I have went through everything he has requested me to do.. He had me visit psych, I did that for a month and a half and the psych doctor approved me for surgery. He had me meet with several people over the last year to get things ready for surgery. I even have been doing calls with health partners for coaching..... His concern is that surgery will mess with my mental health..... I feel like in all reality it will help my mental health. I feel so discouraged that I did everything I was asked to do just to be rejected my my own surgeon. I have a seminar to go to at a different hospital in the cities area on Tuesday at 6pm..... Wish me luck!!

I went and saw the nurse today and I got everything set up for what I need to do next most of my paperwork has been transferred to unity and then all I need to do is make the appointment get the approval and get a second opinion from the surgeon and doctor they put me on vitamins already

Thanks everyone for the support! I was able to go to the seminar on the 29th and I already have my first appt with the nurse at unity hospital at 3 o'clock today. This happened really fast for me!! I'm so excited but I keep hearing bad reviews about the lap band so I'm thinking about doing the sleeve instead....... We will see.... I need my new surgeons advice now, since he actually seems like he cares.

Going to unity

I live in st.cloud MN. My doctor never asked me to lose weight and due to my meds and the deposit shot I gained 18 pounds in a span of like 6 months then he asked me to lose 40 pounds in 4 months in the first month and a half I lost 17 pounds. But when I visited him last he told me he wasn't sure if he wanted to go ahead with surgery so I cried because I have been waiting so long that's when he asked me to lose 40 pounds

I am a smoker, will I need to quit before the surgery for the doctor to go ahead with it?

For my post op diet I think I'm going to be fine but I'm wondering what I all need for after my surgery.... food & supplies....? Any helpful ideas so I can be prepared?

I am worried about the anesthesia and the post op anxiety from it. Is there anything that the doctor can give to help with the anxiety do you think? Also I'm just anxious to get the surgery done, its coming up really fast and I feel like I have so many questions that are still unanswered....

I am in the process of getting the lap band hopefully in the next month. I have had very strong baby fever for little over a year, but I want to become thinner so I can have a healthier pregnancy. I just want to know how far into my lap band until I will be ready for pregnancy? I know that it varies with everyone but I'm wanting to wait until I plateau. When do people usually plateau from the lap band, how long until the weight loss just maintains?

Does the liquid diet include juicing? Because I want to get a direct support of nutrient's.

Thank you for the information! I didn't know that. I probably will go with a low carb fruit and veggie combination to put in the juicer. With protein powder maybe, if I'm allowed....

Thank you so much for your support!! That's so awesome for you I'm so excited to see myself in a year!! I know I can do anything for a short period of time! I decided to watch the whole surgery on YouTube, it's really not that bad.... Seems so minimal.. But it's the being put to sleep then waking up. Ugh I had my wisdom teeth done on anesthesia and I woke up in a total anxiety attack.... I just don't want that to happen and idk if adivan will work as I already take it for anxiety. But who knows lol

How much weight does the doctor recommend to lose before the surgery? And how much weight loss happens when on the liquid diet for two weeks?

I meet with my surgeon on may 9th to talk and then I meet with the food specialist too right after. How long until I get the lap band from this point? Its been about 7 months since I started this process....
