering if I should bring my own food for the flight or if there are small options on the planes. It's a real struggle to get more protein in daily, I'm having the same issue after I eat the protein. It's like my body is not accepting it with out a noticable feeling afterwards. What island are you on? Best wishes Deanna

Thank you very much Kimr! !.. I started out on the premier protein shakes. .they are very sweet but I might try them again to get more protein in. You will definitely know if you dump or not. For me I had palpitations, harsh stomach cramps and nausea beyond belief, It lasted for two hours. All because I accidently ate regular jello vs so jello. I will never make that mistake again.

Hmjdreamingbig I went through something just like what you are experiencing..for me I needed to drink more water.. I read on one of the bariatric sites that hunger pains could also be a sign of needing more water (not sure if that's true) but I increased my water and it helped. Protein, protein and more protein helps you stay full longer.. but the head hunger is horrible!! I hope it gets easier for you soon.

Kimr I am getting about 50-60grms of protein daily. I will admit sometimes it's very hard to get that much. I'm not doing well with eatting breakfast, I never was much for early eating. I need to ask my nut about how much protein I should be eatting but at the last meetings they just said at least 50-60grams. Maybe I need to explain how much exercising I'm doing and see if that helps. Thanks for the support.

Hi Everyone.. I had my surgery Feb 6th.. The weight loss was pretty rapid the first month where I was losing over 5 lbs a week. Now I'm averaging about 11 lbs a month. I'm not able to get all of the protein in and was wondering if that can be the reason I have stalls on my weight loss?.. I exercise daily riding my bike at over an hour each ride. Do I need to be taking in more protein? I'm so happy to find a group that is at the same stage as I am..starting weight 243..weight at surgery date 226.. As of today 175.

    Slow weight loss

I am also slow on the weight loss.. but I've noticed that I am losing inches. Don't get on the scale everyday. . The weight will come off. Best of luck
  16. I'm at the three month post op mark and I feel like my weight loss is at a very slow crawl! The day of surgery i weighted 226 and I am now at 180. YEAY I'm in onederland but, I feel the weight is not coming off as it should be. Is this normal? Or has the head games been getting the better of me? I know I need to be eatting more protein I work out daily and get plenty of fluids. There are weeks where I just stay at the same weight.

    Three months post op

Thanks Frank I know my biggest problem is that I weight my self daily. That really stresses me out!!.. You are right the weight didn't just happen over night and I need to be more patient. Thanks for the support!
  18. I'm three months post op and things are starting to get back to a normal routine. My surgery was Feb 6 and all went well. My surgeon found that I had a rather large hernia which he repaired but I think it made for a painful recovery. My first two weeks were the worst but so worth it. Hang in there with following the meal guidelines it does get easier. I think for me personally it's the head hunger games that seem to be getting the best of me but, I just keep reminding myself of where I want to be and it seems to be helping. Keep up the great work everyone!

    5 weeks out

5 weeks out and 32 pounds lost is great!!.. Your body is going through a lot right now and needs time to heal. Even though you may not be seeing the changes others around you will. I am three months out and I'm slowly seeing small changes while others are seeing drastic changes. Keep up the great work before you know it you will see it.
