  1. I did the same thing. My attitude is slow and steady wins the race. Start out small and continue to build on the momentum. I'm just so happy to use this tool to reach my goal of getting healthy. Best of luck to you!!
  2. Melissa. I too had some issue but am now 1 week postop and feel 100% better. Hang in there...this too shall pass. You made the right decision your just in the thick of having major surgery.
  3. Good luck. I'm 1 week post op and I have to say it's gone really well. They manage any pain you have very well during the hospital and send you home with liquid pain meds. Good luck!
  4. Thanks for the app tip. I like it so much better. Just downloaded it. 1 week post op today.
  5. Oops I meant to say 1 week followup.
  6. All is going really well but still sore. I think I overdid it today. My large incision where the drain started to bleed a little. Hope it's nothing. Going back Tuesday for my 2 week followup so hope they can close it up. It's so bizarre eating so little but I feel great otherwise.
  7. Ginger.... I'm sure you'll be good by then. Tomorrow I'll be 1 week. Energy is great and I feel great. I have 1 incision that is giving me trouble so hope they can close it up on Tuesday when it have my followup. Have a great vacation.
  8. Yes all is good. I'm a little worried about my incision sites. They are very sore and one is open. I have to pack it with gauze every day. They told me it needs to heal from the inside out. I am going to try sleeping in my bed for the first time tonight. I've been sleeping in the recliner as it was so much more comfortable. I'll find out Tuesday at my first follow up.
  9. Aww that sucks. What did you eat? This is all a process. Glad your feeling better. Tomorrow I'm 1 week post op.
  10. Relax and enjoy you night with family. I had a Cathadetation so never was able to wear any of the stuff I brought to the hospital. I highly recommend Chapstick. My lips were so dry afterward. Good luck tomorrow.
  11. Best of luck to all this weeks surgeries. Tomorrow I'll be 1 week post op. Feeling pretty good. It's so bizarre to only eat 2 oz at a sitting but that is all my new stomach allows. I still have incision pulling and a little pain but it's totally under control. Good luck to this weeks group.
  12. Hello all 6 days postop and still have some incision pain. I'm doing lite house choirs and a little walking. I think I'm just getting antsy and feel like I should be doing more. I take a short walk to the mailbox etc. Any support or insight is appreciated. Drinking and eating 2 oz is going fine. The pills are tough but I manage to get them down. I have my first follow up on Tuesday with Nutrician and surgeon.
  13. STOP WEIGHING YOURSELF THIS EARLY. I just 6 days postoperative and won't get on a scale for at least 3 weeks per the doctor. The only thing we should be focused on his proper intake protein and water this early. Hang in there I'm sure in 2 months were going to be shocked at the loss. It didn't come on overnight. All the best.
  14. I add the injury chicken flavor protein powder to my cream soups and it is very good. I mix the soup with water and powder mix with a fork then heat up 2 to 4 ounces for dinner or lunch. A can of soup lasts several meals.
  15. Thanks for the reminder. Just walked to the next house and back. I feel my one wound where the drain was pulling. It still is open and packed with gauze. This afternoon was good. This am I drank protein shake then took my meds. HUGE MISTAKE. I'll have to do that fist thing then wait 1 hour to drink protein shake or what ever I'm having for breakfast.
  16. Did any one else have the JP drain taken out before they went home from hospital? I have to pack it with gauze and change the bandage every day. I'm only 5 days post opp. How long before this closes up? It's hard to sit up straight or bend. Any one else?
  17. I'm 5 days out of surgery. The gas is very loud and it hurts to push it out. I'm still very sore and just taking it 1 step at a time. Just getting my meds down is a choir. I finally slept most of the night so that was good. I can't lie down I have to sleep in a recliner because otherwise it feels like my incisions are pulling and it hurts.
  18. I am taking 4 weeks. I want to get into a routine and take some ME time to make sure I'm following all the diet exersize plans.
  19. I go in the morning before work.
  20. Oh and I lost 25 lbs on the preopp diet. That really made a HUGE difference
  21. I had surgery on Monday morning. Spent two nights in the hospital then was released last night. I'm doing really good. I have no hunger and am just starting my full liquid diet today. Overall the pain wasn't bad. The worst part was having the drain removed before I left the hospital.
  22. Today is day 3. Still in hospital because I can't pee. I'm doing good otherwise pain is manageable. Drinking water and eating jello.
  23. Surgery is done. I slept the whole day. Pain isn't bad at all and I've all ready done walking. Going to be here for 1 more day. All went great and lost 25 lbs pre opp.
