  1. @@shahada A fan of TheMilitantbaker!, I love her!. Thanks for the positive feedback. I will take everyone's experiences, words of wisdom and reminders on this journey with me. I have not yet reached the struggles of many, but it's good to hear they exist and knowing what I know about myself I know if action isn't taken soon I someday will be in the same situation. Thank you all for your input!
  2. BIG NEWS!...I found my medical records!, everyone dating back to when the weight gain began at age 4 because of my seizure medication.

Letter Of Medical Necessity And Sample Letter.

So just an update. Just got out of my pcp office and she was super cool about everything and told me she would do the letter for me no problem. She said she would include childhood obesity to it and the list of diets/meds and gyms I had for her.
  5. @@Pugmadkate Good luck to you! It's never too late, I hope to see more updates for you in the future!
  6. @@Pugmadkate Thank you for bringing up being "Fat Positive" being a confident fat girl myself that has spent the last 5 years of my life surrounding myself with body positive messages and friends, and working towards a body acceptance movement of our own I've found love in myself. I've spent the last years being told that there's nothing wrong with me, I'm just fat and So what?!. So I guess sometimes I feel like there is a conflicts of interest, but I know in my heart that for my own health (and if I love myself that much) and well being this is right for me and my family in the long run. Just because I'm young and not suffering with complications yet doesn't mean it's not possible later down the line, and I don't want to get to that point.

Letter Of Medical Necessity And Sample Letter.

@ This is very true, I just hope my insurance isn't picky to the point they are like "Well she was pregnant at the time, So she had a reason to be fat!" Though I've been told they don't need to know that I was pregnant, they just need to see numbers, But if they were to look into it further they would find out.

Letter Of Medical Necessity And Sample Letter.

@ That's great!, I don't really think you'll have any problem with you're insurance approving you. I guess my medical records are all lost from the past (I assume), Not sure how long Dr's keep old patient records but I can't for see any of my Childhood Dr's keeping them around. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to call around and see.

Letter Of Medical Necessity And Sample Letter.

@ I am kind of relying on the written letter from my OB, Especially since I was just in there for a "Missing Period" and problems conceiving for a second time. She told me to lose weight and try again, so that's the plan. Though an OB is not a "Primary" Dr it is a Dr and I don't think the insurance will have any problem with who they get the letter from. I see my OB a lot more then my PCP..

Letter Of Medical Necessity And Sample Letter.

@@LilMissDiva Irene That's the thing that is holding me back, I contacted WW and they were unable to help me since my account was over 2 years old and from another state. I'm almost wondering if it would be worth my time to track down my medical records from when I had my gallbladder removed in 2007. I live 3 hrs away from the hospital that preformed the surgery and the pcp I had at the time?, well I haven't seen her or stepped foot in her office in 9 years. I'll let everyone know how it goes tomorrow!

    Visit with psychologist.

I was sure to mention the message boards online and that I family members who also had the surgery and my best friend who is coming up to sit with me for one of the 3hr nutritional classes. So I hope that was enough.

    Visit with psychologist.

Had my evaluation tonight, We did about 45 min of talking and that was it. I'm not really sure how I did..There were a few time's I thought I had said something wrong because of other thing's I have read. I don't really live around any of my support group, I'm 3hrs away from all my friends and family and I kind of told her that so I hope she doesn't hold it against me.
  14. Thanks feedback everyone! I have a love hate relationship with my body, Sometimes I really love the way my fat hides me from the rest of the world, The way my ass look's in a pair of jeans, How my breast make the perfect cleavage, and my thick strong arms. But then I think of all the thing's I really hate and I guess they really do outweigh the thing's I like.

Way To Go, You Look Amazing!! And I'm sure you feel just as good as you look!
  16. Thanks for the feedback @@Roo101769! You're right in the fact that I'm young and I haven't gotten to a size point in which you or others have suffered through and I am somewhat grateful for that. But I know if I allow myself to continue down the road I'm on I'll end up in the same boat, So I figure if I have the chance to change course now I might as well. I can learn a lot from you and others who "Have been there done that" lol.
  17. Thanks for sharing ladies!.. @@KayleeC14, I am really worried about missing my boobies and booty as well lol. But I'm sure in the long run it will all be worth it!..I'm really happy to see that no one misses one certain thing a lot.
  18. Thanks for sharing CarolinaGirl.. Sorry I can't relate to any of that, But I can understand you're specific situation and why you wouldn't miss it.

    Visit with psychologist.

As far as I know it's my insurance company that requires it. The Psychologist say's she takes my insurance and all I owe is a co-pay of $20 for her services, Other then the $180 for her to write up the evaluation and fax it over. I'm not the first person I've run across that has this issue, I've heard of some people having to pay up to $300 for their evals to be written up and faxed over.

    Visit with psychologist.

I have my Psych Eval tomorrow, I'm not worried about it that much. Just kind of mad I have to pay $180 out of pocket for them to write the evaluation up and send it to my Dr
  21. I've been reading about everyone's out of pocket cost for the in hospital stay after surgery. I have BCBS ppo of Mass, I have no idea how much everything is going to cost me. Does anyone else have BCBS of MA that can give me an idea of what their out of pocket cost was?, And was the hospital willing to do a payment plan?..I defiantly don't have $2,000 to put down!
  22. HalloweenBaby24

How much was your out of pocket?!?

I'm getting paranoid reading all of this. I have my surgery set up for September 8th, At the moment I'm getting my thing's together to send it into the insurance company. There is no way I can pay $2,000 up front, I just don't have that sort of money and I'm hoping that's not the case but I guess I won't know until I get approved and everything. I have BCBS of Mass it's a PPO and my surgery is being preformed in NJ. Is there anyone can give me an idea of how much I'll be spending out of pocket for the hospital stay/Surgery?
  23. HalloweenBaby24

    Physician Letter?..Input Please.

I have BCBS of Massachusetts. It's not that I never had insurance, It's just that I never went to the Dr's unless I was sick and through the past 5 years most of my Dr's appointments have been OB appointments (Had my daughter in 2009). So I have an appointment with my OB the 27th of this month, Who I've only been seeing for the past 3 year's but she has all my records from my old OB I had with my pregnancy with so I'm hoping to talk with her and see if she's willing to write me the letter of medical necessity.
  24. I had the consultation appointment with my Bariatric surgeon today, Everything went well and I was given all the papers and order's to follow (Yay, No 6 month diet required by my insurance!) along with a surgery date of September 18th so long as my insurance approves. I've seen that my insurance company want's my Physician to fill out a "Physician Letter" recording my weight dating back to 2009, Issue is I've only been with my Primary Care Dr for the past 2-3 Year's and have only gone to her when sick (Which isn't very often) and never for a weight related issue or weight loss. I have recorded weight from 2009 but it's through my OBGYN and I was pregnant at the time with my daughter, So I'm not sure if they will take that into consideration...Has anyone ever ran into this issue? I'm not exactly sure where to go from here, So any insight would be helpful. Should get letter's from both my OB and Primary Dr just to be on the safe side, Or am I just completely over thinking this?

Ok, Thanks for the info. I'm going to go ahead and get letter's from my Pcp and Gyno just to be on the safe side.
